Ok well thank you for telling me that, I had no idea how the damn game was going to play and now it makes more sense why it isn't done. My biggest problem as stated before is the cost of it, $140 for a game that should be $50 at most is asking a bit to much.
If the 1st game + expansions have as much single-player content as three games, why should it be $50 at most?

(Not saying they will have as much content as 3 games, but that's what blizzard is saying, and for now I believe them)
Well unless each game is going to be about 40+ hours and have great replay value I don't think it's right(now I'm not saying every game has to be like this, but if they are splitting it up like this it should be) DOW took me 50 hours to beat on normal, and that was only $50, and I have heard from people it will only be 20 hours, so by that logic DOW2 should have been at least 1 game and a expansion. As I said if they end up being about 40 hours each I wouldn't have a problem with that, but 20, come on at that point if you have more contend planned then add it in.
Very off-topic but how was DOW 2? I haven't played it yet because my computer sucks at playing games made after the year 2000 and I'm thinking of buying a PC that can support it.
Worse then DoW 1. Now it's not a bad game, but Company of Heroes was a lot better. The campaign also became repetitive. Sure, it wasn't short, but I was doing the same thing on the same map against the same opponent who did the same thing for three-four, sometimes even five times(I'm not kidding about this one).

If you do get a new PC get CoH instead, an awesome game with awesome MP.

Though keep in mind that this is pretty subjective

Of course, there's far more to Starcraft than single player, I spent a few days on WC3 single player, and about 3 years playing it online.
Some people don't give a flying fuck about multiplayer.
wow!! harsh dude take a deep breath and try again

sorry had to do it

Ok what I'm calling lazy is the 10 years it has taken up to now, hell Duke Nukem only got that long. as for the rest, see above.
They haven't been developing SC2 for more than four of those years, though. They've had other projects obviously. Warcraft 3, TFT, WoW, Starcraft: Ghost (even though it was canceled). Plus you have to remember that Blizzard was a fairly small company prior to WoW.
Well they have at least had the idea for ten years, plus I have heard anywhere from 10 years, to 6, to 4, so honestly I have no idea what it is and think it's more around6, and that's still along time for a game.

Eh I liked DOW2 better but then again I like the squad concept better then base building, I know this is one of those games people ether love or hate, so thats why i told him to see some gameplay first.

Me being the case.

That said, the ammount of condenscending, patronizing fanboyism in this thread sickens me. It's not so much the discussion, but the tone people adopt during it.

I know this may be a rehash but honestly, dividing one game into three parts and selling each part for full price? Blizzard you greedy bastards. The next step is releasing Diablo in four parts because you have to buy each class. (I hope Blizzard isn't reading this and going "hey, great idea!"). Am i buying Starcraft 2? Yes. When they release all three campaigns in one box and it's under 60 dollars. Until then, plenty of good games out there.
You know the keyword in this paragraph?

Blizzard

Because guess who they are owned by....Activision

By that logic Diablo 2 is only half a game. Starcraft 1 is only half a game. The original Warcraft 2 is only a 1/3 of a game. The original World of Warcraft is only 1/4 of a game.

I have nothing against expansions. I played the beta. It kicks ass.

1) It will still be a great game at its core.
2) The single player campaign will still be as long as the SC1 campaigns were combined.

You need to check your head. Your not paying full price for a 1/3 of a game. Your paying full price for a full game. Has Blizzard ever been greedy to the point of selling a game in 3 parts for $60 bucks each?? Who do you think we're dealing with? Activision?

"Bobby Kotick, once head of Activision, was announced to become President and CEO of Activision Blizzard."

That says a lot, doesn't it?
