Not really... He has completely different taste from myself so I don't always agree with him. Sometimes our opinions are similar but not often. I just watch his videos because it's fun listening to him rag on the games. xD Not to mention the videos themselves are pretty funny sometimes.

Yeah there has been a few games I've avoided because he said some key words that turn me off games. I do my own research to make sure but at the moment he has been right about all of them.

He's not a critic, he's a comic.

While the concept of some of his points ring true, the guy gets "paid" to spew shat on games. I'm not convinced he even believes what HE says half the time and blows things out of proportion for comedic effect.

He's like the Angry Video Game Nerd... ... only, you know... British...

... ...

...

... and funny.

I generally find he makes good points, but I try and make my own judgments. Always look around when deciding on a game. Don't make your decision based on one review.

I have bought plenty of games that Yahtzee's reviewed after I've seen his review. No More Heroes, and The Orange Box are two really good examples, because he was completely right about them and most other games too. If I had a game, then saw Yahtzee's review of it, like with Bowser's Inside Story, I would compare my thoughts of it with his thoughts and find many similarities. The only game I've played that he reviewed that I don't agree with is Scribblenauts, because I actually enjoyed that game.

While I take all reviews into account, I can't say whether I will like the game or not until I play it.

Yahtzee is never wrong about the annoying bits of a game. If it exists anything annoying he's mostly likely to find it. Except for in No More Heroes and the driving bits that was kinda boring, but I had the same opinion with everything else. I often disagree on the complete opinion, but he's never wrong about the little things. If he gives a game a good review I check it out most of the time.

i watch his reviews, and he nails it nine times out of ten, so if i'm uming and erring, then yes. but if its a game i have wanted for months, no, that said nothing would stop me from getting a game like that. (think bad company 2, CoD 6 (and 7 when it comes out) and OFDR, although that last one was a waste of money and time)...

God no, he's funny, but I have MY OWN taste in games, I'll usually nab me the demo or rent it before purchasing the game

I think everyone's taste in games is different. I've bought some games after a Yahtzee review because I was fascinated enough in the plot/gameplay to buy it. Being a newcommer to the console gaming world, I rely on watching/reading reviews to see what's new.

Even if he slaughters a game I really like, I don't care because I'm not a critic and I play the game because it's a free world and my actions shouldn't be moulded to other people's opinions.

I do own a few games which he has reviewd, some of them was more lampooned than others I guess. And while his criticisms are always valid in the way that I do tend to go: "Yeah, he's right about that, it can be pretty fucking annoying in the game." His reviews have yet to discourage me completely from actually getting a game which I've had my sights on for some time before purchase. And valid as his critique may be, I can't say that the games I've played which he's reviewed have actually come across as "utter shite", but then again it's not like Yahtzee feels that way either.

Zero Punctuation is about him focusing pretty much entirely on the negative aspects of any given game, but if you pay attention it's not really that hard to tell when he didn't actually have such a boring time with any given game. Especially during the odd moments when his criticisms are extremely contrived and nitpicky, like let's say that he barely mentions anything of the game but will focus to death on ONE misplaced pixel on the gamescreen (not a real example of course but you get the idea of what im talking about).

Still, it's fun and I do think his opinions are spot on for the most part. It's just that I've learned to recognize a few patterns in his "reviews". :)

But that doesn'treally matter, im a big fan, and I enjoy watching the episodes.

He made me hate Halo for a while, which was too bad. But then I grew a brain and learned to think. He's still funny though.

Nonsense. It's a great way to up my post count without having to actually, you know, write posts. CTRL-C, CTRL-V, done. Since most people use the "grain of salt" line, I don't even have to change the opener.

Tons o' salt. The same amount as I take for a review that's "5/5 10/10 100% OMG BUY BUY BUY!" Which is only a bit more than I use for any other review, really.

There's been a few times he's voiced an unpopular opinion that I've agreed with. For instance, when he complained about System Shock 2 in his Bioshock review. His complaints (difficulty and mission objectives that start insultingly simple and wind up getting sidetracked all to hell by predictable "surprises", IIRC) were two things I had issues with in that game. But a good slice of the dead-tree gaming press had treated SS2 like it had descended from the Empyrean with a host of seraphim and made me feel like I was some sort of deviant for not liking it. Sometimes, when the gaming press is being overwhelmingly positive it's nice to hear some negativity.

See? Lengthy response in all of 5 seconds! It's like a microwave oven, only on the Internet!

I find I agree with most of his opinions however by the time he has reviewed a game I have usually played it already, the only game I am in complete disagreement with was the dead space review as I think that was genuinley the best game of the last few years. Some of his more weird opinions I back tho like SR2>GTA4
