"Oh, I know that. I mean I will win in the short term, the long term will be a far more uphill battle than this. I'm sure you have all kinds of fail safes, backups, hidden facts you're not telling anyone at all but have pre-prepared in case of your death, etc. I'm amazingly not as stupid as you might think, though many have made that mistake before. I'm not so egotistical to think that ultimately winning in the fight against you won't take up many decades of my life, but I have that kind of time. Though I am confident in my ability to do so, it's all a matter of time, patience, and perseverance. Three things I have plenty of." Richard replied.

"Though I will say this, it has been far too long since I have had a true battle of wits. I'm perfectly content to continue this until my friends have out numbered and out maneuvered your compatriot and then I have to do something with you. He'll probably nearly defeat them multiple times, but their sheer numbers and constant attacks will sooner or later wear him down. Then they will probably wish to simply arrest you, but you and I both know that if you go to jail, the only thing that will happen is you will be broken out. So I may do something to you before then to protect the greater good. Nothing personal at this point, but just good business."

Katie flinched slightly as Husk cut the vines; she felt a little jab of pain when each one was severed. She would probably have to resort to less elegant tactics if she was going to put him down. She retracted what was left of her weapon and quickly began to think. If he specialised in using his blood to fight, there had to be a way to stop him using it.

She called the remnants of her vines back to her arms, and retreated a few steps to think. She would help him by making him bleed, so the best way to bring him down would be to tire him out. If Katie could fatigue Husk, she could incapacitate him or knock him out at her leisure. The only problem with that idea was that she had to be careful she didn't wear herself down.

With the new plan in mind, Katie waited for Husk to strike. Theoretically, the brute would try to hit her as hard as possible, and she resolved to be out of his way at the last second. His attacks would land where she had been, not where she would be.

"Of course I'll be broken out...the benefits of being buddie-buddies with the higher-ups. Wish they could have given me a better bodyguard though, or hell at least give me two! But no, the few I requested were on a mission that went south, and now most are out of it for at least a month. Bullshit I say!" Mordtoten complained, shaking his head with disapproval, "I would prefer to get arrested, doubt that'll happen though with you here. Maybe I can convince your colleagues though, pfft doubt it since I'm telling it to you all."

Husk paced around Katie, making sure to keep an eye out on the rest of the group. He wasn't sure if when or if they'd jump in, but he'd have to assume the worst. He allowed a long blade to form on his right arm, using it for his attack on Katie as he lunged towards her.

Husk's attack was fast, almost too fast for Katie to evade it. She quickly sidestepped his lunge, dancing out of the way, but the blood-blade hit her armour, leaving a cut down her side. Thankfully it hadn't cut her skin and drawn blood. Katie didn't want to think about what he might be able to do with her blood as his weapon. She spun around to face him and retaliated with a quick kick to the small of his back. It wasn't meant to hurt Husk, just to provoke him into trying to hit harder, using more brawn than brain.

"And I thought guys didn't hit girls," she said to annoy him further. "So much for you being a gentleman." She backed up again as she spoke, preparing to feint to the left and dive right when he attacked again.

Jason ran to Katie's side, skidding to a halt beside her.

"Sorry I'm late, Katie. The conversation between Rich and that Murderkill guy is pretty engaging. So, what're we gonna do about this lamer?" Jason asked, carelessly pointing in Drake's direction.

"I'm just trying to tire him out," Katie whispered back so her foe didn't hear. "I think he tends to hit hard, so if he can't hit me, he'll get aggravated and lose control. Then we can deal with him easily once he's fatigued to the point of passing out."

She wove closed the gash in her armour as she spoke, waiting for Husk's next attack.

"Ah. Okay. Never thought of tiring out the guy before, but yeah, that sound like a plan." Jason whispered back intriguingly before turning his attention back to Husk.

"Ok Husk, here's the deal: I bet you 10 dollars and a steak dinner that you won't be able to put a scratch on Heartbreaker. And I mean an actual scratch, not some little bruise, but a giant gash. So, ready to lose, man?" He asked, calling Husk out.

"Sweetie, you're completely insane," Katie whispered to Jason, now truly afraid for her life. If Husk were to take that bet, she could lose an arm or a leg. That blade of his...

A detached part of Katie's mind wandered slightly as they waited for Husk's response. It seemed to her that a sword made of hardened blood wouldn't be as effective as a crushing weapon like a mace or club. Still, it had cut through her plant armour with ease, so she had no reason to doubt its effectiveness.

"Don't worry Katie. I believe in you girl! You got this!" He whispered back, encouraging her sweetly.

"And besides, he may be strong, but he isn't faster or more agile than me. I won't let him lay a finger on you, with or without the armor. And you can count on that." He added before facing their adversary, streching his arms and legs before getting into a ready stance.

"So...are you ready for this Empty Shell?!" Jason called out to Drake.

