Considering that the kid is not even definitely the father (others are claiming paternity) it is a lot more serious than it was when first announced.
I see o_O

That's news to me. Well... If that's the case... I... Don't know >_>
Wow, that girl...must be a real slut.;;
Other then that, I don't understand how they could even HAVE sex. Look at her, she's like twice his size. It's just...ew.

I don't know about your Sex-Ed, but ours was pretty much "okhay, you all know how to have sex, remember, condoms are good but it feels better without them, oh, and being gay is okay".

So yeah... The Sex Ed system really needs to be improved.

Like I said in reply to Machines Are Us, I'm not saying in any way that these children should be encouraged to have kids or that having kids is "OK". I'm merely saying that, in this specific instance, I don't think there should be that big of an issue.
Fair enough.
In this specific instance, I would agree that the parents seem willing to help out.

I 'm speaking on more of the broad topic, to which I hold that no teen should assume mom and dad will help, and only be extremely grateful if they do (When in such an unfortunate situation).

You know, I have an issue with people calling girls sluts like that. Why exactly is she a slut? Because she had sex? Are girls not allowed to have sex? If you're talking about the whole paternity thing, maybe, but I don't know, it might not have been voluntary. Usually it isn't.
Well when it gets to the point where you sleep around(with underage kids no less)so much that you don't even know who might be the father of your baby, then I think it's sufficient to call someone a slut. But hey, that's just me.

Lower class people are too stupid and/or poor to use condoms.
What can you do...

The thing that baffles me most with this case it that a 13 year old who looks like a ten year old, got into a 15 year old girls pants. Plus he has the mind of a ten year old apparently...

I can sort of understand this kind of thing if the girl was the baby but... How desperate was she?

Not because she had sex, but because there's like 3 other guys that claims fatherhood. meaning she had sex with at least 4 guys at roughly the same time. That makes her a slut.

on topic: Have an abortion, problem solved.

I'm mildly sickened by the posted story so i wont comment further on that.

Anyway im 16 and in my year theres already been at least 2 pregances (abortions not counted) and ive heard rumors of 2 more... Its insane, the worrying thing is that it hasnt been limited to the stupid slutty types either. Is this the same up and down the country>

I don't know, when it comes to incest, people tend to not like talking about that. I wouldn't call having sex with your father "sleeping around". It might just be me, but that kind of thing tends to not be voluntary. Tends.
I'm sorry but um, what are you referring to here exactly...? you kinda lost me there. I didn't notice any mention of the girl sleeping with her dad.

I'm sorry, i cant seem to find the article now:/ but it was in norwegian anyway:p
Also, it might not have been 3. My point was that she was sleeping with more than one guy at roughly the same time:)

Your syntax is flawed my friend.

Underage sex is very stupid for loads of reason, so they have no one but themselfs to blaim, i say make abortions illegal for underage people, if they are mature enough to have sex then they are mature enough to know what can happen, so i say let them live with their misstakes.
Abortion is a very...tricky subject. I see what your saying but that in turn means the baby may suffer and it's not really fair to bring a new life into a messed up situation. On the other hand is it fair to terminate a life because it's inconvenient? I don't know....just thinking about that kind of thing depresses me and makes my brain hurt.
It is indeed a very tricky subject, which is why safe sex is such an important part of the educational plan, cause whatever grown-ups say kids will keep fucking around cause they arent smart enough to realise that having sex is the actual way babies are made.

Which is why i say its their own fault, they learn about the hazzards of it in school yet they still choose to keep doing it, so they(the teenagers) deserve all they get, be it STD's or teenage pregnancy.

So when it comes to how to deal with them its not a problem, the problem comes with the child being brought into the world, which the only reasonable solution to is Adoption, atleast according to me.
Yes it's very questionable whether or not underage parents should even be allowed a chance to take care of their babies, ofcourse each case should be based on it's own merits but on the whole I would say that it's probably not a good idea. They should be able to put 2 and 2 together and realise that's how people get pregnant but they obviously seem to ignore that part. On the whole though I agree with you, they should have to learn the hard way if they make mistakes like that, I just feel sorry for the child. I feel the general state of this country adds to the problem in general, I believe it's been mentioned previously that we have the highest rate of teen pregnancy in the world which isn't exactly something to aspire to! I can't wait to leave this place lol.

