OK, fine I'll take this on at another level.WTEricson post=9.72600.766406 said:Anything that pulls in the mainsteam and adults is great for the gaming business and the gaming culture. Basicly I think Home is revolutionary... when I hear it's boring in Beta tests its the equivalant to a Forum being boring when theres noone in it... or the phone being boring when noones on the other line (elevator music), it's the culmination of all the things we love about the internet but easy... zhit, if I could buy a safe/free-to use teleporter instead of a Car for cheaper... I'de be pretty ignorant not to.
Sony has admittedly always had my love.... when I opened my mind to the idea behind Home they received my admiration and respect.
You say that this is going to make the masses buy the console... how exactly? I can't imagine anyone going "wow, you can make a little person and walk around and talk to people, I must rush out and spend £350 on it."
You say it's revolutionary, what about Second Life? what about Habbo Hotel? Both of these are free and based on the same concept. And Second Life allows you to do a hell of a lot more than Home will do.
You say that a PS3 is a cheaper alternative to anything else. A new PS3 costs £350, a new 360 costs £130, a new Wii costs £180. That's just on a gaming sort of level though. You can get a solid PC for about £300, and that's with dual core and all the trimmings. Plus, you have the ability to run millions of applications the PS3 can't, as well as play more games than a PS3.
Finally, you say Sony has always had your love. That means that I could put out the most well thought out argument and it wouldn't change your opinion. So I've just wasted 5 minutes of my life but there you go.
I'll say this again. I'm NOT anti-Sony in any way. I just think it's idiotic to say that a PS3 is more useful than a PC.
