Said it once I'll say it again.

There should be a test to see if your worthy to be a parent.

I think her brothers should be able to see her. They are siblings after all.
Yeah they don't seem to be at fault, one even testified against the mother. Albeit without realising

My, aren't you just the sweetest troll I've ever met.
Seriously, do any of you even know what a fucking troll is?
Yes, I'm quoting one's post right now.

Thats a messed up story. Why were the boys left with her and why wasn't she jailed?

Apparently that child's birth mother
Incorrect.

And if that was supposed to be funny, it wasn't.
I hate to point out the obvious, but if you comment as you did to what is quite a heart wrenching post, then what did you expect.

I would agree with you if your point was put lesss bluntly - e.g. "It is a shame but this happens to millions of people every day, we need to just move on"

I do see your point, but hell, the way you phrased it is a little heartless

So? Being heartless doesn't have anything to do with being a troll.

People throw around the term troll like it's an insult.

...Just when I thought my general opinion of the human race couldn't possibly get any lower.

Wow...that is terribly sad. Poor girl. I'm glad they found her.
Indeed. It's a sad state of affairs anymore. Even just around here one of my neighbour's has a bulimic 8 year old daughter and a friend of mine had unmentionable things done to her when she was around that age as well.

I'll just point out what some people are missing and probably skipped over: the conditions in this case were pretty much unprecedented; something like this hasn't happened in about 40 years.
Also unless you're from /b/, "troll" is an insult.
All this being said I'm not surprised but I do feel bad.

You must not read the news much then.

Don't argue, you know it's true. She starts the tale at University and ends it chain smoking in a trailer. Why would she throw away a perfectly good future?

Me and my friends found a 13 year old girl living with his dealer in Corpus Christi, Tx. After it became apparent that they where having sex as a condition of her staying there and receiving drugs I physically restrained (code we gave to the police for beating the shit out of) the dealer. We then forced the girl to come with us and took her to the police. I actually told them everything, where we found her and what we where doing. Police in Texas are pretty easy going as far as youth drug and alcohol use go, at least they are in Corpus Christi.

I always assumed I was doing the right thing. I still think I am, I would hope that if the girl was running away from a situation similar to what was in the original post of this thread that the police would have done something rather then just take her home, at least they would have listened to why she ran away, and maybe checked out the place a bit when they brought her home.

There was also the case of the 16 year old girl that social workers found chained in a closet in Corpus. Man that city is awesome. Couple moved in, and the nice neighbors visited, welcomed them to the neighborhood. After several visits, and mentions of a daughter they never saw some became suspicious and called the police. They sent a social worker over who claimed nothing was amiss. It was only on a follow up visit that they opened the closet and found the girl. Who had apparently been locked in a closets for over 11 years by her parents. Only being taken out when they moved.

Someone who makes a post like that is doing one of two things. Either he's trolling, or he's pretending to be a stoic tough guy on the internet because he's unsatisfied with his real life personality, and sees the world wide web as a way of acting out his fantasy of being 'cool'.

I gave you the benefit of the doubt, and thought you were just trying to get a rise out of us. Of course, if it was number 2, then I humbly apologize for accusing you of being a troll.

Again, you obviously have no fucking idea what a troll is.

I was not trolling anyone in anyway. I don't see how I was trying to act cool either. Or act like an internet tough guy.

Your just making yourself look like an idiot with these mendacious accusations.

How would that make her a troll?
Because Trolls are stupid. Evidently this woman had intelligence, but just preferred not to use it, unlike the unfortunate case of her son who had learning difficulties or the poor girl who had developed learning difficulties.

What this woman did has nothing to do with being a troll.

You don't know what a troll is. Not every troll is a moron.
