Dude, I would have LOVED for a teacher to be stupid enough to put his hands on me when I was in school, just to see my mom toss him into the ropes, clothes-lining him on the return, only to have my dad come screaming off the top rope with an atomic legdrop.

Cause I'm like, 99.999999% sure that's what would have happened. My 'rents are cool, and they didn't take kindly to no one else laying a hand on their kid.

wow, thats kinda crazy.. how far away from you is this school, did you go to this school? do you know of the teacher,
tell me more, tell me more?

When you say thats kinda crazy in reply to : silver wolf009:
That just horrible, im ashamed its in my country and near me.

What is kinda crazy about silver wolf009's comment? I think it's horrible and I'm ashamed too. Why do want to know if silverwolf009 went to this school and how far away they are from this school? Tell me more? Tell me more? What's that about?

That happened recently and i'm pretty sure you dont need you parents to sort out anything when you are 16. It was more on the joke side too and i also feel sorry for his 70 year old ass...

I think the girl's a little young to handle it, but from 9th grade on I'd be okay with teachers writing loser on the papers of the biggest idiots in the class. Also, as an extra, "you'll never be successful and the sole purpose of your existence is to provide cheap labor".
You as well need to learn about something called "constructive criticism". Just because a person does poorly on a test doesn't mean they're an idiot either, maybe they're just not studying. Maybe they need motivation to improve their marks. Calling someone a name isn't going to help anyone or anything. ANY comments on a test should be about the material, not about the student themselves. I don't care if it's Kindergarten or Post-secondary education.

The teacher, and any like them should be fired, plain and simple. If they can't do their jobs properly go get a new one.
By "idiots" I don't mean people who did bad on one test, but people who constantly get bad grades and yet can't be bothered to do their homework or study. I mean the people who don't care about school and are constantly annoying and distracting in class and don't respect the teacher. I've seen my fair share of these people and think that those are the ones who would deserve such comments on their papers.

We need more teachers like him. At least he says what he thinks instead of being a pussy and gives cold, hard motivation instead of the usual crap like "Oh honey it will get better". If she cant take adversity and challenges then get out of the school.
Quote for truth

Seriously it's about time that a teacher called it as he saw it.
Erm. Okay.

It's 6th grade.
She isn't being called a loser because she gets bad marks, he's getting bad marks because the teacher thinks she's a loser.

Done anything to change your opinion?

Teachers are honest all the time. At least here, anyway. I spent a whole term having every single English essay handed back to me. He was honest and said they needed x, y, and z every time, but he never once personally insulted me. That's not something teachers should do.

This is actually a horrible news report.. You only hear 1 side of the story... I'm not going to say anything unless they aimed to be more professional about it..
Well said.

Teacher called a student a "loser" oh diddums. Get over it. Personally found it quite funny.

I saw this on Yahoo news thingy this morning and I do have to say it's pretty harsh. -20% for being a loser? What kind of logic is that? It's straight up mean dude.

I could sort of understand if it was just some angsty teenager trying to be cool and edgy by saying he hates everything but this is a 6th grade girl!

Well I hope the issue has been sorted out, and that no one here loses their faith in humanity for the sixteenth billionth time. I can appreciate teacher honestly but bullying is wrong. I prefer to be told I have no talent in a subject that falsely believe I could take it.

I'm gonna lose a lot of karma points here, but I like the dude.
Only if he has a good reason!

I have some teachers that go the same way at my school. And it's all beacause they don't want the crack-smoking, class-skipping, mobile-phone-stealing, alcoholic, slacker, pupils to end up being a nuisance to society.

Let me give you an example:
My 6th grade physics teacher, always said that some individuals in my class would fail at life. It was the greatest insult he could ever say, that demoralised you and made you start working and learning. Six years later, some of the "slackers"(those that haven't changed their ways) are facing some difficult situations at the moment. They will probably fail their finals exams and now graduate school, thus having no real chance to pursuit their goals(most of them what to become economists and pilots).

Oh, and for those how say that they can make a living while working at a fast food:
Well in my country the economical crisis is so bad(we were already in recession even before the darn American business men fucked up the economy), that without a high school diploma and a fuck load of luck, you don't have any chance to get even an underpaid fast food job.
40% of the nation is unemployed. You can get a job only after you become 21. And till 30 no one what's you because you have no experience/diplomas. I mean come on!

But short answer: Losers(real ones, not those people who are just fat, or unpopular) deserve
to be called that way, because maybe that'll motivate them to start learning and working, and stop wining about how poor they are.

Well, the trick in leading people (as a teacher does) is knowing how to get the best out of them. There isn't one approach for everyone. With some people it requires telling them off to motivate them, with others it's the softly-softly approach.

The point I'm making is that censure is not always going to be destructive. Having said that, doing this to a very young child can hardly have happy consequences.

That teacher needs a slap (6th grade is what? 11 years old?). Duty of a teacher is to educate and motivate, not kick in the teeth.

On the other hand it is more legit a thing to write on the school work of a nihilistic sneering little bastard or 16 or 17 to give them a kick in the pants and a reminder that the notion of "education is for losers" will mean that your options in adulthood are seriously reduced.
