Well, a human could defend themselves, and even if not, there are institutions that will prosecute the offenders. Animals do not have that luxury. Plus it's pretty damn sickening to watch people torture animals for fun. I know we are a violent species, but at least we tend to only murder each other...

People do care when humans suffer but the fact is humans have a chance to defend themselves, this cat didn't. Governments need to stop being pussies and enforce some sort of corporal punisment, preferably castration so these abominations don't have a chance to reproduce.

Sorry if I sounded like I was one of those people who don't give a shit about the cat because I do care about the cat and think the people who set it on fire are sick fucks.

Shit like this happens every day, and shit worse than this happens to other human beings every day, too. Should these kids get punished? Yes. Should they get "set on fire so they can see how it feels?" No! They're just stupid kids doing stuff for attention.

Could have been in one of the U.S. border states. I live in CA, far enough north that i don't actually have any contact with any of the gangs but i hear about them. They kill each other over "turf" or because your wearing the wrong color in the wrong part of town. They'd be more than capable of doing something this.

Edit: I'd just like to clarify, it doesn't disturb me because it's a cat. It disturbs me that someone could get so much enjoyment out of something senselessly violent. At least using crazy person logic, the puppy incident was understandable.
