Dear Sir: you just did what several recommendation threads couldn't: convince me to buy Recettear. Or at any rate, play the demo.
Remember those, AAA publishers? Those things you used to make to convince people that your game will be worth playing by giving them a small taste of the
gameplay, rather than just the art style and animation quality? Why don't you make those any more? It doesn't hurt you much to get a programmer or two to spend a couple days making a version of the game with the first couple of missions, which you can then release online for free to get people interested in your game. These days, you just release a trailer that takes out all the possibly-bad bits and say 'Ehh, good enough, everyone'll want this game even though they don't know how it plays, gullible saps!'
(Never mind that you tend to be right anyway...)
OT: I tend to avoid games that the rest of the community does, so I don't often play real stinkers.
