Alas! I did not know that there was no option to add polls post thread creation. Ah well.

People will likely put up their opinions anyway, so tell me: which conference has captured you the most?
Theres still Konami and Square-Enix conferences left?

Sony was the best one.

But the motion capture thing. Urg. Yeah Sony its nice but...the games where are they? Nintendo is doing the same thing now and putting out games, seems it ill take Sony almost one year to put out this new motion capture thing. I'll say the first game released with the new motion capture stuff will be a sort of Wii Sports.

Too much time lost on the PSP and Home.

Uncharted 2, ModracerKart(is it the right name?) and Assassins Creed 2 looked great.

MAG would have worked better on PC with a much bigger audience and mods! Can't see the PS3 doing justice to the concept. It also looks alot like Battlefield 2...but with alot of players. Then again I can be wrong.

FFXIII could have used a better trailer. It looked like a mess the battle system looks great. FFXIV a MMO? No...thank you.

God of War 3, seems like GoW 1/2 but with more blood and guts. Not that its bad but I'm not impressed by it.

But! I did really start thinking into buying a PS3, to play Batman:Arkham Asylum, Brutal Legend, LittleBig Planet, Uncharted 2, ModracerKart and FF13. But...money doesn't grow from trees Sony...how about a cheaper PS3? No? Okay...

No, it's not full body. The software using this device will not use full body motion. The Sony rep right here with me says it's mostly dependent on where the controller is in relation to the EyeToy 2. The only motion captured is from the light/emitter on the end of the controller. Which also signals to the EyeToy what implement you want to use.

The thing I'm being told is better than the Wiimote is that the controller has better rotational and distance sensing. That is, it senses how the controller is turned and how far it is from the EyeToy. Other than that, there is no plan to make it sense entire body motion. Well, not if they want to get this thing out by 2010.

EDIT: And holding it is ... weird. Not the final product, gratefully. And I'm on my way out to go home. See you guys later.
?

Why would they compare this to the Wiimote?

Well of course the wands won't be. But the eye toy itself is. I'd imagine the two fo them together could mimmick full body capture. Like..wehn he crouched in real life and he crouched on screen.. or when my nephwews used to run around and jump in front of the eye toy for hours on end
Hey there, someone understands.

Thumbs up, broseph.

Really? When do they show? They're not likely to reveal TOO much more... right?

I couldn'r agree more. I really do think this will play out just as it has in the past with the ps2 and 1st xbox. xbox starts strong, real strong, but at the end of the day PS comes out on top, and stays there. PS just seems to finally have their act together. Thats the good thing about not being top dog, you strive to be better.

Tomorow.

We probably going to see some FF13 gameplay, more info on FF14 MMO and other Square stuff.

Konami will mostly talk about the new Metal Gear Solid games, other Konami games and of course...Zone of Enders 3!(Yeah right....: (). But I won't be around to watch that cause I'll be in line to go watch AC/DC live woohooo!

Except they aren't.

See, they have to get this product out the door by 2010. They aren't presently working on full body capture, just the wands at this point. The rep said that they may upgrade it in the future to use full body capture, but they wanted to get the product out the door first. But the crouching was from the wands, not the body.

Here, this is the best example he actually gave me so I wouldn't be fooled by the demonstration into something that isn't there: When the developer uses the shield, the parts of the arm are not held in the exact same position as he's holding the wand. In fact, the arms on the arena figure are not motion captured - they just move as the wands dictate. In the future updates, they hope to capitalize on the fact that if you hold your arm a certain way, the EyeToy will pick that up and render it exactly as it is on-screen. But right now, it doesn't work that way.

And forward movement through levels will be controlled via a type of D pad on the wand from what I saw.

Funny enough, they are more interested in it having Home functionality first for some reason. And then a sports game package, etc.

Getting a shuttle here blows. Sitting around waiting for the shuttle.

Meh. I find myself decidedly unenthused. I'll skip on those, but people can feel free to post on them here.
Denied! Be professional dammit! You going to sit through 4 hours of conference of two companies you don't seem to care! Also Konami is revealing more of Silent Hill new game.

You didn't mention FF13 on the Sony wrap up.

Are you here, Oliveira8?

Man, don't tell me I missed a fellow Escapist who isn't staff here at E3.

EDIT: Leaving now, have fun people.

Simply put, this E3 was perhaps the best one ever with Sony coming in first, Microsoft coming in on a very close second and Nintendo has crashlanded somewhere in front of the finishline without actually finishing.

Its a toss-up between Sony and Microsoft - on one hand I found games I would like to play for both systems - and the presentation might have been the final push to get me to buy a PS3 - the Playstation has some good exclusives.

On the other hand - Natal definatly stole the show for me - especially if McClaud's information is accurate - Sony had better exclusives, and I'm excited with the large number of PSP games being released (they better release FF7 over here in Europe!).

In the end though- its the multi-platform games that looked better than any other out there - Modern Warefare 2 and Assassins Creed 2 are the two games I will certainly be getting (not that I wasn't going to buy them before) after seeing the gameplay footage.

Fuuuuck. Now I have to do it: you've wounded my pride. CURSE YOU!

But since G4 doesn't seem to be providing TV coverage of those, you must give me links for streaming. That is the price you pay for my opinion.

And that's due to the 404 I got: I'l add it back momentarily.

I think they will stream those 2 too. The links only open 30 minutes or so before the conference starts.

New Golden Sun game for DS. Heck....yes. Fans have waited for far too long.

Microsoft did pretty good this year, except for the whole 20 minute Racing game thing. And the whole...little British boy thing with the Natal, I thought that was a pretty cool concept. But...it was also incredibly awkward and creepy. I'm not sure if we should be messing with that kind of thing.

Well then, post them when they pop up. I'm presuming that the next one will start around 11?

Microsoft in my mind did the best w/ the Modern Warfare 2 gameplay footage. (I swear I burst from excitement.) and with their presentation of Rock Band: Beatles Ed. They spent too much time on Project Natal though IMO.

EA was a bit crap, seeing as they spent *way* too much time on the crap "girl oriented" games that no one buys and seeing as they only showed a brief trailer for Mass Effect 2. For christ sake, the prelude to E3 that BioWare released days before was longer and showed more than that trailer did!
