Your shouting loudly at the tide telling it to turn back. The console which has been released longer will have it's decrease. So for example take these as sales the ps3 starting later:
360: 10 9 8 7 6....
PS3:........ 9 8 7....

You need a market analyst to go through the data to see which is slowing faster. Preferably taking independant sales data, because eventually the two consoles will slow to a trickle. Who will be the first.

If no one cares about relative sales, then the PS2 has outsold all this generations consoles but together.

You just don't want to admit that the 360 is a waste of time and money, and that it has no advantages over the PS3 which is faster, more powerful, better graphics, better exclusives etc.

When the 360 stops selling (which looks like will happen soon with the lack of games coming out for it) the PS3 will outsell it because it's technically better in every way. Not my problem if you can't afford one, but don't go trolling and looking at the basic figures without actually analysing them. That's just sheer ignorance and immaturity.

There's a reason that 360 sells more, because it has a better line-up of games, and the online is far superior, yes I know psn is free, but its far inferior to xbox live. The ps3 MAY be more powerful, but it has yet to show it, seeing as all the games look identical, it seems as though your pixel-counting is in vain. In regards to the ps2, yes it has outsold all this generation, with good reason too, it had a an amazing line-up of games, and it was affordable. That's another thing, the 360 is much cheaper, so you pay less, get more exclusives, get better online, and get the same graphical and technical power. Yes I am aware that the ps3 is potentially more powerful, but sony has yet to prove it in any meaningful way, if that day comes, then I will willingly admit that the ps3 is more powerful; until that time, I'll stick with 360.

erm...I hate to get involved in this little fanboy vs fanboy thing, but if you go and have a look at the games release schedules for both 360 and PS3...erm.....they're pretty much exactly the same.

Isn't the reality that if you have one or other of these 2 consoles there is very little reason at present to compel you to buy the other one? For me the reason I have a 360 is because I was able to buy it in 2006 and play Oblivion rather than wait for a year for a PS3 and 360 has Halo. That's it. As a personal preference I prefer the 360 controller, to the sixaxis or dual shock, actually, but that wouldn't stop me buying a PS3 tomorrow if that game I HAD to play came out for it. Where is Gran Turismo Sony? What are Team ICO doing? Come on, make me buy one, I want a bluray player!

I don't know if you're doing this deliberately or not but this clearly isn't what we're talking about. To make it as clear as possible: at exactly the same time after the day of release, PS3 has consistently sold more units than 360. So, after twelve months on sale, PS3 had sold more units than 360 when it had been on sale for 12 months. It is selling faster. That's a fact. Its sales might well be slower than Sony anticipated, but it is still selling at a faster rate than the 360.

Ahh okay, on the same page now. I do however find that strange considering the release sales from the ps3.
