I very much agree, with the COD4 bit, at least. The ending has gotten a bit of a beating for being either irrelevant or superfluous, but I quite frankly enjoyed the chance to do a little more close-quarters combat set to a rousing score. I liken it to the rather cheap trick action movie directors pull off, where the main hero has an "AWESOME" moment at the very end that makes everyone in the audience, already high off the adrenaline, go "hellz yeah." It's cheap, but it works, and it made me happy.defcon 1 said:Final Fantasy X had a very good ending. Call of Duty 4 does rival FFX because of the song at the end, but more importantly, the bonus mission.
That being said, my favorite ending to a videogame is God of War, mainly because I'm part Greek and I enjoyed watching Kratos saunter up to the warthrone and claim his place in the Olympic Pantheon.
