Okay, movies that you started watching thinking 'this'll be crap' or 'it'll pass the time i suppose'....and you walked out of your lounge room/cinema/mates house thinking: 'WOW that was awesome. i'm so surprised-or something along those lines.

anyone, if you understood that?

I watched Gone With The Wind thinking it was going to be a bit meh. I'm always skeptical when people trot out the "best film EVAR" accoaldes. Turns out it was one of the best films I've ever seen. I didn't even mind that it was 4 hours long.

Sahara. not the original or the latest one, but the one with Lulabell.
"Lulabell bit me sir." "Lulabell?" "The Tank, Sir"
good film. although hard to find.

Stardust.

I was expecting some lame fairytale kids movie, turns out it's pretty sweet with a great story, funny bits and some violence too which is always good.

Apocalypto.

I saw it at the video-store and thought "If I don't rent it now I'll probably never bother". Holy Christ, that movie took me be surprise. Mel Gibson is a jerk, but he can sure make one hell of a movie.

Dragonball-Evolution. I know, I know, but I watched it with absolutely no expectations. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it is not so bad, and is actually enjoyable.

Crank. I was expecting it to be a bad action film and it was. But it KNEW that it was a bad action film and didn't try to be anything else and was therefore excellent.

Blazing Saddles and the Dark Knight.

I thought they'd be horrible but they literally blew my mind with Blazing Saddles witty comedy and the Dark Knights truly brilliant acting and story.

Same, i laughed so hard when i watched some parts in that movie. I only watched it because there was nothing good on and i was home with my mum.

well i forgot to post mine so here it is:

Hot Fuzz...i watched it on TV just to pass the time thinking it'd be some unfunny comedy junk that's around these days, and walked out of my lounge room thinking 'I MUST HAVE THIS' (i've watched it 16 times since)

Jumper was a pretty cool movie that I didn't think would be all that good.

Okay, okay, Hayden Christensen and his face of wooden expression +5 can still go drown in acid, lava or magma...

The Clone Wars animation movie was better than expected... actionwise, anyway...

GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Going in I was thinking "Hrmm... Wonder how this thing's gonna rape my childhood". When I was over, I was grinning so hard my face hurt. OK, it wasn't Casablanca but it way better than it had any right to be.

The film that surprised me was "Sweeney Todd: The demon barber from Fleet street".

My Girlfriend introduced the film as a dark musical starring Johnny Depp. No wonder i hoped its over soon.
But then the film got surprisingly good, gruesome and very dark mooded. At the end i had to admit that i liked it...

Despite all the singing... :)

Fight club.

I went in expecting a movie about guys who get together and beat eachother up and what I got was one of the most fantastic films of all time.
