Ya, I had a friend like that. I haven't heard from him in two weeks, after I told him to F**k-off over the phone for bugging another one of my friends to get a ride to my place.

Life has be quite peaceful since then...its nice.

Well I generally consider myself to be a dickhead friend but this guy seems like a total douche not just the normal ass hole like myself.

I would probly stop talking to him.

Thank fuck for paragraphs~

OT: I do have a friend like that. He also constantly makes jokes about being Mexican that're incredibly stale, and thinks that everything he does is just the funniest thing.
I got so angry at him once that I grabbed him and almost threw him against a wall in my Japanese class for calling everyone a Jewish Nazi. I didn't take offense, it was just REALLY annoying, and he acted like he was oh so smart saying it. >.<
I honestly don't know why I'm still friends with him.

I have a friend who is kind of like that, but not because he thinks he's edgy or anything, he just tries too hard. He never stops talking when others tell him to, and he makes some of the most awkward jokes in the world. He's still likeable, and we hung out alot before I moved away, but it's still worth saying.

I have a friend that thinks he's so politically savvy, when he has NO CLUE what the fuck he's talking about. He also pretends to be better than everyone because he's in the drumline for marching band, and he blames FUCKING EVERYTHING that happens on the hornline (which I'm in). In fact, ANYTHING that happens gets the blame passed on to someone else. Not only that, but he rarely shows a shred of humanity. I've seen it once, and I was absolutely shocked to see him feel a human emotion other than rage and selfishness.

Even worse is that he tries to peer pressure me into going to everything. He tried to get me to go to Friendly's at 10 pm and I was TIRED(I was running on 4 hours of sleep after 7.5 hours of school and 5.5 hours of marching band). I tell him I'm tired and he says "OH, IT'S FRIDAY NIGHT, YOU CAN'T WASTE FRIDAY NIGHT!" and follows me trying to force me into going and being an overall *****. I finally just tell him to go fuck off and I discover he has the sense to back off. This was especially annoying since the one thing I hate more than ANYTHING is people trying to pressure me into doing things I don't want to. It drives me INSANE.

Also, he hangs with the nerds, and tries to be as cool as possible. It's hilarious. Everyone else in our group enjoys playing games to some degree, as does the dumbass (as he will be referred to from now on). However, dumbass plays it down way too much. He's not playing Modern Warfare 2 either, he's playing shit like Kingdom Hearts, and he tries to convince us he's not a nerd. Oh, did I mention he's in at least 4 AP classes in junior year? Yeah, not a nerd my ass. Sure, he gets girlfriends when the rest of us don't, but they all generally hate his guts by the end of the relationship.

I'm kinda blowing off steam here, so excuse me. He can actually be cool, on very rare occasions. Usually he's a douchebag. The only reason we hang with him is because one of my friends is extremely conservative, and dumbass is the only other real conservative in the group.

While I sure as hell do not do most of the things you've listed above, I often feel as if I am said dickhead friend in my circle of friends.

Not that I've ever been called out on it, but my self awareness makes me sad sometimes.

In high school bunch of people used to think I was that friend, because the person that WAS that friend, went around convincing everyone I was a total douche, then one day we all sat around and actually talked, and everyone was like yo, Jimson your actually really smart X said you were an idiot, and a total douche bag, and all other kinds of mean shit, trust me, I went off on him when i found him, we pretty much excluded him from our group of friends, and he even went around trying to spread lies that I was Gay (Theres nothing wrong with being gay and all that shiz, my parents are very conservative and if they ever found out I was really gay they would disown me)

Ugh, talk about Wall Of Text (I read it, though)

Anyway, yeah, those kinda friends can be annoying. I've had few of them myself. But to be honest, I've been similar person sometimes too. And sometimes you don't even see it yourself.

Thank God my friends then talked to me about it. So that's what you should try too. Talk to him.

"being one of those annoying atheists who can't just not believe in religion"

That was unnecessary, also a little hypocritical.

Tell me about it.

This friend of mine, is always harrassing everyone. Just to have a laugh out of it, for example he know goes into classrooms at lunch time and just lays face down on the floor for kicks. He think's he is so tough but when one of the very popular kids gets on his ass, he shits himself.

And for fuck sake, i get most of the shit from this guy. He can be funny, but most of the time he's just taking the piss out of me.

Perhaps we should set up both of our asshole friends and they can stay together. Imagine the stupidity they would get up with together.

And, oh yeah i read the whole paragraph. :D

tl;dr.

But I have a friend like that, thinks he's Christ on a cracker. Especially in WoW, he acts like he knows everything there is to know, and while he's not bad at it, he's a dick the entire time.

I'm proud of myself. Read through the wall of text and all of the replies (except for the ones that were just repeating what the OP said).

I actually found some of those characteristics in myself, but mostly in a milder form. I do laugh at some religious people, but I don't think that the majority of religious people believe in shit like (I actually found this in a comment section of a newspaper): dinosours existed before adam and eve but where killed by god because humans back then fucked animals. My jokes are often a bit inappropriate, but I (think I) know when to stop. I don't really rant on politics too much, unless I actually bother reading about it first. On the other hand, most of the people like the person in the OP think this way, so maybe I am a bit of a dick myself.

And on friends who annoy me: I have a friend, who just makes fun of everything I do, doesn't seem to have any respect for me and makes absolutely retarded claims like "scifi and games cannot be art because they are being used by nerds. I'm a victim of society". When I mention about this, she just gets really angry. I talk about this to my sister, she immediately tells my friend and she gets even more angry. I wonder why I even bother to hang out with people like this.
