People who are really good at the game, but refuse to get into guild vs. guild games because then they just become the common rabble again.

i.e. those people with like...50 kills, 3 deaths, who are just that good.

Teabagger on my team who spend more time insulting the enemy and less time worrying 'bout that sniper whos lining a headshot on them. Also those 12 year olds who insist that if everyone 'follows their lead' they will win, usually results in said 12 year old being crushed several consecutive times by some giant akrid, or some other large monster.

For me I really hate the 'elitists' or 'haters' or to be even more precise the 'PC gamer elitists'.

Thing is, I don't have anything against people playing on the PC over the console, I mean hell your right to play whatever system you want right? But as a console gamer, I have NEVER seen the same curtosy given to me by a supposed 'PC elitist'. I get told off for liking to play Halo on my Xbox 360 with lines like:
"Blah mainstream casual gamer crappy generic crapadoodle!"
And of course because I play on a console and I like Halo, naturally to them this means I must also be a hard drinking immature frat boy. Funny note though, I find plenty of these people who make fun of the way people on Xbox live act, then behave in a very similar fashion but are apparently justified because they play on PC.
Seriously, it's just the arrogant way that they tend to portray themselves as 'the master race' of gamers and that therefore they are totally justified to do the most lowly of actions which is to pick on people anonymously on the internet.

Bottom line, I often just want to grab them by the throat and yell very clearly:
"PLAYING ON A PC OVER A CONSOLE DOES NOT MAKE YOU INTELLIGENT, OR BRILLIANT OR A GOD AND IT CERTAINLY DOES NOT GIVE ONE THE RIGHT TO BULLY EVERYONE WHO DOESN'T PLAY ON THE PC!"
Furthermore I would add:
"ALSO GET OVER YOURSELF, IT DOES NOT TAKE A BRILLIANT GOD CHILD TO WORK OUT PC CONTROLS OVER CONSOLE, THERE MIGHT BE MORE ADDITIONAL BUTTONS BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE.... BUTTONS!! YOU PUSH BUTTONS, ANYONE COULD DO THAT!!"

However, I am usually able to keep this under control and I apologise if this post may have been deemed offensive to anyone, after all I am fully aware that not every person who plays on PC is like that, in fact most are just gamers like anyone else, but just those few out there who keep the arrogant attitude up... they annoy me.

In short order (from most annoying to somewhat endurable if I grit my teeth):

- Hackers
- Griefers
- One-trick Ponies [Only if they won't shut up though]
- Mic Spammers/Chat Spammers
- People who always use non-technical acronyms/abbreviations. "LFG"? Fine, term developed over the course of the genre. "SMG"? Fine, actual short hand for the item. "OMG", "LOL", and so on? God help me if I manage to track you down "IRL".

As Yahtzee said, avoid playing multiplayer games where the other people are not within slapping distance. Some people just shouldn't be associated with when you can't deliver a sound pwning to them if they get annoying.

Well, mankind in general works too.

Also, one more, stuck-up chicks who think being an ~*omg gamerrr (this ties in with the DotA-listening morons) will make them automatically the 'hot ones' to all the desperate nerdy guys. Or something. As a female gamer this drives me up a wall and down the other side. Go away.
Im not a female gamer, but good god I couldnt agree with you more. Was once playing MW2 online and another player (female) started heavily flirting with other players, to which some of the players responded desperatly as if they're prayers had been answered.

Also, I second the 'those who play music through their mic' sentiment. Only ever acceptable if you're at a gaming lounge and can't turn the music off.

People who take gaming waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too seriously.
I have a friend who's like that, he's a pretty great guy over all but when it comes to gaming... well, different story. If I play co-op with him and mess up (because I've never played the game before) he can RRAAAAGGEE! and even more so when he's playing online. I think he sees himself as a sort of "übergamer" so if he gets killed in like MW2 he instantly calls: "bulls***! The guy had a riot shield, f**king bull***t! I didn't have a f***king chance!" *more profanity* And then, ten seconds later "haha! I just pwned a guy with my riot-sheild! L2P n000b!" That can get REALLY annyoing, so gamers like that an the ones refering to people who use items as "scrubs". F***king elitists...

PC gaming master race.
I love the PC, but god damn it isn't some glorious super being to lord over the consoles.
PC is filled with flaws, but I guess overcoming that learning curve is what makes them feel so much better than everyone.

I.E. yesterday is was playing some "S4 League" and i was in 1st place, killing everyone with my "Semi-Rifle", then suddenly someone starts shouting and cursing at me that i am a "Semi-Spammer" and that i must use another weapon or quit... wtf?

and i also hate Cheaters, people who think they are pro because they know how to exploit a glitch (*cough* everyone who plays GunZ *cough*), and Fanboys.

Hardcore Gamers. All those self absorbed people who go on about 'types' of gamers and can't just let people enjoy their entertainment. Yup. I hates them.

I can't stand the Stop Having Fun Guys types who look down their noses at anyone who'd rather tinker with a game and find something that works for them rather than go to GameFAQs or some wiki and look up how to get THE MOST DPS in every possible situation. Then again, the game designers encourage that sort of shit, so it's partially on them---I prefer to play games where the player is given more freedom and the balance is better.
how exactly do you think that game designers enforce this?
When game developers create things that, by virtue of their design, give a demonstrable advantage to the player who uses them, then they are effectively encouraging people to use it at the expense of everything else in the game.

Mind you, it's easier to get that sort of design wrong than it is to get it right. But if, say, you've got a +2 Gun of Super Shooty Death, then perhaps you should design it that, say, the ammo is really expensive or hard to come by to compensate, but using the less powerful gun grants you the benefit of being able to find ammo for it as easily as finding trailer trash at Wal-Mart.
