Well, here's the new queue for Gnosopolis.

http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/542903423085271994/ECB53D1592ECC7E302FF5A31462B3632449633AA/

Research agreements: Well, Inca and Rome couldn't actually afford it, so I made one with Japan with a sack of spices to sweeten the deal.

Apparently, we broke his bank.

Seeing how we are SWIMMING in cash (+28 GPT)... sure, why not. At least he didn't ask us to go to war.

Here's my compromise for Thinville's queue. No one is going to chuck rocks at my face? No? Great.

Well, we expected this. It's OK, Elizabeth dear. We have no intentions of expanding closer... we're already anticipating two more wars.

Also, we found Brussels to our West!

RATIONALISM!

Fantastic, now we have three Civs alongside us. I don't think Alexander will like this.

Also, I hocked off two spare iron for 75 gold to Japan, because they're the only ones that can afford it.

Horseback riding is next.

Until then... the catapults are ready.

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Should we attack now, guys!?

But first, Waltzburg is almost done its lighthouse.

Apologies for my lack of existence. Been swamped by school and other things. Hurrah college?

Anyone wanna catch me up on current events? I've read the latest post of our lackey lacktheknack, but do we have any serious plots in progress? What's happened with the era slingshot? Any luck with *spits* Greece?

Not sure how much you missed but:
-We founded 2 cities to the south/west one right on Elizabeth border next to London in order to get the cotton luxury. (One is named after you.)
-Declared peace with Alexander and built up a strong force on his border at Thinville.
-Era Slingshot went off without a hitch and we're in the Renaissance era, we've got rationalism so research agreements now give us retarded amounts of science due to the policy plus porcelain tower.
-Japan is at War with England
-We've signed declarations of friendship with Romans, Incans, and Japanesse and denounced the piss out of Alexander.
-We're planning on probably marching on Geneva soon/currently.
-We picked up Astronomy, Construction, and Metal Casting. Queued up is Horseback riding and I think Chivalry or Engineering next.
-Discovered another natural wonder.

Did everyone see that? It's "We love the King day!" in Thinville. HAIL TO THE KING, BABY.

Ahem.

Code Blue! Waltzburg is suffering severe production lag, get them to the Longhouse Ward ASAP! Then a Library, because we can't have the city belonging to the smartest of us go without literature.

As for the Greeks near Thinville... I don't know if now is the best time to attack or not, but it sure feels like a good time! HAVE AT THEM!

It's not clear from looking at thee photo, but in 1 turn when the lighthouse is built instead of being 47 turns till pop growth it'll be more around 10. I do agree though production is shit since it's a coastal city and it's probably on food/gold focus for some reason. An easily remedied problem.

My votes:
-Waltzburg: Shift the tile worked that's a unimproved regular coast to the limber mill. Queue up: Workboat, Longhouse, Granary, Market, Library, Uni. The goal being to work the three improved coast tiles (lighthouse) + 3 improved forests(longhouse).
-Throw a Longhouse in the queues in Knackopolis/Emusersia if they are working 2 or more forests.
-Military: Move MW on the hill onto that grassland that cuts into into Alex's territory to see if you can get vision and spy if there an enormous amount of troops. If less than 2 extra military units start marching our army towards Geneva's borders when next Mohawk in Thinville pops in 5 or less turns. Throw them up on the border scout a little to see if you can rush any archers he has. Stack the Great General with your archers or catapults in the rear and have at it.
-Eventual settlers in Knackopolis: Put them wherever seems good towards the west. Prioritise new Luxuries, Iron, Extra source of Luxuries we don't have spares of, horses, stone, bonus resources, forests/rivers.

Taking a peek as far into Greece as we can, there aren't enough soldiers to get panicked about.

Heh. My dear Alexandra, how does it feel to have the two best civs (as of right now) both thinking you're scum?

Construction done. Moving on to engineering.

COOL! Now we have a Triforce alliance! I wonder if we can get Caesar in on this...

Since Greece isn't an issue right now, it's time to get invading.

Our Mohawks clunk one set of archers out of existence. Good luck, Geneva!

The double barrage of Archers and City Defenses nearly kills our Mohawk Warrior. This looks like a good time to use the "heal instantly" promotion.

WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW GENEVA?

It was about here that our Mohawks in the rear realized that they weren't helpful, and returned to Thinville to set up defense against the Greeks.

What do we do with it?

Yet another thing I have to look up!

*looks it up*

Annex! We have Mathematics, and can therefore build a courthouse to stop them from being so grumpy.

All things considered, we cannot raze the city; Geneva is more useful to the Iroquois intact. I'd annex it along with constructing a courthouse and connecting it to the capital city, and the other eastern cities by proxy.

On another note, I'm not sure Waltzburg needs a granary when we could invest in another workboat to harvest its other fish tile.

That's why it's currently building a workboat as #1 on it's queue; the granary simply pays or itself as it provides 2F which is what it takes to feed 1 citizen who will likely work a tile that produces it's own maintenance of 1 gold. Buildings that directly pay for themselves or don't cost maintenance are nice, plus it helps catch up Waltzburg with Thinville in terms of population.

On my end, I say we need workers to build the road from Geneva to Knackopolis. Plus they'll be useful to our burgeoning empire later on particularly out west. Three 6+ size cities will produce adequate gold and +3 happiness on a trade route. As long as we remember to tile buy any forests to complete the route and build the minimal amount of roads necessary it should yield quite a profit.

