This just means its spreading. Its a good thing. Sooner or later we'll come up with better things and then they will become cliche. Its an endless cycle. Until the world ends.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Rig (as in a gaming PC).
Um, may I ask why?

I play bass guitar, and I have an amplifier, speaker cabinet, tuner and cables that all go together, and I refer to that as my bass rig. I also have a mixer, amplifier, speakers, stands cables and microphones, and I refer to that as my PA rig (don't get snarky, it translates to Personal Address Rig, which is just as valid as PA system.)
So what's so grating about refering to my processor, ram, hard drive, graphics card, optical drives, motherboard, case fans and cables as a rig? Certainly if you look inside, it resembles a net rigging.

Of course, this comes from a guy who got bitched at for saying 'epic' in a game the other day, and had to explain that I literally meant that I was anticipating a long and arduous event, not just something 'zomg totally leetzors'.

I remember that I was kind of pissed, because my friends and I used to joke about things being 'fail', in the adjective sense ('that was fail'), then we discovered 4chan and it was in use in a pretty different sense there (this is early 2005, mind you. prior to 1mil get. oh christ, i just proved what a disease i am, didn't i?)

God I hate this on so many levels.
my god, i left that one out. you know what? anyone who leet speaks should die in a fire
So true. Leet is not a language, it's numbers and letters, dammit.

I also hate the term "Pay to Play". Anything that limits your playing, either on a free game or not, is annoying as hell.

it is really creepy when people say "RL" over voice chat
Now HERE is what pisses me off in general: PEOPLE WHO ANNUNCIATE ABBREVIATIONS!
What - the - fuck: it adds an additional layer to the cognitive process, where you have to first divine what the letters stand for, then how that term relates to context. SPEAK ENGLISH, YOU DIP-SHITS!

Also, my friend once complained about people who were discussing Earthworm Jim, but kept vocalizing it as E-J-W.
Earthworm Jim - 3 syllables
E J W - 5 syllables

SO STUPID

"Lol"

I really, REALLY dont like it. Or anything else that signifies laughter, like "Lmao" "Rofl"

A "Heh" would suffice.

I used to hate the term "n00b", until the term "nub" came out. WTF IS A NUB! I mean, I kind of miss being called a "n00b"...

Oh and if you have played Warcraft 3 on battle.net, "retard" is passed around quite a bit...

EDIT: correction, I don't like being called a "n00b" nor do I even like the term, I just prefer that over "nub"...

I find myself 'loling' at stuff that's only mildly funny, then when I actually laugh at something I'll type hahahaha or heh. People who say lol in real life, now there's a punch in the tit.

If you play Gears or Halo on Xbox Live, the words '******' and 'douche' get VERY old.
Those are the main reasons I wish I could punch someone through a mic. There should be a law against prepubescents buying headsets...

I realized this when the preppiest and most retarded people in my PE class started saying "EPIC FAIL" when their opponent screwed up. It was a sad day.

Leet speak or 1337 or whatever, it/they need to die.
Urban Dictionary says:

"Once used by the hacker community as sort of a sub-culture language, ANYONE using this type of speak in the present day in age is either:

A) A clueless net newbie who somehow thinks its still "cool" to speak this way.

B) A veteren net user who uses it to parody the type of people mentioned in example A.
u r n0t 1337 d00d!!11"

I hate the term Toon.

Also hate the "words" U 2 and a few other of the whole text speech bull crap.
Also Powerleveling, Twitch games, and some other terms that are often used as insults.

also hate when games label items as Epic or Unique. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE DA$$ THING ISN'T UNIQUE. :/

Personally though, I like the term Uber. I use it a lot with other German words. Danke, mein uber fuer.

I use meatspace when refering to real life. It's not yet been done to death.

Also, reading more of the responses I'm reminded that I HATE internet abrevation and/or 1337 garbage. I'm a pretty tolerant guy but the minute I see someone use the letter u to replace the world you (and it's not sent from a cell phone) my opinion of the person drops rapidly.
