Oh man, the saddest moment for me was beating Tales of Symphonia (one of course.) That game was so amazing, and long at that.

But the game...

When I found out Kratos was part of Cruxios. Also when Sheena fell down the hole and I thought she was dead, that stuff made me cry. I don't care about the others because Zelos wasn't there.
What ending did you choose? I chose the good one, it had the best plot twist ever.
What was the good ending again? I'm playing through again and i've pretty much had the same ending each time. I didn't even know there were multiple endings. Sure your not talking about Dawn of the New World?

When Delita's sister was killed because of Algus. It's not only a moment that pisses you right off, but i felt really bad for Delita as that was the beginning of slow downfall.

Oh and when Celes takes her "leap of faith"
FF Tactics. Nice call. I forgot a lot of that story. Better break out my PS2 and my stack of Playstation games.

Yeah, I'm a sissy and burst into tears. That was really incredibly sad. Then my grandma made fun of me for crying over a videogame. SHUT UP GRANDMA. THIS IS SRS.
I didn't cry or anything, but I felt horrible, and I reflected on myself more than I've ever done before. I mean, I'm Gordon Freeman,! I saved Alyx, I saved the citizens of City 17, and now something terrible happens and I have to watch, bound in a corner, as it happens, unable to do anything about it.

Yeah I didn't find out about that till a while into the game. It surprised me in how intense and real the choice was.

Final Fantasy 7- when Aerith dies. I don't care if you think it's original or not.

Final Fantasy 10- pretty much anything after you enter Sin for the last lot of fights, but the end movie sequence is a real tear jerker.

.Hack series

Realising that the MMO you and a million billion other people have been playing was created out of immense grief and suffering, and the thought that the game's AI had resorted to harming people in order to retain its purpose. Pretty tragic I thought.

Probably that bit in Lair where I played the game.

On a serious note, I would perhaps say the part of FF7 where Bugenhagen takes Red to Seto. The whole of the FF7 storyline is pretty damn depressing though.

I'm positive, I've never played Dawn of a New World. In the end, you can
choose between having Zelos or Kratos when you're at the inn. When Colette or any of them wants to talk to you, ditch all of them until Kratos comes or you go out alone. If you talk to him and play your cards right, you can get him back on your team.

Also, I didn't remember if the plot twist was revealed before or after, but if you didn't know, and desperately want to know:
Kratos is Lloyd's father, and the one who killed his mother

Suikoden...don't remember which one but one of the early ones.

There was a really annoying servant character who was "trying to be helpful" and I really hated. Then suddenly, he took a hit to save the main character and I felt bad for disliking him so much. It's like the dumb girl from the new Dr. Who series in the episodes: Silence in the Library and Forests of the Dead. She's hated, you don't like her much, and then BAM! Something tragic happens and you feel bad that the character's existence was so awful. There is a real trick to getting you to feel for an unlikeable character.

I would have to say the saddest moment Ive ever seen in a game was the darkness. When Jenny was shot in the back of the head at point blank range right in front of you. While you can do nothing to stop it because your own powers are literally holding you back.

Seriously, give the game a play and see what I mean.

Aeris dies in FF7, Tidus is a dream in FFX, Naomi+EVA+Big Boss+Major Zero all die in MGS4, Wesker dies in RE5, the Boss was still a good guy in MGS3, James killed Mary in Silent Hill 2 and the monsters come from his twisted psyiche.

At the end of Unreal 2...

You are on a planet and you see your space ship get shot down and crash. Naturally, anyone would just keep playing because you'd think that the THREE damned members would have used a fucking escape pod, and that you'll see them later on. NOPE. Instead, after you beat the game the last scene is you flying away on an escape pod and listening to the last transmission of your ship where all your friends talk about what an inspiration you were, and how much they'll miss you, because they're going down and about to die.

Fine then I will say it the ending to FF7 Crisis Core Zach has the most epic tear jerking death of all time, and aeris sucked, if the option had been given I would have killed her myself.
The fate of Dom's wife was almost suprising but I saw it coming on the level leading up to finding her.

Dogmeats death in FO3, until you get tired of reloading your save and having Dogmeat go off and do something completly retarded again then I just leave his dead ass their in complete fury. then you get his puppy who appears to super dog and can't take damage.

I felt bad killing the Rachni queen in ME

GTA 4 at the end of the story you go back into the game world and realize "huh there really is nothing to do in this game anymore, and yeah maybe you are supposed to be sad about Kate ro roman's death depending on your choice but I hated both of them so...

The end of Fire Emblem chapter 19, as well as Chapter 28 (I think it was 28...). If you've played the game, you will know what I'm talking about. I got a little misty eyed at both moments. I love that series.