Personally I am totally against teenage pregnancies. If at thirteen or nineteen, I'm against it. And I don't think that the legal age should be 16 either (off the topic for the kids above, but either way). I'm 16, and I'm one of possibly 2 virgins I know in the group of about 20 people I hang around with. Not that I'm saying they shouldn't, I'm just dead set against it, meaning I wouldn't do it myself.
But seriously. Having a legal age as low as 16 is basically encouraging people to have kids at that age; and the fact these teenage pregnancies of under 16s is being publicised on the news, that also basically encourages kids to have kids at young ages. It's not as though there aren't enough unwanted kids as it is, without bringing more into the world.

Teenager Alfie Patten may not been a father at 13 after all, amid allegations that the mother has had several other sexual partners, it has been reported.
The case of Alfie - who was just 12 when the baby was conceived - has already provoked a fierce political debate over the high rate of teenage pregnancies in the UK and the sexualisation of children.
But two other teenagers believe they may have fathered six-day old Maisie, whose mother Chantelle Steadman is herself just 15.
Richard Goodsell, 16, told a Sunday paper that he also shared a bed with the teenager at her home in Eastbourne, East Sussex, at around the time she became pregnant.
Richard, a trainee chef, said: "I know I could be the father. Everyone thinks I am. My friends all tell me that the baby has my eyes - even my mum thinks so.
"Even Chantelle's mum asked me if I was the father."
He added: "If I am the father, I have the right to know."
Richard, who told the paper he slept with Chantelle with the consent of her parents and without using any contraception, said he plans to demand a DNA test is carried out to find out the truth.
Chantelle lives with her mother, Penny, and father, Steve, in a council house on the Old Town estate.
Tyler Barker, 14, also told the paper he could have fathered Maisie, born at the Eastbourne District General Hospital last week.
He said he slept with Chantelle around nine months ago, again in her own bed.
Both boys and their parents are reported to have made sworn statements in front of a solicitor detailing their encounters with Chantelle.

i wholeheartedly agree with the fact that the sex. ed system needs to be radically improved.
At my school I think the only thing they showed us was a video of a woman giving birth.
Oh, and "genital health"...that was just odd.
There was no mention of sex at all actually now that I try and remember...Might have something to do with the fact that I go to a Catholic Private secondary school... curious...

Bodies react the same way? Ok i guess, but it is still the best way to deal with it imo, but then i don't have any problems with abortion.
and neither should you, unless it's your own body.

Conclusion: Get a better Sex Ed system.
/high five

Teenage bodies are developing much faster than they were, say, 20 year ago. Their minds aren't developed enough to understand why Condoms and Birth Control are necessary. Even if we did introduce sex education at earlier ages, it wouldn't make a difference. Current sex education in schools is horrible and would just confuse the children even more and push them to having sex just to understand wtf was going on.

I suggest we start using chastity belts again!!

The only person in this whole mess I truly feel sorry for, is the child itself. Who knows what that child is gonna grow up learning.

Hey, here's a word that hasn't been thrown into the mix yet....

ADOPTION!!!

Everyone always forgets about freaking ADOPTION!!!

This whole thing can be cleared up a LOT easier than sex-ed and abortion. First, ground the boy for having sex, and now that he's had it, educate him. Second, Ground the girl for having sex with a prepubescent (and ask her how the hell that happened too). Third, set the kid up for ADOPTION. I'm sure there's parents out there that would LOVE to have this child for their own because they can't themselves. This way, the baby has proper upbringing, the parents can forget about the situation, and people can live as normal lives as possible after this.

So apparently it's all her parents' fault for knowing and allowing her to have sex with other(more underage?) boys in their own house.
And I seriously doubt this is one of those "well they're going to do it anyway, might as well provide them the safe environment to do so" crap. Looks like her parents are just stupid.

The problem with adoption (here on Norway atleast) is that you have to have the kid for 3months before you can put it up for adoption. And after 3months it is far less likely that you are prepared to give up your child.
