But yeah, I have a 360 and Wii, and still think, despite the next generation consoles, its still good to occasionally play on the PS2

Microsoft shouldn't be too happy either, the figures aren't there but the 360's April sales were only three thousand or so more than the PS2.

That's completely pathetic for both parties, when your console is barely competing with a 10year old system you really need to rethink the strategy. Neither Microsoft nor Sony can be particularly pleased with sales figures like that.

You neglected to mention that wii has shifted 340k units in the same month. Thats a victory on the scale of Norway in the eurovision song contest....

Ouch, that's harsh. The ps2 is a good system, though. Can't really argue that fact. And it's more than affordable now.

I don't have one, but if you want to play DS games (and only DS games), there's no reason not to appreciate the DSi.. If you have a GBA or an old DS, and you don't trade it in for credit towards a DSi, then you don't lose anything by using a DSi for your DS games and a GBA/DS for your GBA games.

Man the PS3 really is a big phat phailure... Too expensive (for someone who has no bloody income, so stop trying to say that 400 euros is reasonable), not many games (although there are some decent games that were recently released) and no backwards compatibility... Well, about that last thing, I finally found a way to fix backwards compatibility! It's really easy actually:
1.Go to any shop that sells games and consoles
2.Buy a Play station 2
3.Buy some duct tape
4.Use it to stick the ps2 on the ps3
(if you already have ps2 and tape you can skip the steps 2 and 3)

Why? Wasn't one God Of War enough? I liked the First but the second one was the same exact game. We didn't need two, much less three.

God of War 3 (Recycled Game)

Metal Gear Solid 4 (Boring game, bad story. For the record I didn't play the first two Metal Gear Solids, but I played the third one and the story was.. decent, but the game was terrible.)

Final Fantasy (Overall atrocious)

Killzone 2 (Hell, I remember that the original Killzone on my PS2 was basicly a Sci-Fi mish-mash of the Iraq War and WW2. I remember this city that eerily reminded me of Baghdad and another mission set with pillboxes and trenches with barbed wire that reminded me of D-Day. There wasn't a story I could remember, and the game felt clunky and mishandled. )

Besides InFamous the playstation 3 doesn't have a strong catalog.

That's a problem with alot of people listing PS3 exclusives, they list games that they personally don't care about as if they are inferior instead of using a consensus of everyone's opinion on how good the actual game is. It does not matter what you personally think of the game, the fact is that the PS3 has exclusives but everyone is just too blinded by 2006 stereotypes to notice.

InFamous, Killzone 2, and MGS4 have all had positive reviews overall, and they are PS3 exclusives (two of which have no possibility of going to any other console, I'll let you find out which and why) not to mention LBP, Warhawk, Uncharted, ect... have also gotten generally positive reviews. The PS3 has some god damn exclusives, but you guys always mix your own personal opinion on the games with the overall amount of it which is has plenty.

And do not get me started on the HYPOCRISY of some 360 owners where they yell out "The PS3 has no [good] games!" and they they ***** and moan and whine for "OMG MGS4 ON 360!$!$"

Ever since FFXIII went multiplat, absolutely everyone expects every god damn PS3 exclusive to go over to 360 or whatever even when the game is freakin' owned by Sony like InFAmous, Fat Princess, MAG, Ratchet and Clank, Team ICO, Uncharted, and God of War are!

Here's a solution to your whining, buy a fucking PS3. No. Stop. I do NOT want to hear about how "it's too expensive!" or whatever crap. That is the only option you have until MGS4 or InFamous do come to 360 however doubtful it is. Stop complaining and save up your money.

Sorry if I seem overly pissed off, but I see this time and time again and it just frustrates me. I hardly ever see any PS3 owners whine or beg for Bioshock and even when it came over we said "yay" and moved on.

Hey, who's getting pissy? Nintendo have pulled off the greatest interactive media coup in history, by throwing away the "more power" "better graphics" dynamic of every previous generation of console war and doing something completely different. Hats off to them. They had their traditional territory stolen by Sony in the last gen and did something new - and it worked.

It is ironic that the quicker, faster, most powerful console is at the bottom of the next gen pile, isn't it? Proof that it's games not specs that sell consoles....

Nah, i knew since my first encounter with him. i think it was in the news room, but i am not sure of the incentive. oh well. lets just see how many decades it takes before he realises that the ability to upgrade is a good thing. or the ability to do photoshop on the same machine (my point about the interface and what not) is freaking awesome. or the fact that a large amount of games on the one maching gives everyone a choice of what game they think is best (my point about the large gamebase of pc that he clearly did not want to accept)

A larghe amount of games doesn't mean they're good, just that there is a lot of them, with hundreds upon hundreds of simply awful ones.

The ability to upgrade might be a good thing, except for the fact that it is a prolonged cost that means the console ends up costing some $2500 in the space of time my $400 Ps3 will last me. And you're still not adressing the fact that the results say the ps3 is clearly as good, and the developers say its better.

Don't look too much into this. It's a spike consoles have them every time a new title, piece of hardware or killer app comes out. The PS2 spiked due to a price cut and beat the next gen console with the lowest sales. Nintendo wasn't worried when halo 3 came out and MS took the top of the sales chart.

I'll freely admit that I still buy games for the PS2 more frequently than I buy games for the PS3. The PS3 exclusive titles haven't really interested me and I purchase the 360 version of anything multiplatform.

Edit: Actually, I think I've played as many PS1 games on my PS3 as I have played PS3 games.
