I do own a few games which he has reviewd, some of them was more lampooned than others I guess. And while his criticisms are always valid in the way that I do tend to go: "Yeah, he's right about that, it can be pretty fucking annoying in the game." His reviews have yet to discourage me completely from actually getting a game which I've had my sights on for some time before purchase. And valid as his critique may be, I can't say that the games I've played which he's reviewed have actually come across as "utter shite", but then again it's not like Yahtzee feels that way either.
Zero Punctuation is about him focusing pretty much entirely on the negative aspects of any given game, but if you pay attention it's not really that hard to tell when he didn't actually have such a boring time with any given game. Especially during the odd moments when his criticisms are extremely contrived and nitpicky, like let's say that he barely mentions anything of the game but will focus to death on ONE misplaced pixel on the gamescreen (not a real example of course but you get the idea of what im talking about).
Still, it's fun and I do think his opinions are spot on for the most part. It's just that I've learned to recognize a few patterns in his "reviews".
But that doesn'treally matter, im a big fan, and I enjoy watching the episodes.
