The teen pregnancy scare is just fear-based news manufactured by the media. Teen pregnancy has declined decade after decade since they started tracking it in the 70s.

Teen pregnancy isn't a good thing. But it's only as much of an issue as Y2K, terrorists, and killer bees coming up from South America and killing us all.

I actually I believe Fronken already mentioned it, but thats besides the point. You're right I would say adoption over abortion anyday, people are starting to treat abortion like some kind of birth control and I think thats pretty sick. Adoption procedures (certainly in this country, England) are pretty lengthy and people have to be checked out to make sure they're not weird peadophiles or something, but apart from that its probably the best case scenario. Still a shame that the child may never know it's real parents, if they are ignormant enough to never try to get in touch. Not sure if they're allowed to actually....anybody know the answer to that?

We already agree that there's a lot bad with this post, so just go with it. Also, at least in the US, 18 is an adult, and therefore over the legal age, and therefore not classified as a teenage pregnancy. So you're more dealing with semantics, actually...

The problem with adoption (here on Norway atleast) is that you have to have the kid for 3months before you can put it up for adoption. And after 3months it is far less likely that you are prepared to give up your child.

These people aren't in Norway, so I think my argument still applies. Also, that 3 month thing must be to try and stop/slow random "baby-popping" (if you will) like this. Because you're much more likely to stop stuff like this if you have to deal with the baby afterwords. Consequently, what's the law on Abortions in Norway?, because banning abortions would also stop random pregnancies too.

Well as long as your child was brought up happy then there isn't a problem. Not in my eyes anyway. That's why I'm trying to careful by saying underage pregnancy as opposed to teenage pregnancy, there's a difference.

No, the are no from Norway. so meh to that argument.

The law on abortion in Norway is pretty normal. Abortion is permitted up until the 13th week of the pregnancy. It can be performed after this, but only if the life of the mother is at risk.

Also, i do no believe that banning abortions will stop kids from having sex.
I personally never used a condom when sleeping around when i was in my teens, the thought of making the girl/s pregnant did not even cross my mind.

I doubt he is the father - after reading a few news articles on the subject it seems no party has really had any confirmation it is their baby (3 or 4 people are claiming it is theirs) the reluctance for the mother to see the "father" is also interesting.

If it is his, I think it should be given to child-services. Lets just say the kids parents arn't exactly trustworthy - not only have they apparently actively encouraged underage sex, but are selling their story - the people involved would have had better security had they killed someone - photos, interviews, etc... are all being published on this topic, and the adults are actively milking it.

Anyway im 16 and in my year theres already been at least 2 pregances (abortions not counted) and ive heard rumors of 2 more... Its insane, the worrying thing is that it hasnt been limited to the stupid slutty types either. Is this the same up and down the country>

Anyway im sickened because its bad for them and their kid, its massively irresponsible and its happened to the couple i respected most. They are not whoring themselves, they are taking pictures with little clothes on. there's a slight difference. There is also plenty of guys that would want to date them after thoose pictures. Attention? who does not want it?

On topic, preventative education is the only answer. For example, here in the US, when you look at states that adopted the "Abstinance Only" form of Sex Education, their teen pregnancy rates were significantly higher than states that didn't adopt that teaching model.

Point is, you're not going to stop kids from having sex. All you can do is teach them about safe sex, show them where to get condoms, teach them how to use them (oh yes, there are those out there who don't know), and hope that they choose to be smart about having sex.

By the way, I think you're confusing 'dating' and 'wanting to sleep with'. If you show guys boobs, they're not going to think about 'oh, this girl must have such a smashing personality, how I would love to spend some non-sexual quality time with her'. That's what people call 'attention whoring'. You lose people's respect whe you do that. But I'm sure you'll come up with something to support their behavior anyway.

And I never said that society judging is a good thing. But people are going to express their opinions. You can't stop that, so you might as well deal with it.
