"See Mordtoten, this is the kind of shit that happens when you start trying to make a virus that will destroy humanity. Everyone either wants to have it or destroy it." Richard said before carefully opening fire. He didn't aim for kills in case they had some kind of explosives rigged that they would set off if they died or got desperate.

"Oh, kinda like how when you made that suit the government forced you into working for them and then files on it were stolen? Something like that?" Mordtoten fired back, making sure to stay behind the wall. The smoke was causing a lot of problems, and he certainly didn't want anyone breaking anything by accident.

He ran back over to his control panel, hitting a few buttons and causing the fans to turn on. He fled back to his hiding spot, and once safely hidden proclaimed how shocked he was that it worked.

"Actually yes, and that was you people anyway. How about you try and make a defense for someone who can bend the very laws of science like they were goddamn string. Oh, and at least I was important enough to have someone sent after me with actual power and experience, rather than a bunch of brand new people with little experience fighting anyone outside of your basic knuckle dragging thug." Richard shot back as he kept up the fire before Mordtoten hid.

"and at least I have a pair of testicles to go with my brain, you spineless bastard." He muttered.

"Hey you saw what I just did! I almost got shot fifty times! Besides I'll leave the gung-ho stuff to the lackies," Mordtoten replied from behind his wall.

Husk and Garrus continued to take out the new targets, both of them getting close to not cause any damage to the lab.

"Yea, which was then promptly followed by you cowering behind a wall while we fight off your enemies. Now, as I said, you have no spine." Richard continued in between shots.

The smoke and resutling gunfire informed Simon that he was seriously outmached and outgunned in his current postion.

Leaping off the railing, he landed in the lab below doing his best to stay hidden as his commrades fought the new intruders. Gripping the sides of a support beam, he made his way up towards the ceiling. Hopefully he'd get a better vantage point from above

Husk tossed Jason with such force, that he collided with a wall, snapping out of his "moment".

"Christ, I gotta stop doing that!" He said, rubbing his head before remembering his unconscious girlfriend, trotting over to her to avoid having anymore damage inflicted upon her. He ran through the smoke and gunfire with Katie in his arms, not stopping until he found the wall Richard and Mortorten were behind. He kneeled down next to them.

"Sorry to interrupt the ravishingly deep conversation between you two, but who the hell are these guys?! And why are they shooting at us?!" He yelled frantically, not taking an eye off Katie.

"I don't think either of us knows who they are, but I think it is safe to say they want to do something with either the virus or Mordtoten here." Richard replied as he stood and returned fire as best he could.

"Both of which can result in very bad things!" Mordtoten yelled back, taking a peak at the ensuing battle.

Garrus was having a tough time dealing with the number of targets, having to get close to them to make sure he didn't accidentally knock anything over. Because of that he had been shot a few times. 'Nothing deadly,' he thought, after the second bullet hit his arm. He was about to send a quake at the target closest to him, before another slammed into him; both of them being sent onto one of the work areas. They crashed into the equipment, falling between the bench and the wall everyone was hiding behind.

Garrus groaned as he lifted himself up, taking out a piece of glass that had lodge itself into his back. He cursed as he looked around, noticing Mordtoten just staring at him. Garrus could tell that the professor had an 'oh shit' face even behind the mask. His suspicion was confirmed when Mordtoten ordered Drake into the exit and made his way over to it.

"Well nice job everyone. Hope you enjoy the virus. I'll be sure to have someone drop by to pick up the corpses!" Mordtoten said as he closed the exit behind him, locking the large door behind him.

Hey everyone...Post! Show me that you're all still here! I don't want to have to consider some of you 'kicked out'. Yeah it's a little slow, but I was the only one who could drive the plot and I had to move. Now I have some more free time (though not nearly as much) and we can get the ball rolling once more (especially with the now released virus that EVERYONE is infected with). So please, at least let me know you are still here.

