Lose to the PS2? The PS2's sold more units than any console on the planet - and for good reason. Underselling to that thing is hardly an overwhelming defeat.

Console wars are ridiculous, there's always one random winner per generation. Remember how unpopular the Gamecube was by comparison to the Xbox and PS2? The Wii now outsells both the 360 and PS3 in pretty much every country across the world. The PS3 is now the underdog. Who the fuck knows what'll happen next gen.

And these days, there's approximately dick between the PS3 and 360 in terms of console specific titles. It comes down to which controller you feel happiest holding.

I love my PS3, and I'll stand by it.

I was a Nintendo person until the Wii shovel ware mishap and the whole "Wii-fit" thing.




I mean seriously, a gym membership is very expensive.

These days i find myself liking the 360.

Sony at least for me, In my younger days always had to rely on "Gimmick" games.
Whether it be the "GTA" or The "Playboy mansion sim" or the ultra violent games like "Manhunt" and others.
They are fun for a time but no real lasting power.
They've added so many different things to the system it seems more like a 1980's equalizer then a video game system.
That's really a shame. If it's been my one complain about consoles for awhile now is they all try to do too much.
I don't need my Video game system to "Try" to turn into a CD player, I have one of those.
Even if i did'nt i'd rather listen to tape then trying to blast my music through my telvison set.
I don't need it to become an amazingly crappy DVD player because i have a good DVD player,Why would i want a downgrade?
Why on earth can't we design a video game system just to play video games on?
Before anyone says it i have two things to say about it

1) "Added vaule"
No,it's not. You have your extraordinary crappy DVD player all set up and now you need to buy the stupid remote because the feature is half baked and the "Default" Controller controls are Crap at best or perhaps, You have a built in CD player.
Great idea on paper but really ,really poorly done.
Who doesn't have a stereo by this point?
Who is forced to play their music through the television set at volume for no other propose then to listen to it?
if you have top of the line Dolby surround sound system your doing this,Go buy a stereo or a boom box.
If you don't buy a boom box.
2)"Marketing" or "Cool Factor"
If you buy it because it was marketed to have this feature and you never thought about how it might implemented, Then you need to start doing research on what you buy, if it was the "Cool" thing to have that's fine and all, But why pay for "Image"?

Meh, the PS3 is outselling the 360 in Japan by a decent margin. It's no surprise its being outsold by the ps2 considering they're still making ps2 games and you can find a ps2 for between 50-100$.

My PS3 is also fully backwards compatible. The reason the new ones aren't has already been stated, people complained about the price, so they dropped the backwards compatibility to cut costs. The emotion engine is not a cheap peice of hardware. Was it a smart move? Yes and no, yes because they are still making money off their PS2 (that was part of the strategy of cutting the emotion engine in the PS3 to begin with). This way they're making money off of consoles instead of one, and when people feel the PS3 has finally come of age (my prediction is later this year) they will start seeing a boost in their PS3 sales as well.

The PS3 is a great console, I don't know why the internet is so full of haters.

It happened last year. You can still find some refurbished backwards compatible PS3's floating around out there (I bought my 60gig backwards compatible refurb last year) but they're not being produced anymore.

I don't understand why Sony would decide not to include backwards compatibility for games of THEIR BEST SYSTEM EVER (PS2) into the PS3. You can only play PS2 games on certain PS3's that i'm pretty sure aren't made anymore. Yet PS1 games work fine. Even with the good PS3 games that are out now, I still believe PS3 deserves not to be winning the console war.

Then the PS3 would be even more expensive for Sony to make, along with the need for far more compatibility updates.

What you 360 fanboys fail to realize is that the game couldn't have been developed for the 360 due to hardware limitations. From the mouth of the developers, without the processing power of the cell broadband processor they wouldn't be able to create the game they are creating. Believe it or not there IS a hardware difference. The 360 has already seen the peak of its potential, the PS3 has not.

My advice is for you to hold your breath until it happens.

Killzone 2 (Hell, I remember that the original Killzone on my PS2 was basicly a Sci-Fi mish-mash of the Iraq War and WW2. I remember this city that eerily reminded me of Baghdad and another mission set with pillboxes and trenches with barbed wire that reminded me of D-Day. There wasn't a story I could remember, and the game felt clunky and mishandled. )

Yes, we should all judge a game based on its previous game. I mean, god forbid a sequel actually make improvements.

Besides InFamous the playstation 3 doesn't have a strong catalog.

Yeah! Who cares about Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, LBP, Valkyria Chronicles, Resistance, etc. Those aren't really games. I tie my PS3 "things" together and use them as paper weights.

As I said, I had a PS2 last time around, this console generation I waited, I did my research on what games were coming out for what console. A big monetary investment like this isn't something i'm going to do based solely on brand loyalty. Playstation 3 didn't really impress me at all. It came down to Wii and 360 and 360 held the stronger catalog of games.

Yah! Because you know, 360 actually has games that have good stories like...XBOX LIVE BABY!

on topic: personaly i think that PC is far better than PS3 or any console for that matter. for three reasons:

• Better hardware
  Better Interface(both physical and digital)
  Better Games

Yes but if you have a PC and a PS3 you get the best of both worlds. PC can play everything that my 360 library can apart from Gears2..
