You just won. That part really took me by surprise. Also, that part pissed me off alot more than saddened me because earlier he talked about how he had things to tell you and how you needed to catch up. What was he talking about. That game has some plot lines that I really want to know about.

For me its an odd one I didnt expect and happened quite recently, was playing far cry 2, and had one guy (Paul Ferenc, god rest his computerised soul, myself playing as Hakim) who had been my best buddy since my first mission, always going to him to help me on them and giving him a hand with his problems too, and he had saved me a few times too. I know it might seem strange but I had got pretty attatched to that guy, props to the developer for making my link with a character so well, particularily one that, in essence, is interchangable with any of the other characters out of there, he just happened to be the one who was chosen randomly to phone me up when I did my first mission.

Then I did this one mission and at the time I had no idea that your buddies had a sort of "3 strikes and out" system (on the xbox one i'm playing anyway, dont know if thats universal), I had only let him down twice before so when I saw the blue flare after I had finished off the remaining guys I sprinted over too him, thinking "I've got the spare injection, he'll be fine in no time"... then when he took the fist and didnt get better I was confused but thought "I've got 3 more, maybe he just needs some more this time", then a third went in and he wasnt getting any better and I thought "hey come on now this isnt funny, get up, get up!", then my character lay him back on the grass as he let out a last sigh of life and closed his eyes, what made it even more poignant were the words that came in the "achievment unlocked" message at the bottom of the screen, "goodnight, sweet prince"... I must have sat there for 15 mins in shock with tears in my eyes...

Umm no she isn't dead at all cuz if you remmember in The Longest Jorney the old crone that was telling the story was actualy April.
No, it was Lady Alvane.
Whoever maries Kian Alvane is her. It could be Zoe. Or someone completely else.

The bit in the original Homeworld... where you return to Kharak.... and it's just burning.

I don't know how the devs managed that but I always wanna cry when I watch it....

It was really clever the way they worked it in with the character development in the previous chapter. But it hurt like hell :(

I've never wanted to hurt anything like I want to hurt that slug... prepare for unforeseen consequences, ************.

Until we learn how Zoe or this "someone completely else" could know April's story in such details...is there even a reason to start an argument when your point has such big holes in it.
(And the fact that not many people know that April did something at all just stand to solid my side)

"Would you, Kindly" moment in Bioshock. It might not be sad for you, but just think about it. What if you learned that you were....................I know you would be shocked and both traumatized that your whole life is a lie.

Metal Gear Solid 4. When Snake has to go through the Micro wave tunnel it almost made me cry seeing his struggle and how much pain he was going through for the people he cared about, I thought It was quite sad...

Myst 3: Exile

Right at the end, when I realized you can die in a Myst game if you're retarded. And that I was, in fact, the retard for the job.

For me, the saddest part in a game - and the first time I ever felt sad about a game - was in Half-Life 2, when you part ways with Father Grigori.

He helped you survive Ravenholm, and stayed behind to fight against insurmountable odds. I stayed for several minutes watching him fight the zombie hoards until he vanished from my field of vision, and I couldn't hear his raucous laughter any more. I shed a manly tear.

I have three major, mainstream ones, as well as a few littler JRPG ones, but these are the best, or at least the best in their franchise.

SPOILERS

FFV: Death of Galuf
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess: Midna shattering the mirror after she leaves
Sonic Adventure 2: The Death of Shadow (which is why I was so pissed off when he showed back up in Sonic Heroes, SEGA, you bastards).

FFX and Link's Awakening are also major league sad, but I self imposed the one per franchise rule.

From Suikoden II...

The (presumed) death of Nanami towards the end of the game. Sad tear...

From Mother 3...

The final confrontation with Claus. No other explanation needed.

MGS 4 microwave tunnel. Because of Snake's agony and the overall feeling of helplessness that ou have as you see a splitscreen of
like, 5 main characters are left at death cliffhangers, and you know it's the last game so there's a good probability that they're going to die.
Though that's probably the only in game moment that I would actually consider "sad" as most action games aren't very good in the story department, and if i ever do play something storyline heavy like JRPGs, I usually hate most of the main characters so much that I would welcome their deaths with open arms.

Well, then April marries him. Or someone related to him.
Or Lady Alvane is related to him herself. Maybe his sister.

The fact that April was stabbed and (supposedly) killed is a bigger hinder of your theory
than Zoe not knowing many details about April is for my theory.
Somebody could have, I don't know, told her! :p Maybe even April herself when she turns up alive and well.
Or *gasp* Crow! He was there in the end, remember.

But crow does not know the whole story and Zoe suddenly waking up from coma, finding crow and getting old isn't the most plosible solution. It is the Occam's razor - "entities should not be multiplied unnecessarily." April being the story teller is the simplest solution. If you don't have solid evedence of it being untrue you must take that it is the truth.

Is it me or we are to fanboys arguing for their favorite game?
