I stockpile money. Like I will spend hours farming in an RPG when I already have everything you can buy, then I will place it (if you can) in different places in case of emergencies, sometimes including somewhere out in the wilderness in case I get kidnapped. If not I usually then place gems or rare/expensive items in those places instead.

That and I apologize in real life If I do something bad in a game.

I never die. (Except in RTS games) That's the most annoying thing, when I play Ghost Recon, or Silent Storm, or Fallout tactics or UFO, or have companions in any game. I never die. Not with anyone. I will do whatever it takes to keep everyone alive, even if I know I'm going to switch the character out right when this mission is done, I'll risk my whole squad and use up all my avaviable resources to get that one guy out, even if it's Ute or some other annoying chars that's MADE for dying.

I also tend to be quite a collector, which my armoury in Silent Storm can bear witness to. Sure, I MAY never have to equip a whole army consisting of 500 soldiers with heavy weapons, but then again, I MIGHT need those guns SOMETIME.

Two things.

I think we all did the first in Pokemon, Mashing a button hoping that it's affecting the capture rate some how.

The second is odd, for some reason I can't release Pokemon I know their just data it's WEIRD.
That first one is incredibly true, i didn't even think of it.

In RPGs i purposly wear lesser or no armors at all because i like looking at my character and going "I look badass". Like in fallout 3, i wear a Prewar hat, sunglasses, and a merc outfit that has a max armor of 10 because it looks like i'm some sort of Matrix Assassin/Hitman.

In FPS games online like Counter Strike i constantly reload even if i'm just missing a single bullet because i get the idea in my head that in a sticky situation that one bullet could save my life.

I'm also very twitchy when i play FPS games, if i see even the slightest movement out of the corner of my eye my reaction is to usualy look at it or just fire off a few rounds at it. Most of the time it can nail me a kill on those sneaky people who think their Solid Snake but other times it is usualy like a tin can or something rolling across the ground and i just look like a idiot.

I stockpile everything. I usually end a game with more money and stuff than most.

I am very nervous when I play horror shooters. If there's a dark room, I'd rather shoot in every direction, until I have no ammo. If there's a doorway that leads into a dark room, I'll empty an entire clip by shooting through it.

I also hate snipers. I see a sniper - I'll die 60 times if I have to, but he's going down.

I seriously have the 'Save it for when I really, really need it" thing. Which usually right at the end. Thankfully I've started to overcome in Fallout 3 thanks to Super Mutant Behemoths and large groups of people.

I also tend to carry around a ton of weapons I like to use. For some reason it feels wrong if I go out without my Fatman, Dart Gun, Shiskabob, Missile Launcher, Xuanlong Assault Rifle, The Terrible Shotgun, Alien Blaster, Flamer, A3-21's Plasma Rifle, Plasma Pistol, Smuggler's End, Col. Autumn's Laser Pistol, Protectron's Gaze, Outcast Power Armor, Roving Trader's Outfit & Hat, Lucky Shades, Ranger Combat Armor, and a dozen Ice Cold Nuka Colas.

Spending wayyy too long on character creation, and then going back and redoing it because of a minor things which a normal player woulnd't notice.

Pack rat syndrome, collecting as much stuff and anything that might be useful and taking it along with me. Inclues conserving ammo and potions in rpg's.

Quicksave/quickload addict. I can play fine without using them, but once I start I just can't stop using them till I stop playing ><

Cheapskate. I try never to buy things in games, either things are overpriced or I might need the money later to buy something really cool I could otherwise not afford, or just because I don't want to give away my presciouses :(

Obsessive compulsive reloader. If there's a single bullet missing in the clip then I just gotta reload. Developed out of a good habit to make sure i'm ready with enough bullets but I find sometimes i'll reload, fire a few shots and then reload again straight away before the fight is over.

Mighty explorer. I usually check the corners of each room, open every container, check closets for boogey men, make sure the toilet is flushed and then move onto the next and worry that i've missed something.

