Escapists, what is the most stupidest achievement or trophy that you have earned/seen?
For example, I was playing Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth II, and one of the achievements is called "Try a tutorial."
To gain it, you have to lose a skirmish by an opponent ranked 20 places below you.
Not only is this now unobtainable due to the EA servers being taken down, but seriously, WHY would I want to lose to someone like that? Plus, it doesn't give you a gamerscore, or anything like that. Seriously, it seems more like a mark of shame than anything else.
So what examples can you think of?
In most cases achievements like the one you mentioned (i.e. achievements that would imply you having to lose at something or otherwise not do well in the game) ARE meant to be a mark of shame/teasing jest towards the player, that's why they have a 0 gamerscore value.
As for an achievement that I thought was stupid, in celebration of Warriors Orochi 3 coming, out, I'll point to the achievement in WO 2 which demanded that you beat every level on every difficulty. Sounds easy enough...except there's no "auto-complete" function for beating a level on a higher difficulty (that is to say how most games if you complete it on Hard, it counts as having completed it on Normal and Easy as well. This game you have to meticulously beat every level 4 times for Easy, Normal, Hard, Super Hard). Still, not so bad...except when you consider the fact that in order to unlock the last playable bonus level, you have to get your combined weapon proficiency for all characters to like 3,356 or something like that. This essentially translates into "Play this game for more than 150 hours."
Which brings me to another set of lame achievements: the time base ones. Like the Dead Island one where you just have to play the game 28 days after the first time you played it. Not bad. But what about Arkham City in which you have to visit Calender Man on every holiday of the year? Good god, I mean that game was a HELL of a lot of fun, but unless you cheat (disconnect your XBox and change the date in the system settings) that means that they want you to either keep playing it for the better part of a year just to get that achievement. There's only so many times you can play through that story, so many times you can beat the crap out of a buncha thugs before you start wanting to play something else.
Captcha: Ok...wow.... "The infiniti jx inspired a cirque du soleil performance."....and apparently it's a True/False question? Great, now I have to google before I can make a post?
