I don't really care either way. I would be equally impressed, maybe even more so considering the British are the probably one of the best trained soldiers in the world. Soldiers die during war, yes I feel sorry for the poor man's family (on any side), but soldiers fight and they die.

I imagine I'd be more along the lines of, 'Holy gamooligans, they've got an awesome sniper!' instead of, 'Holy gamooligans, we've got an awesome sniper!'. It's not hypocrisy, I think most people were remarking on how they were fairly sweet shots and... some are saying that the British army are the best trained and this proves it. Not so sure about that bit, myself, though.

Makes me wonder why one would bother armouring tanks much at all, then. Especially with that new anti-missile forcefield tech the Brits are making.

I believe that if the armor weren't thick enough, the impact from small-arms fire would make tiny chips of metal inside the tank to explode all over the place and tear up the guys inside it. Early tank crews used to wear chainmail hoods to protect their faces from shrapnel.
