Yeeeah, this. It especially irks me when the youngins get at me about it (I've had an 8-year old beak off at me that he was hardcore and I didn't count as a gamer), but that's when I proudly pull the "gaming since before you were even thought of" card. The type of gamer that annoys me the most are the people who insist on playing their very annoying music during gameplay. Or those who hold their mic way too close to their face.

Personally I think it's a tie between the 'OMG LOL hackkkz XD meow XD' type people... or those people who think they're 1337 gamers because they listen to DotA by Basshunter all day...

I hate the ones with those really high pitched voices that talk shit about something, and then uses exactly THAT thing.
Especially in some [SUB](Insert Modern Warfare 1&2 here)[/SUB] games.
