(Listens) Yes I can definitely see how that is a surfing tune. I think it's the backing bass notes that do it. I think it'd work well with pictures of random surfers going into half-pipes or whatever. Nice!

I don't think that jazz is really going to translate well into scrappy, garage rock. I am capable of playing smooth blues stuff, but jazz takes a mastery that is beyond me.

Start by learning it in a jazz style, then put it in your own style. Saxophones are really fun, you can do a lot more with them. They're a lot harder than guitar or piano, though. You have to practice a lot before you can get a good tone.

I bet it's difficult just to get a sound of it. I did enjoy the track, maybe I'll do it sometime. Also considering "one more cup of coffee" by Bob Dylan and "Umbrella" by Rihanna as possible covers. The 2nd one seems like a bad idea...but I love the melody, and I think I could do something interesting on guitar...could be a good rock song.

Oh, it's super easy to get a sound. Getting a good sound, on the other hand, is very difficult. I would recommend the Wes Montgomery or Stanley Jordan versions of that song (Impressions), they're both great guitar players.

"Umbrella" would definitely be interesting to hear. I'm not sure how that would work, but I'm sure you could do it.

This thread has inspired me to finally upload a recording I made ages ago of me playing Andy McKee's "Drifting" badly. Full of mistakes and I fucked up the camera somehow, (don't know why it's dark,) and other errors but fuck it, nobody's perfect.

Ok, I think you guys are the main guys to have contributed to this thread. I apologise if I've missed some people, I was in a bit of a rush to do this. I'm thinking that in order to clean this thread up a bit and to ensure you guys that your videos have the exposure they deserve that I'm going to put everyone who contributes into the OP and have all the links to their videos there. Basically instead of searching through the thread for what people have done it could all be accessed from the first post.

What do you guys think of that idea? I'd have to use a lot of spoiler tags, but I think it would clean this thread up heaps and make it easier to use for other members. Please give me your feedback, thanks!

Yeah that'd be sweet. Did anyone learn how to post audio. I have a few tracks from my bands album that i'd love to share. But no videos though... I could make a youtube version but I'm wondering if I can avoid that for now.

I think I heard from [user]Virgil[/user] once that [ sound ]*song URL*[ /sound ] without the spaces works, but I haven't tried it out yet and the thread the post was on has now been 404'd. I think what it does is links to a real player which can play the song, but whether that was the actual sound BB Coding or just a URL for the sound I don't know. May be worth looking into at some point, though.

This is my efforts for this thread. I have another 6 songs from this album if anyone would like to hear more, I shall endevour to make another shitty video for it...

Okay the quality isn't too bad, however, the video is a pile of crap...

We can only give it a try, except I'm not sure how to host sounds because I'm very much ingrained in the youtube idea. Someone will figure it out at some stage.
