OT: It's sad to see an industry leader die so young. I have to wonder how long Apple is going to stay on top without him. Even if he wasn't making all the business choices, he was their mascot.

I personally don't know what to say. I can't say I was much of an Apple connoisseur, nor did I think a lot about him, so to hear that Jobs died is... kinda shocking to me. I knew for quite some time that he was suffering from a type of disease, but to hear that he died so early.

I'm just speechless. I can only give my condolences to his friends and family, and my humblest respect to the man that had done so much.

RIP: Steve Jobs.

Knowing the usual response in these forums when something even remotely with APPLE comes up, I am actually a bit surpirsed to see so much sympathy here - or at least acknowledgement.

Steve and Apple were not perfect by any means, but without his visions and the resulting products, a lot of other products by competitors would not even exist.
His impact on technology development just cannot be emphasized enough.

I thank him for getting the struggling with hardware and software out of the way of my creativity and working schedule.
