"SO, Mister Fionn, which one would you want more? The first one's a bit better for casting although it's only mildly stronger, the other gives a bit of casting away for a lot more durability."

Fionn stopped to ponder his choices, deciding on durability. There seemed to be a lot of swordsmen here, the gauntlet would be of more use now, and he needed durability. "I'll go for the second please. Looks like I'll need to practice my sword-arm then. " Fionn was among the best when it came to sword-fighting, but many of the crew here appeared to rival him. The fact that they dreaded the upcoming "onslaught" put the thought in his head that he needed some practice. Bloody hell, she can do all this on the spot? Fionn was stunned by the girl's speed.

"I'll go for the second please. Looks like I'll need to practice my sword-arm then. "

The girl quickly began working the newly formed alloy, forming it into the shape of the gauntlet. Fionn could see the grin on the girl's face as it began taking its final shape. As it began cooling, the two of them could see the alloy was mostly a rich purple with silver streaks, and the girl worked a little bit of magic into the gauntlets as she tempered the gauntlet.

After ten minutes of magically-aided cooling, the girl handed over the new gauntlet. "Go ahead, try your Colt on it!" Fionn drew his sidearm and fired a few rounds on the gauntlet, but the shots produced no damage.

"Well, since I know that you might be hindered slightly while using it, I went and put a few extras on it. It won't matter how cold or hot it gets if you have that on, and if someone tries attacking you with water, they'll get a big zap from it!

Moderate hot and cold resistance, incredibly durable, produces a moderate electrical charge when attacked with water-based attacks.

"Fionn was what you introduced yourself as correct? I wouldn't be very surprised from here on out with Melethia's capabilities... back where the two of us are from... there was hardly a place you could keep her out of, security is one of her strong points, both making it, and disabling it... she also seems quite adept at crafting things like the gauntlet she just gave you. And... she's blown up an airship or three, I agree it seems crazy, but I guess her age works for her in being easy to underestimate."

Fionn put on the gauntlet and looked at his hand, flexing his hand, wrist and fingers, it was surprisingly comfortable. The Gauntlet's color was in contrast with the rest of his attire (like everything else he wears). It was perfect for what he needed, "Fits like a glove....." He turned towards Melethia, trying to think of a way to repay her. "I owe you one don't I?", he grinned. "If you need anything, just ask.

"I've seen abilities like hers, but rarely in someone so young." He looked over the Gauntlet again, he had rarely encountered Pirates, spending most of his time dealing with Arcane threats. Yep, she's a real prodigy all right "Well this crew is becoming more and more fascinating by the day. I have to wonder what I could do around here other than hit or shoot things!"

If you need anything, just ask.

She laughs. "Yeah, just go and beat the crap out of those Fallen ones with me, okay? I wanna see my work in action. And if you wanna see if you can do something, try it out! You won't learn nothing by just saying you can't, mister Fionn!" she puts the gear back in her bag, making sure to retrieve every last scrap of the metal.

"And... she's blown up an airship or three, I agree it seems crazy, but I guess her age works for her in being easy to underestimate."

Melethia smiles. "Yeah, it's what they deserved for causing the rest of the Cove so much hell. And don't worry, Miss Kala, I already touched up the whole ship so it's up to my standards. Just go an tell me what room you're staying in so I can work the defenses a bit better there, okay?" Kalastryn remembered the defenses the girl had set up for her own room back home. They would've given Kundarak a run for their money! If anyone was going to reinforce the interior of the ship, it might as well be her.

Fionn was now determined to be at the front of the expedition. "Well, I'll have to make sure I'm at the top of my game, now that I have an audience and a critic." He turned and walked towards the training rooms, looking to test out his new equipment and devise some techniques. "I wonder if there is an armoury on board..." He set out on a stroll of the ship.

"actually come to think of it, this would be my first night aboard... guess I should try to find one and get back to you on that." she says as she gets up and pushes in her chair. "I think I'll take a walk around the ship and look for your mother to see if there is anything i can help with. I'll see you both later I hope" she takes a sip from her flask, then starts heading over to the medical room, checking there seemed a good idea, at least so she can also take stock of what medicines they have. After all, not everyone can cast healing spells, and some would have to rely on conventional medication.

Outside of Training from Hell

Teri nodded,
Code:
"Yes ma'am! Hmn... I'm pretty sure I know some kind of water-based spells, maybe they'd help?"
And with that, the girl followed after her teacher again to the infirmary.

