I actually don't like Pikachu all that much because of the air time that he gets on the anime, I also don't like Ash either. I wan't them to just start all over again with new characters instead of us getting stuck with Ash every single time.

Aye Neuromancer, they need to adapt the manga instead. It's much more interesting the anime ever will be and Ash is one of the worst characters in my opinion. It never feels like Ash's characters ever goes through any development at all and after almost 15 years of it, it's getting quite sickening.

I used to watch it for Brock, mostly. There was something about that miserable failure of a romantic that always made the anime bearable enough to watch. From I hear he's gone now too. So it's the brat and the rat: The anime.

I remember back in the Gen 4 anime, that Ash had gotten so good with his Pokémons that it was almosts guaranteed that he would have won the Pokémon League. But nope, they put in a trainer that had Legendaries, FUCKING LEGENDARIES! that owned the entire thing.

What? Really? That's such a cop-out. It's even worse than creating a suspiciously similar character that is slightly more skilled than Ash so that Ash can lose (I'm looking at you, Ritchie.)

Yeah, Ash was doing incredibly well with his Pokémons in that gen, he had two starters that were fully evolved, he used some of his older, more powerful pokemons when he could. But no, there was a guy in the tournament that was using a Darkrai that had soloed every gym, every trainer in the Pokémon League. But the Darkrai lost against Ash's last Pokémon(it took 5 pokemons to take down that thing) everyone was all like "yay, he beat the unbeatable Darkrai!" but then.....the guy send out Latias, another legendary.

I got sick of Ash sometime during the Lapras travels. I was sick of him befriending Pokemon rather than catching them, I missed Brock and I had my Game Boy by then with Gen I & II games. So why wait for some dunce to catch 'em all when you could do it yourself?

I never understood the whole "Catch them all" aspect that the Western translator went for, the whole idea of Pokémons is that they are sort of like animals that you feed, help grow and take care of. It seems pretty hectic with 6 and over, even impossible with 150 of them.

See the whole "feed, help grow and take care of" wasn't really part of the game/s at least as far as I played them. The emphasis was always on collecting. The show's tag-line, the PokeRap, every Game Boy game, the Pokemon Snap thing, even the card games were all based around the notion that you should CATCH 'EM ALL. So to see our protagonist not even try to do so was a bit frustrating. Me, I don't need an emotional bond with every single one of my Pokemon. Most of them just rot in Bill's PC.

BTW on what animal/s is the Nidoran family supposed to be based on anyway?

I think the first stage is based off rabbits, hamsters and little rodents thing and that they just went "you know what, make it bigger and crazier in the evolutions"

It's funny how in the Unova anime, everyone wonders why Ash uses such outright dumb strategies in his battles, yet his Pokemon will still win just out of pure determination.

Oops I took too long to post, ignore the first pic if you saw it!

I've always preferred Vulpix to Growlithe, it's just so cute.

See, this is what I'm talking about. This one Jigglypuff follows Ash for a whole season and not once does he think of capturing him. Oh I think he tries that the first time, but Jiggly cries and so he figures he'll let it go.

Kinda funny that you mentioned that, I remember in Gen 5 anime, that there was a Sandile that had sunglasses that followed the party, then it evolved into a Krokorok and Ash captured it. Eventually evolved into a Krookodile and I think it became one of the strongest party member that he has.
