My current avatar and long-time fallback for the position when I couldn't think of anyone, Youmu Konpaku is one of the few characters I feel I know well enough to write in the voice of, even including my own characters. (Oh yeah, and I may not be on when everyone else is due to Australia, so I probably won't answer conversations immediately.)
Race/Species: Human/phantom hybrid (the phantom is that white ball floating around her. It's complicated)
Sex: Female
Age: Unknown, but appears to be in her late teens
Profession: Bodyguard/manservant of a noble ghost, Yuyuko Saigyouji
Items/Equipment: Two swords, Roukan-ken and Hakurou-ken, a katana and a wakizashi (short sword) respectively. Hakurou is a family heirloom, capable of cutting through confusion (usually just results in discomfort when used on living targets). Roukan is a blade that only Youmu has ever used. There's a property about it that means it can't be used by normal humans, and also that it's capable of cutting through almost anything (according to Youmu, anyway.)
Skills: Youmu's greatest asset is her agility; she's able to move too quickly to see, but only in short bursts. Combined with her sword skills, though, it makes her a difficult opponent. She also knows a non-lethal magical art called 'danmaku', common in Gensokyo, and is capable of extreme concentration to aid her magic and agility. It's unknown whether she has any conscious control over her phantom half, but that and her swords are usually used as a focus for magic.
Personality: Straightforward and stubborn, Youmu is generally easy to predict, and often easy to manipulate as well. She's quick to anger, but also quick to calm down (most of the time.) She also follows the bushido code.
Bio: Not a whole lot is known about Youmu's past. She was taught by her grandfather Youki, but he left before her training was complete. Some time after that, she started working for Yuyuko, and built up an unshakeable loyalty to her mistress. She doesn't talk much about her past, but Roukan isn't known as a Konpaku family heirloom...
