Hey guys, I've modified the OP so everyone who has contributed has their video or audio link displayed there. If I've missed anyone or screwed up a link or spoiler or something please let me know, thanks!

I'll continue to do this for everyone who posts new things now. It takes a while (it took me an hour to do that) so please be patient if it doesn't go up right away, I will get around to it though.

Thanks heaps!
Kudos for sorting out the OP and for the thread itself. Cheers for the add so to speak too.

I really wish I could play the piano like you do. There's so much more range and depth you can get on a piano than a guitar. I feel like a leper because I have big trouble playing different rhythms on different hands. Any advice for helping that?

I'm going to make some more and better videos for my songs tomorrow, I probably owe them as much. I'll quote you when I post them, if you'd prefer to stay on top of them like that?

I'm not even that good at piano myself, I've only been playing for 7 months or so. I just got home from seeing the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, they performed Mozart's Piano Concerto for 2 pianos.... WOW! Now THEY'RE good at piano!

As for the rythym issues, I'm not actually quite sure I'm sorry. I suspect when I get my violin in a few weeks I'll find out much the same problem, because you use your hands differently on a piano to guitar/violin. I'd love to be able to help but I just don't know! Practice maybe?

I'd love to see your new stuff!

This thread has inspired me to finally upload a recording I made ages ago of me playing Andy McKee's "Drifting" badly. Full of mistakes and I fucked up the camera somehow, (don't know why it's dark,) and other errors but fuck it, nobody's perfect.
-video snip-
That was really cool! Interesting way of attacking the instrument. You definately have some skill.

Very nice, SHP. Let us know when the album comes out.
Thanks Mr Goat, you're a kind creature. I'll crack on with it as soon as my glands un-swell...

I'm not recording myself playing these as they're not particularly impressive, but I have some old recordings so I thought I'd just throw these out there.

This I wrote when I was about 14 and only had access to Audacity, Hammerhead drum machine and a crappy mic (not including actual instruments), so don't judge too harshly. Has way too many drums.

This was my music technology coursework. Yes, it's a rip-off and no, you don't get any points for guessing who I ripped off.

Everyone has trouble with the different rhythms at first. What I recommend is playing the part for just the right hand until you know it very well, then the same for the left, and then putting it together. Starting as slow as you need to in order to get all the notes correct, then speeding up. (It's quite a process.)

Inverse, I'm liking the OP. It's great.

That's what my tutor is making me do with Beethoven's 20th Piano Sonata. I had trouble with the rythym of some triplets and stuff with it so he's making me learn it with seperate hands (which it's dead easy to get it right) and then put them together. It's good advice! Thanks for the compliment as well, it's very nice of you!

I have a video of me playing some terrible version of Big Sur Moon by Buckethead. I didn't even go into the sweeps because I'm just that bad. I might upload a bad quality video of me playing She is Beautiful by Andrew W.K. if I have the time.

Well, I said I would do this so...

I go out of time in certain places and there are points for improvement, but please give your opinion on my playing.

Apologies for the poor sound quality, I was simply using the first camera I could get my hands on (my mum's).

This is just me playin a random bass solo at band practice.

So you're pretty much playing guitar with two less strings. Really, all that 'solo' had was to much distortion, bad timing and chromatics. That wasn't even tasty fret wank.

Also - Playing bass through guitar amps is an awesome way to mess them up.

That was pretty darn good. Although, I'm no expert. I liked it though. No fumbling whatsoever. It'll be easy for you to find people who would like to play with you.

Thanks for that. I've been in a few groups over the years, but none of them have ever gotten off before, even in the local music scene. A friend of mine has said to me that he needs a drummer for his band, though, so I may give that a shot.

oh im perfectly aware of all that. i was hungover the day i did that so my timing was off and yes, im aware that its the distortion that makes it sound even halfway decent. i know all of this. plus im also aware of the guitar amp thing. i dont own a bass amp so i play through two guitar amps put below 5 to keep the damage minimal.

Note: The thread has been updated and now has the links to the original post included with every video.

That wasn't my doing though, thank Neonbob for that one, he's been fantastic with helping me out with this.

It's not very good. But I might just upload some more for your viewing pleasure. I will admit that I messed up a bit, but I made this in one shot. No editing and no redos. I just turned on the camera and played.

Wow.
That was pretty good.
And you reminded me of how much I enjoyed Andrew W.K.
I e-five you, good sir!

Another spur at the last minute post. I'm actually kind of proud of how well the solo went!
