Here we are watching a tragedy unfold and some of us feel it's appropriate to use this time to ridcule religions. Stop it please. This is not the appropriate place or time.
I agree, currently there is very little we know about the shooter/bomber and to say anything now would only serve to offend someone.

I'm almost speechless.

I've followed the news (and this thread) extensively during the past day, seeing this escalate to this extent. But I've yet to express my deep sorrow for what has happened.

This man has not only brutally murdered probably more than a hundred individuals, caused severe property damage (which is not at all a big deal in comparison), and caused severe long-lasting psychological trauma on probably thousands of individuals and likely minor trauma to many more.

This will ripple though Norway for decades to come. No living being could ever justify causing such pain. I wish on him the worst fate the universe has to offer.

I hope the guy doesn't get the death penalty, no, I hope they make him suffer every single second of the rest of his life.
Quick check told me he won't. Norway doesn't have death penalty.

I'd like to correct myself. Anything anyone says that says that his actions are somehow natural for those who hold the same mainstream religious/political views is wrong. This is neither the time nor the place for that kind of talk.

The maximum sentence in Norway is 21 years. I do not think that is enough.
You do realize trying to squish everything out of him through sentences is typical of angry people wishing the same upon him but you have to realize that he is going to die anyway like any other normal human being and if people carry on acting this way we are no better than those that commit the crime and we are stuck in a continuous loop of throwing punches at one another and will never evolve past that.

As much as he deserves prison i know he is going to die and that's good enough for me to acknowledge his punishment.

Captcha: Happy Trails.
He has an enormous debt to pay to our society, to our people. His humanity is not defence enough. There must be justice.
What kind of justice because either way you look at it he's going to die anyway and once he's dead nothing more can be done.

It's not about what happens, it's aboout how and why. I am not saying he needs to die for what he has done (though I may feel that way), but he must be punished, and I don't feel that 21 years is enough.

I love the irony how so many people were screaming about islam when this happened, and look who it turned out to be? A white, christian, right wing. Why am I not surprised?

I feel so bad for the kids. All they were doing was trying to have some fun during their summer vacation and look what happens? Some mentally insane jagoff comes in and starts shooting at them for NO FUCKING REASON. I feel for you Norway, I really do.

One thing that makes me proud of my country, is the fact that the blood banks in the bigger cities had to ask people to go home because there where too many concerned people who came to donate, thats even in the hospitals in the other parts of the country.

to make a comparison, this is just as if New York-ers came together to donate blood after an attack on LA.

That impressed me as well. Also how the media covered it, without any sort of finger-pointing at all. Very objective, only working on facts that was known to be true. No speculation.

All i'm trying to say is that while you find 21 years not enough for punishment his eventual death is going to be just as deserved.

How's that gun control working for you Norway? I thought banning guns took them out of the hands of criminals and the insane.
His guns were legal. Banning guns has nothing to do with this.

This is why I always will say that guns should be banned. No matter how many people do use them properly it doesn't stack up against innocent people getting killed.

You need to take away what terrorists use not the terrorists themselfes, I mean this is a prime example. One man did this all it takes is one man, a sick mind and access to weaponry. If you do that all that's left is a man with a sick mind.

This is a very sad day indeed. My thoughts go out to all the people who died and their families and friends.
