title says it all. what is the most sad moment you´ve ever experienced in a game.

My personal choice has to be in Heroes of Might and Magic 5: Tribes of the East:
i had to sacrifice Ornella to be able to fight the final boss of the campaign.

honorable mention goes to:

COD4´s ending.
On a side note, was Heroes 5 any good? Like, as good as Heroes 3?
it is REALLY good. my 2nd favorite game of all time.

Mass Effect:
-I'm sorry, Kaiden. I had to make a choice.
-I understand, commander. I don't regret a thing.
I tried to fight it, but it gets in your head. You can't imagine the pain. I was supposed to be their leader. These people trusted me. It wants me to stop you, but I won't. I WON'T!
Goodbye, Shepard. Thank you.

Actually, second time around in FFVII, I felt that Aeris were more of a nuisance. She was annoying and flirted with Cloud. I'd rather have Tifa with Cloud. Also, It was kinda sad when Cloud
went psycho and Tifa lost him to the Mako poisoning.
Yeah, I know it's not original, but fuck it, FFVII was great and really tugged my heart.

That sounds so familiar, yet I can't quite remember. What game was it from?

Chrono Trigger had some truly saddening moments. The whole desperation of the dome people in 2300AD really haunts me. The music cue really cuts my soul at this point any time I hear it. Just something about the utter lack of hope of the entire human race is really discomforting. Even after you fix a few things for them, they still are on a collision course with the end of humanity.

Sad stuff.

In Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, after you visit Faith's room, then watch the video (OK, Holotape) about the experiments they conducted on her, then go back into her room and look at the drawings on the wall. The comments Zoe makes are truly heartbreaking.
i really tried to like this game...

saddest moment in a game is in GOW 2....T_T
Well, Dreamfall is not for everyone. It's one of my favourites, but the lack of gameplay can put off a lot of people.

What sad moment was there in God of War 2?

Grand Theft Auto 4 Deal Ending
Spoilers:
For Someone like Niko to finally put he's rage behind him and to compromise in a deal only to have he's cousin killed at he's own wedding and then seek an empty revenge just seems like a pretty soul cruishing moment.

I'll argue for the PSP God of war game.

*SPOILERS*

Where he finds him daughter in the Elysium fields after chasing her for a good portion of game, only to have to leave her in order to save the world.
The only time a game has made me properly cry, but I still need to play Half-Life 2: Episode 2.

I'd have to go with the final boss fight in MGS3. Not so much the fight it self, but the fact that the game won't let you progress until you deliver the death blow to The Boss actually made feel sad. Just a little though.

Your whole family and most of the people of earth are dead. It's possible to save your brother, but most people won't figure this out the first time. An entire alien race is annihilated because of you. You are left stading on a cliff, staring at the sky as the Komato finaly leave Origin in peace. Tor commits suicide because he can't live with what he has done. The ending art shows that the earth will cultivate again but it's still very emotional.

When Claus dies in Mother 3 just after he meets his brother.
He didn't JUST meet his brother.

Claus revealed his identity as the Masked Man after have led the Pig Mask Army for so long after they cyborged him following the Mecha-Drago incident. It's all still sad, HOW he died, killing himself in that fashion. Knowing his brother, Lucas, had the Franklin badge on and casting lightning on him, effectlively reflecting the attack and killing Claus. And they're what... 11-12 years old? Truly a wtf sad moment.

ALSO

Giygas didn't necessarily go insane on his own. Pokey released him from the Devil's-Machine and Giygas' own power obliterated his conscious mind. Officially becoming one of the only (if not THE only) mentally-disabled end-boss.

Half Life 2: Episode 2

I have a request for the OP, could you request spoiler tags in the thread title or first post as it is getting ridiculous how many game ruining spoilers are being thrown around.

Oh yeah, it's the part at the
end, where Eli gets killed by those fat, slimy, huge, floating worm things.
That moment was pretty shocking at first, and sad a moment later, I have to admit.

Definitly, Gordon was a mute through the whole game and didnt even make a noise when he watched Eli die!
