I'm sorry Tsunami, but the PS3 has not lost. Nor has it won. THe console wars are far from over, as anything can happen. I could care less if the PS3 "lost" the console wars just so long as I get the games I enjoy and expect from Sony. I would answer your 1-4 points but I'm sure both you and I don't want to get deeper into this stuff.

Pitty, what started as a Home discussion turns to a PS3 bashing fest. Should have figured, but that's what happens.

And do I have to remind you guys again, Home is free. You only pay for optional things like, say, a bigger house and new cloths. Hey, if it worked for Second Life it can work for Home.
Again, I wasn't bashing the PS3. I think all of the current generation of games consoles have their own merits, I've played on all of them and enjoyed them all. I just took exception to when he said owning a PS3 is better than owning a PC. And I don't understand why he said people will buy it for the application.

I don't think there's even a console war anymore. I mean you've got the Wii for your more casual gamers, your 360 for people who maybe aren't that into having the latest technology and just want a straight up console, then you've got the turbo-charged PS3 with all the latest features.

I undertstand how ya feel Phoenix, I honestly don't think the PS3 is "better", just think it runs all the apps I want to. Like I said I'm a firefighter (just to help people, I made 3 times the pay offshore), and for me I don't need/want to build games... I'de love to pitch game ideas... just not build them. And your 100% right... there really isn't a console war. If there was that would meen Wii is the best system... thats a truely scary thought :p

It's alright, I wasn't directing to you anyway. It's just silly to say that any of the consoles are losing/going to lose because anything can happen. I don't care what happens, just as long as I get my games.

Exactly, 360 just has been making games that aren't my taste... originally I didn't even buy the PS3 for games... was a Blu-ray for my TV... but the "exclusives" (which is BS) that are coming seem more drawn to my age group... doesn't meen 360 games aren't great, anything that brings happiness to you that outweights the negative aspents is always worth it... just not really my taste.

Thats why I used Joe analogy... I am pretty much Joe :)

And so, a quick summary of the thread:
"Home is brilliant. It's so much better then browsing on a PC and it'll sell loads of PS3s."
"It's not better than PC internet. There's no way people will pay that much just for Home."
"Home's free."
"Home is brilliant."
"I don't like PS3s."
"I'm just trying to open your minds people. Open them to my way of thinking. Home rules!"
"It might be good, but people won't buy a PS3 for it."
"Home's free."
"Here's why I don't like PS3s."
"This isn't about the PS3. It's about Home, which is awesome."
"It's not that great."
"Home's free."
And my input:
Home seems distinctly average to me. It seems as though Sony's just trying to attract casual gamers, which will never work with that price tag.
Also, nobody ever said Home wasn't free. Every reference to prices was talking about the cost of a PS3 to run Home on.
Anyways, have fun guessing which quotes you are.

Freaking hilarious.... plus very good point. It won't be free... I don't really care about sale for the most part, exept it can be argued the more money games make the more we see in that direction, example being the over-saturated shooter... which I love... but theres 100 I hate for every one I love, that time and money would be better suited to make other types of games IMO... like the artistic/intelligent kind. But I blame Adrian for that.

Still I am wondering what people would like to see them do with Home, unfortunately I haven't "used" it yet... (played wouldnt be right characterization IMO, that be like playing a forum) but admittedly I can be partial since I plan on trying to exploit is somehow.... but thats just my negative human nature.

Anything you would like to see added?

You are a crazy fanboy, phones can do what the PS3 does. The computer is king for a reason.

Anyway which is more likely:
1- Sony changing everbodys mind and making the PS3 the main way to use the internet.
Or
2- Sony makes a PC and creats a new market for itself.

Your PS3 is better than the PC, the PS3 can't be.

That home must be overly expensive.

Mine is PlayAsia.

And Whirlpool of course, and here occasionally.

And lets not forget WoW

I never said "better" once in this entire disussion. Please stop misrepresenting my statements. All I said is it has the same functionality. Basicly a PC is the same exept people for some reason feal the need to glorify it with new hardware constantly. The same will be done with cars for years.

A fully souped up Ferrari will get you from point A to B. The limitation being speed limits.
A Toyota Camry will get you to point A to B, the limitation being the speed limits.

A PC will get you from point A to B, limitations being cable-internet speed limit.
A PS3 will get you from point A to B, limitations being cable-internet speed limit.
Now this is key, the human brain cannot process the amount of info either gives you, but of course it tries. This results in a boost of adrenalin to try and see 60FPS instead of the standard 30. It also results in your brain getting aggitated (which is why people fight so much in forums and why confrontation games flood the market). Adrennalin is an addictive substance BTW, your brain gets conditioned to make you think it will die without it... thus arguing over facts is your brain justifying the NEED for more adrenalin... and more PC upgrades.

Unlike vehicles we cannot supe up our brains speed (only evolution can do that), so anything past a certain intake just makes you aggressive... so basicly your destroying your own mind and being a dick to those around you.

Like I said before anything over a certain amount of info is a waste and ultimately futile... with PS3 I can already basicly read 5 books at a time, with PC 20... exept for the fact I can't read 5 books... so I end up producing adrenaline which speeds up my body producing sweet and still can only read 1 book... I'm sure everyones noticed the perspiration from surfing and brain overload, or how pissed off you can get over nothing IE some random guy talking about an online application.

Okay, I knew you were trolling from the very beginning, but now you're just being too obvious.

Tsk tsk.
What's trolling exactly? I'm having a discussion and alt tabn the input button on TV to watch House.... is that what the definition of trolling is? If so I guess I'm guilty... right, but still guilty.

Seriously though, my brain likes the adrenalin too... but have I resorted to insulting anyone in this forum?

Ok I looked it up on the google psbrowser... Says basicly "slang" to change the subject in hopes of initiating an emotional responce.

I never changed the subject, I answered questions that stemmed from the original subject... even tried multiple times to get back to the subject.

Honestly if anything everyone who has came here and insulted is trolling... I have not done this, won't even insult you now with the obvious dig.

Well, they did keep on saying that you had to pay for Home or compared it to free applications on the PC. Just sayin' is all...

I appologize if I offended you. I didn't meen to imply that there's anything wrong with loving an inantimate object like a car or computer... or my left hand. I was mearly responding to the notion that it's THE BEST... I am nostalgic too, like for Zero Punctuation reviews... My point is saying something is BETTER just because youl like it is a false statement. Some guys like guys.... not really my taste but whatever.