That's about it for now aside from when people shoot at me I go running into the corner crying hoping the bad men go away...ok not so much that last one but the rest I do ><

Bunnyhopping.
Always.
Never.
Stop.

I've gotten really good at it, And it means I figure out the physics of a game really quickly.

I try and ascertain how important an NPC is ahead of time by shooting them in the face.

If they die and the main consequence is people yelling at me, they're not important.

If they die and the game fails me, they're important.

If they're apparently bulletproof, they're important until they die at a later date, usually by deus ex machina.

This is suprisingly accurate.

For instance, when I play an RPG, I can sometimes spend hours in character creation, especially thinking up the perfect name. Sometimes I'll delete a character I've spent hours, even days playing, because I suddenly decided he had the wrong shade of moustache or his name was missing an e at the end or something. I will then create the almost identical twin of that character with the small flaw fixed and start all over again.
This! Character creation is big for me.

How long did I spend in Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale mashing the 'reroll' button to make sure I got something good?
And how long did I spend in both of those games sitting there...thinking...of JUST the right name?
And in Icewind Dale, I even made full BIOGRAPHIES for each character! Where they came from, how they met, etc.

I don't do this, but my sister does: Flipping the controller when she's making a character jump in hopes that the flip will give them the extra boost to make it across some pit or something...always makes me laugh.

Whenever i start ANY game, if it has one, i always go into the options menu and tweak something, anything, be it lives, sound settings, anything.

also I have the "but I might need it later" syndrome when it comes to games, only to find you beat the hardest boss thinking there was someone harder and there isnt, and your stuff is wasted.

Quicksave/quickload - I know i save a lot, but i noticed when i recently fired up deus ex again and started from the beginning on realistic, i quick save EVERY THIRTY SECONDS (or something like that), or if i kill a guard. or if i am about to use an item. seriously it's ridiculous.

And on any fps, if i fire a single shot, i MUST reload, you never know, that bullet might save you.

oh,and the pokeball thing? yes, every time i threw one, i held down+B. every single time.

man we got some basket cases on here don't we?

In all the games I play, be it FPS, RPG, or what have you, I try to pretty much play as the same kind of character; quiet, fast, sneaky, capable of the epic, One Shot, One Kill. As fact is, why was all that time and effort, not to mention bullets and stamina, when one, well placed head shot is all it takes?

(I was going to go with "Silent, but Deadly" until I realized that was a juvenile joke.)

I have a problem with keeping to many things in my inventory in RPGs. I carry the shit around for the whole game thinking that I might use it at some point, but I never do. It was especially bad in Oblivion where I kept all kinds of potions and scrolls just in case, but I never used a single one.

After losing an hour or two of work in Morrowind to tons and tons of cliff racers and not saving when I thought I did, I now have a bad tendency to save right after saving to ensure I saved properly.

CoD4 also gave me a compulsion to move away from any corpse I just killed for a while, in games where there wasn't an ability even vaguely similar to martyr.

And I share many people's bad tendencies of going halfway through a game, stopping for a bit, then just restarting due to some minor flaw in character creation or out of an inability to back into a character whom I'm going to just remake anyways.

I always make sure that my controller feels right. I have to "break" new ones in. Like, for my birthday yesterday I got a red xbox controller and it feels a little strange, so I'll make it my primary and break it in with a few sessions of Halo, BioShock and Mirror's Edge. Maybe throw in some HL2 and Portal.

Know what I mean?
Yeah totally, pads need to feel right, I don't know what constitutes them feeling right but they just do

I say "ow" when I get shot in FPS's
Yeah I do that too. Also, when I'm playing a single player game I have to go everywhere. Usually the story lines are linear everywhere but I have to make sure I've looked in every corner in case I miss something. I do that silly character creation thing too, I've deleted a few well-played characters because I decided I preferred some other hairstyle.