My votes:
-Geneva: Annex, queue a courthouse then a worker.
-Waltzburg: Shift 2 coastal tiles worked in Waltzburg (the two that don't have bonuses) to the two lumber mills. Goal being a size 6 city with 3 improved coastal tiles and 3 improved forests.
-Thinville: Queue up a worker and shift the queue so it's number 1.
-Military: Rush them all back to Thinville.
-Diplomacy: No need to get Ceasar in on the clique (he's the strongest besides you) as he'll likely want things from you and maintaining so many DoF becomes tiresome. Sign secret pacts against Alexander with everyone who will accept them (non-trade agreements). Shoot for another round of denouncement on Alex when Thinville is defended again and lets see if we can get one of our 'allies' to start a snowball denouncements.

My Overarching long-term plan: Get Alex to DoW on us or do it ourselves and sweep him off the continent in the next 25-75 turns. Burn any non-useful settlements and keep those we desire. While filling out our borders west. Once neutralized if there is no civ east disband our Great General to usher in a golden age and scatter our army west for defense.

Yup, WALTZ has got it together on this one. I'm mostly a tech tree guy, so I don't really have much to add. I don't think there are still secret pacts in CiV, but I wouldn't swear to it, diplomacy is not my strong suit.

Well, every one agreed on Courthouse, with Waltz and Ragnorak agreeing to a worker as well.

They'll feel better soon.

Anyways, chivalry sounds like a good idea.

Settler completed. Let's send him to the three-point triangle between the stone, iron, and spices. Unless someone has a better idea.

Well, crap! This puts the squeeze on us... if we wipe out Greece quickly, then Elizabeth will either A. back off out of terror, or B. attack us in panic. She has a point... we are being war-mongering right now.

I have really bad news for you, Thin! We got beaten to the Oracle! D: The good news is that we have a great scientist to lessen the blow. Any specific techs we want, or should we grab the most expensive one for speed's sake?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I've gotten The Oracle in every single game I've ever played, regardless of civilisation, map type or leader. I cannot resist.

Without its comforting presence, I am hollow. There is a large hole in my chest, that - peculiarly enough - is the exact size and shape of the kingdom of Greece. Go, fetch me the kingdom of Greece, that I may fill this hole and feel better! Only that will appease my suffering.

In the mean time, yes. Pick the most expensive science option.

I'm rather busy all weekend as my family from over seas has flown in and they're all staying in my tiny house are immensely catholic dis functional and don't speak a bit of english and keep wanting me to show them places. o_O

So yeah pick the most expensive tech and do something nice in terms of trades with Elizebeth. Hold on to your gold as you might need it to quick-buy rush troops on elizebeths border sometime and I can't decide if another RA or bribing Genoa would be optimal.

I do remember seeing the city placement and thinking a tiny bit father west would allow you to claim another source of spices and possibly deny it from the Incan so we'd have a monopoly and we can always expand our borders eastern with culture/tile buys buy as things naturally fill out.

I'm inclined to say use the GS to make a +6 science improvement as long term the science yield will be over the tech cost in 100+ turns, but getting through it faster is more fun then the long term investment.

In any case my votes:
-Diplo: unless they changed it for some crazy reason after December you should be able to sign pact of secrecy against with civs. Do so against Alexander with as many civs as possible. Trade nicely with the English and Denounce Alex in a few turns.
-Tech pick up Navigation getting to education gives us public schools for more science and +1 to production of lumber mills.
-Bonus: queue up a few troops in knackopolis and send them south when possible then to science buildings.

So yeah, don't mean to run off when this game has such few members, but I'll be back.
Toodles~

Go with the most expensive as long as your trade is making enough money to pay for it without you being broke afterward. And once dearest Elizabeth has calmed down, swipe out Greece in a sneaky assualt. Well, as sneaky as you can be in Civ

If we're planning on building an army to take Greece, we would do well to consider building a barracks in at least one city. While we're on the subject I'd recommend spending the scientist on Machinery for the option to build an armory to supplement the barracks.

Outside war policies, I don't see a lot that needs doing, wait till the necessary buildings are set up and for the army to form. Another possible location may be on the coast where there are two sources of whales, cattle, and what looks like stone. Downside is we may upset the Inca for settling there, and it's next to a barbarian encampment; but one Mohawk warrior would make short work of that threat.

I cannot comment on anything else however.

Sorry for the epic delay, but the Escapist derp'd and I had to sleep.

Also, duly noted for the next update, Doc (I started the next round of turns before you posted).

Our Great Scientist researched Navigation!

http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/542903423169753163/3AF99EBBC207DBF4C609D82981621C9E0390B358/

I tried to do some trading with Elizabeth, but her negotiation was... unreasonable (read: she wants ALL of our luxuries). So I bartered Sugar for Spice with the Incas instead.

http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/542903423169751588/2C261C539E0697B2E720CAF02270D2FE1D917CF1/

Pachacuti also has something to say about our diplomacy:

http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/542903423169749981/FF27815AFCD143B4CBC30D4F744B0D1833ECE8AA/

Our settlers have arrived at their initial stop, but due to various factors, I think we'll move them a bit farther west.

Specifically, two tiles.

Perfect!

What to build here? Also, what to build in Eumersiania? It's almost done its queue.