"Ah you are the one that plays mind games! Well hah-ha I have a means to counteract that! Had to after a couple of incidents with people trying to bend my mind, but not anymore! Multiple chips in the brain to stop people like you from fucking with my mind. So that stupid crap your trying to pull won't work!" Mordtoten said triumphantly to Dona, his laughter filling the lab.

Husk shook his head at Mordtoten, focusing back on the foes in front of him. He didn't reply to Jason's taunts, knowing that they only served to annoy him, try to keep him unfocused.
'And there will be none of that,' Husk thought, charging at Jason. He halted his course right before he reached Jason, charging at Katie in one quick movement.

"Well Dr. Mordtoten, or would you prefer professor, that all depends on you. If you don't resist, I have no reason to kill you really. I have no problem with letting the justice system take its course, though I would suggest a change of career when you get out. Now ,if you intend to hurt my friends or release that little virus there, I will kill you to protect them or the world. So, again, what happens next is entirely up to you." Richard replied simply.

"I did come here with the intention of gutting you like a trout, but you are coming off not as a psychotic mass murderer with a PhD. You come off as more of a man simply doing the job to which he was assigned, and I don't begrudge people who are simply doing their job. Now, if we have too many run ins like this or the virus does get released, I will come for you. Though, I still need to destroy your lab, your progress, and take you in, but I probably won't tear you limb from limb."

Katie tried to dive out of Husk's way again, but she was too slow to anticipate his quick change of direction. He smashed a fist into her while she was in mid-dive, sending her flying ten feet across the lab. She hit the wall hard and dropped to the ground, winded and bordering on unconsciousness. Thankfully nothing was broken; her armour had taken the brunt of the hits.

Good news everyone! I'll be able to still be on the internet until 4-ish tomorrow, so yay~! :D

Mordtoten shivered slightly at the uncomfortable, tingly sensation he felt in his head. He quickly brushed that aside once he saw Husk throw Katie into the wall.

"Hello!? Come on you know better than to do stuff like that here! God it's times like these I wish this place had a gym or something so all you people can just duke it out there," he said after scolding Husk.

"It's Professor. Jesus how many times do I have to tell people. Also: NO. You will not be destroying my lab...well actually it's not that bad if you destroy this stuff here since all the hard notes are elsewhere. It'll just really piss me off," Mordtoten started before a loud alarm started going off in the lab.

"Oh now what!? Brought friends of yours?" Mordtoten exclaimed angrily as he went to go and turn off the alarm.

"Err...no," Garrus said with some confusion, not quite sure what was going on.

"I was about to ask the same question professor. It seems someone else decided to destroy your work as well, and I doubt that they will be as willing to talk as I have." Richard said as he looked to the entryway to the lab. He would wait to see who it was before he reacted.

Jason dashed towards Husk, instantly filling with rage as he caught them off guard. He tackled him, sending them both flying in the direction away from the doctor and the virus. The two landed, skidding across the ground. Jason began wailing on his assailant before they even came to a complete stop. He may have been angry, but he still had enough sense left to remember who he was up against. As he fought, a small, zigzag-like crack forms itself on his mask. Eventually, Jason began to wrap his claws around Husk's neck.

"Y'know, there is more than one way to kill your opponent. Strangulation is one of them." Jason growled deeply and grimly as his grip tightened ever so eagerly. The alarms rung loudly in his ears, but in this state he considered them to be a nuisance and grew angrier, tightening his grip even further.

Simon, being the closest one to the entryway, whirled around as the alarm went off, his knives coming up as he fell into a defensive stance.

Considering they were up against super beings though, Simon doubted whomever it was that was breaking in was going to use the front door

It was becoming difficult to see what was going on; Katie's vision was blurred at the edges. She groaned softly and looked around the lab, blinking to try to clear her vision. She could hear alarms now. What were they for? Was someone else coming? She looked through the haze over her eyes at what she thought was the door. Figures were standing near it, but she couldn't tell who they were.

Katie tried to stand up to continue fighting, but slipped and fell back to the floor, her sight worse. Husk's punch had been a lot harder than it had seemed. She tried blinking again, but it didn't help. For some reason she felt tired, as if she hadn't slept in days, and her head hurt. Katie sighed, closed her eyes and slumped on the floor, unconscious.

Alright, the move was successful...and boring. Most of my stuff is still packed, but at least the computer is here with me! Sorry I've been gone, and seemingly the roleplay has been dead without me. Well let's just fix that shall we?

Mordtoten turned off the alarm, pressing a few buttons at the panel. "Let's just see, they've destroyed most of my cameras...where are they now?" Mordtoten asked out loud, before an explosion at one of the side-entrances answered his question.

Smoke bombs were thrown in immediately, with gun fire targeting everyone. Husk pushed off Jason, jumping over and pushing Mordtoten behind a wall, before turning around to take on the new attackers.

"New targets guys!" Garrus yelled out, being extremely careful with where he caused quakes.