Angelus

Angelus shook her head again, "The thickness of this human's skull... Very well, Tajuh. Despite your age, you do not understand me. That is fine; as many humans do. However, do not presume yourself to be higher than any other because of the experiences you have had. And although you may have not said so directly; in your words I have gleaned your hubris. You know full well why I am paranoid about others getting too close to the author; and you needn't act like I am a petulant child. If anything; when I gave you my advice, I was attempting to aid you; not act as a dictator for your actions; so you'd do well to get that thought from your mind.

Quit acting as if you know exactly my intentions and my thoughts, human; and get some help of your own. Obviously, you are just as pained as my Author from your past. Now, since we've already the matter of the Author out of the way; I shall be on my own. Good day."

Following that, the dragon left her seat and wandered down the halls to check on the Author herself; since she was mentioned so much.

"What a stubborn mortal. I swear, he twists what he hears to suit his own needs..."

Slindis shrugged. [color=c20000]"They could come into use. All you need to do is find a situation where it could come into play or think about a situation from a different angle. It's impossible to prepare for every scenario, but if you know about what you're going into, you can always aim to prevent the worst."[/color]

The two arrived in the infirmary, and Slindis started showing Teri the next tier of spells. [color=c20000]"Learn them. Learn their strengths, weaknesses, and how they may be used in different scenarios. If it helps, if you were writing about one of these characters, how could they use these abilities to work their way out of areas?"[/color]

Hallway outside Angelus' room

Tajuh stayed in the chair for quite some time after Angelus left, thinking on what she'd said. Who is she to say that I need to tell someone about my life? No matter what happens here, it's not likely that I'll be kept here for much longer than I already have been. How would that help? They'd know, but it wouldn't do a damn bit of good for anyone involved. Besides, they don't need to know everything about me. That's for me and me alone.

After a half-hour, he went back up to the bridge, Angelus' statement ringing in his head.

As the Pair debated on what spells to use, Teri saw a alert come up on her tablet.
Code:
"....Incoming Call?..."
The screen on her Tablet went into a Blue Screen Error for a moment before the caller revealed himself.
Lines of Sliver coloured code raced on a black background as it formed a face, that of Viscus to be exact.
Code:
"Observation: I would recommend using a Mic rather then a mental link. It ensures against sudden outbursts during heightened emotions."
The AI said as he spoke though the Tablet.
Code:
"My records show that Teri Gravel is starting to become a {Cleric} under the teaching of Slindis [RETRACTED]. This is a query that was requested by one of AIM's Senior Members not long ago:
[color=B4B400]"This thing on?....It is? Oh, I would like to know if Healers of your kind are able to create healing tonics with effects like that of my Lazer-......err.... Regeneration serums...and stuff like that which I am TOTALLY not working on....that is all....goodbye"[/color]
Code:
"May I get a answer on that? My Data banks have little on such topics."

Teri rolled her eyes and typed,
Code:
"Viscus, you know I can't talk; so I need the mental link to make this thing work with me sans typing. As for Cortex's question; does he think that I'm that stupid? I know what happened to Bruiser in the Lazerus Pit; so you can't fool me. So, no, I will not tell him anything about that. Is there anything else you'd like to ask?

Also, Ms. Slindis; I can see your reasoning there! For example, I could use Spiritual weapon as a means of defense; since physical arts are not my forte! I remember one of my friends back home specialized using a spear for their character's spiritual Weapon. It got all kinds of silly when they used multiple ones at the same time. Then again; they were also a favored soul, so that might have had something to do with it..."

Viscus came to that conclusion though looking though her medical records after the attack, He found nothing wrong with her vocal cords, but cross-referencing that with her Psyche Profile allowed him to fix that mistake.
Code:
"I retract my observation: Data was incompetent. Also, I will require a Answer to that question regardless, Dr. Cortex made his position clear and such information may assist in future projects. Personal objections are irrelevant."
He stated, clearly not one for human emotions, especially regarding the hatred between Teri and Bruiser.

Teri gritted her teeth, her aura flaring in anger,
Code:
"Well, too bad Viscus! My personal objectives outweigh AIM's for that answer! I WON'T SAY ANYTHING! YOU HEAR ME!? It's bad enough you brought that psycho back from the dead with that magic bullshit pit; but you expect me to just roll over and give you what you want just because it helps your organization; which I might add, I want nothing to do with, then you got another thing coming! FUCK YOU IN THE MOST METAPHORICAL SENSE GOD ALMIGHTY CAN THINK OF! Now get out of Dimitri, or I will use all the Author bullshit I can muster to [u][b]make you![/b][/u]! Or, better yet, I can sick Mark on you. He knows far more about IT than I do; and I'm sure he'd find you a fun challenge!"
As fate would have it, that was the point in which Angelus had walked into the Med bay, and heard all of that. Her eyes widened in horror, and a single; "What?!" was heard by the Paladin and Author.

