This happening in high school? Sure.
Sixth grade? That's a bit early, I think.

Sure, it's still pretty damn funny, but slightly less acceptable.
I think its pretty funny as well, but at the same time kind of sad that a grown man needs to belittle his Gr.6 students.

That this happened in real life is terrible, yes, but were this a skit on SNL or something, it'd be hilarious.

I mean, c'mon... the teacher calling a little girl a loser? Writing it all over her papers? That's comedy gold right there.

To a year 6? That's harsh. But something seems a bit dodgy about this story, if has been teaching there for 12 years how come he hasn't been called for this shit before? I can say with confidence that we are not getting the full story, though you're not going to in a two minute news report.

We need more teachers like him. At least he says what he thinks instead of being a pussy and gives cold, hard motivation instead of the usual crap like "Oh honey it will get better". If she cant take adversity and challenges then get out of the school.
We need more people like this teacher to help to what the school system won't do really show who the people who should go to graduate and the ones who need a good hard slap into reality.

Something in this does not compute. The fact that they stress a personnel issue and the fact that no one else wanted to go on camera? perhaps something is happening between the mother and the teacher?

Too little info for the full monty, but with all due respect... unless the 6th grade girl in this case is being a total little snoot who already calls other people losers, calling her out like that is probably a bit much.

Well, I guess it's better to tell her now so she can prepare for it later in life.

EDIT: Also.... whaaaaaah! I went to a Catholic school where I got my ear pulled on by nuns, and when I acted out beyond the norm I got whipped with a switch by the principal, or the paddle.... god the paddle. And I was no older then this girl.
hey me to, but that was back in K-4th, nuns are a bit scary when they get mad

Is nobody else thinking that it could be a joke between the teacher and the students?

Notice how the girl said nothing on the subject if the comments; in fact, the mother didn't even attempt to make it seem like she did. Notice how other parents are siding with the teacher - if this has been going on for so long, why is only one person complaining? There would be an uproar if it was news to them, which means the most logical conclusion is that they do in fact know about the teacher's methods, and are okay with them.

My primary school teachers did things like this all the time. I'm glad none of their jokes were taken out of context because of [seemingly] one woman's vendetta against a teacher.

More teachers need to do this just to get the pc brigade to tear the bubble wrap off the children. Until then shine on you crazy loser.

Hey! A lot of people from everywhere are backwards, thank you very much. That's a rather bigoted, condescending attitude of people based on a single factor, i.e. where they live.

I'm born and raised in Noff Cackalacky and everyone I talk to here at my hotel says they love the people here and our hospitality.

I guess what I'm saying is, don't toss the whole bushel of apples cause one's got a bad spot.

Unprofessional, completely disrespectful and downright rude

I don't like the teacher and I think she should be either seriously disciplined or layed off completely

It's funny, but seriously, seriously wrong. I mean, 20%? Just because he didn't like her? Even if you get a perfect score, that's a B-.

I have even more family here. They think people that aren't from here can be weird, but we don't use it as a blanket idea about anyone in particular like you seem to enjoy doing.

Oh, trust me, you can find weird people anywhere. They aren't tied to one spot was my point.
