"Oi! Let's move!" Severin yelled, his arm limp at his side. Sev and his men whistled, causing their horses to charge to their sides. They mounted up, and pursued the small band of retreaters. Into a forest the cavalry headed off and found the villagers, separate from the other, more oddly-formed members of the group. The others weren't in sight in the black forest, so attention was diverted, regardless, Severin kept a mental tab.
"There wasn't much food on that voyage, was there boys?" Severin roared, dismounting from his horse, sauntering over to the largest of the villagers, a monolith of a man. Well, compared to the other villagers at least. The villager gripped his sword and shield tighter, waiting for the Vikings to act.
"NO THERE WASN'T CAPTAIN SANGUINE!" The Vikings roared back, dismounting from their horses and snarling at their captives. Severin laughed heartily and brought his hand to his face for a moment. He ran his fingers over his hard features, then began snarling himself. The entire Viking force and their Captain had grown six massive rows of sharp teeth, claws six inches long protruding outwards from the finger bones themselves, and glowing white eyes, save Sanguine's, whose glowed gold fiercely.
"Get your energy, for we ride again soon," Severin said quietly. As his last syllable tripped off his tongue, the Vikings pounced.