Slindis looked at the screen with an eerie calm, and responded to Viscus' inquiry. [color=c20000]"Construct, there is absolutely no way to reproduce that. I have trained hundreds of clerics in my time, and that was a fool's errand. Now leave my pupil's communication device: we need to continue with our training."[/color]

Viscus remained calm though-out Teri's rant, though he found her knowledge of AIM's activities rather troubling.
But once Slindis gave him a answer, his task was done.
Code:
"Affirmative: Slindis [RETRACTED]. I will inform Dr. Cortex immediately. The Viscus MKIII. would like to thank you all for your co-operation."
He said, unaware of the extreme irony of what he just said.
And just like that, he left as soon as he came, the Tablet rebooting as he left.

Meanwhile, back in the captain's quarters, Rugal was still trying to get the knack of Lay on Hands when that aura he felt earlier re-surfaced, this time, it was not in a good mood.
Mmmm...Wonder what caused that?... He thought before he returned to his self teaching.

Slindis looked at the dragon while putting the spell tome back in Teri's hands. [color=c20000]"Yes, Angelus? I know who she is to you, but she is also my student. She needs to get back on the assignment I gave her, and I would prefer it if there weren't any distractions."[/color]

Code:
"And stay out of my computer!"
As the computer rebooted, and Viscus was long gone, Teri sniffed a little,
Code:
"I was trying to forget that... Asshole AI program Wesker... Sorry for the language back there ma'am..."
"No, your tone was understandable, for those who process emotions."

Teri whirled around, and blanched when she realized that Angelus had overheard the exchange between the three; the dragon's arms crossed, and her eyes remaining steely.

"Now, what I would like to know how long he's been alive; where he is, and how he still exists... Now, before you start apologizing; I am only angry that you did not tell me right away and eliminated the chances of him getting a drop on us in the future, if he were to show up again."

Teri's queasy face continued to look paler, but she silently tapped a few things on the touch screen; and showed Angelus the offending page;

Code:
"I don't know entirely what's going on; but I do know that an organization known as AIM is involved with supplying Cortex with a thing called a Lazarus Pit; which can resurrect the dead; sort of... Essentially, Bruiser is a kid again; but he remembers everything that's happened to him. I don't know much about this Organization, unfortunately, except for the fact that Wesker, Bruiser and Cortex are involved with it. Something about weapon supplies and whatnot."
"Hmn... But Rugal's hand has to be in here somewhere. He allowed Wesker's digital ghost onto this ship; after all."

Teri shook her head,
Code:
"I have faith in him, sort of. If he was working with the Heroes, whom he used to loathe entirely,"
"And still does."

Code:
"Okay, fine. But he's probably allowed Viscus for the same reason he's not fighting everyone else, to ensure our survival against Tomoya's hold."
The dragon could only shake her head in dismay at the girl. Had she taken pity on the Arch Villain? Maybe even, dare she think it; believe she could be friends with him? The thought alone was distressing. The dragon reminded herself to keep a closer eye on the Author; and gave a nod to Slindis' address,

"Apologies, Slindis. I was merely checking in. But I still find this revelation disturbing.... I shall have to speak with Caim about it. Good day."

After Angelus left, Slindis smirked before whispering to Teri. [color=c20000]"Well, you may never be able to brew something like what that Cortex requested, it doesn't mean that you can't cast a spell that can do that. Sure, you still have a long way to go before then, but it's not beyond you."[/color]

She stopped whispering and pointed to the First aid book as well. [color=c20000]"Now I want you to keep in mind that you can't forget the methods in this boook. No cleric that I trained walks away being completely dependent on their spells to heal someone."[/color] The Paladin flipped through the book, quizzing Teri on various topics in it at a high pace. What Teri would have found difficult the other day seemed much easier compared to the training Slindis had been putting her through, though.

Code:
"Of course. I don't have that many spells per day anyway."
Before she could give another thought about the plan, Teri found herself swept away in her quizzing; silently thankful for the crash course she had found herself in.

"Three levels in only a matter of days! Man, if my DM heard of this; he'd blow a gasket!"

The girl couldn't help but smile a little; but was quickly brought back to reality with:

"Teri! What is the poison created from powdered asphodel and wormwood?"

The girl stammered for a moment, and then was able to answer with
Code:
"Uh... It's a Sleeping Potion that can make the poisoned imitate Death itself! It's used by criminals to capture nobles, steal their valuables, and bury their victims alive."
"Good. Now pay closer attention. It could be a matter of life or death. The next question is..."

Time went on quickly for the student and teacher during this time; and by the end of it; Teri felt like her brains were going to turn to mush.