More alarms went off as the people that had been attacking immediately left as fast as possible. Richard moved to the middle of the room as the men left and the shooting stopped. He quickly deactivated the alarms before taking a seat.

"Beautiful, now you all are infected with a virus we have no defense for. We are now considered under quarantine until your symptoms become horrific or the CDC shows up. I guess I'll see what I can do, but there isn't much at them moment. We can't risk spreading the virus until we know what it does or your lives become endangered, and they will become endangered." Richard said honestly from his seat, he put in a call to the CDC who would quarantine the park with claims of E-Coli poisoning. Though they would not enter the lab, it would keep the virus from spreading beyond its walls.

Katie stirred, coughed a couple of times and woke from her unconsciousness. She tried to open her eyes, but they flickered open and closed, so she forced them open with an effort of will, and looked around. "Huh? Wha's going on?" she murmured, her vision still fuzzy. She reached up to her head to try to pull her hood off. That could help with her sight.

Her hands felt heavy because of her armour, but she eventually lifted one and slid her hood off. There was no change to her slightly blurred vision, though. "What happened? Did... did we win?" she asked softly, fighting to keep her eyes open.

"Quite the opposite, you're all infected with Mordtoten's virus. We have the CDC blocking the area off as we speak." Richard replied seriously, his voice making sure that it was understood he was in no way joking.

"No... no, that's not right. We don't lose... we're the good guys," Katie murmured, now desperately trying to get her eyes back into focus. "I can't see too well... and my head hurts. Are those some of the symptoms?"

"Which group have you been running with, because it sure as hell hasn't been us. So far we've lost to Leland, Husk, Mordtoten, it's becoming a theme. We can beat everyone but the Union, but back to the point. Yes, you are all infected, and your vision is probably the result of the head trauma you received. Even if it was a symptom, I would have no clue at this point." Richard replied figuring he would go over whatever notes were on the computer. He could at least learn to recognize some of the symptoms based on what viruses he was mixing.

Katie didn't answer Richard, instead trying to look around to figure out who was with them. Through the haze in her eyes, she could make out a lot of greyish-metal shapes, presumably tables or desks. She looked the other way, and say a large patch of blue in the sea of grey. Most likely it was Jason in armour of his own. Katie smiled weakly up at what she thought was his armoured face.

Golem ran down from the upper story. He had been holding off some mooks when the lockdown began. He had just heard the last part of Richard and Katie's exchange. Trapped!? You mean I'm stuck here until everyone else dies?. He thought to himself the idea quickly whipping him into a panic. After a few moments of hyper-ventilating he ran to the vault door and began banging on it. Createing a few good sized dents and a thunderous racket.

Hey what's up i'm still around just caught up in studying for finals.

"Damnit Tommy, stop moving! You are infected as well, and if it wasn't for this suit so would I. Now sit the hell down before you start putting the world at risk because you suddenly became claustrophobic! Everyone currently in this room is covered if not infected with the virus, so if you leave you put the world at risk." Richard shouted. He was hoping his tone and argument would convince him to calm down somewhat.

Golem stopped after Richard yelled at him he slumped against the door with whimper. I don't wanna be sick.... He was beggining to feel hot, he pulled his mask off revealing bright blue droplets of sweat forming on his brow. Tommy wiped some off and looked at it Awesome, either the virus is making me sweat Gatorade or my immune system is starting up, I wonder if this virus was devised with magicalyly enhanced immune systems in mind? Tommy then walked over to Richard to show him.

"Well, we did all that fighting for nothing. Oh well. I still feel fine..." Jason said before he let out a loud cough. Out of habit, he raised his hand to cover his mouth, but he quickly remembered that his mask was still on. Seeing that the violence was over, and the fact that he was already sick, the mask unraveled and began the slither weakly down his face.

"Erm...guess I spoke too soon." He said with another loud cough. Before he got up, he felt Katie squirm around slightly in his arms. He looked down to her with a smile.

"Morning princess, you feeling okay?" He said, his voice sounding cracked and scratchy as he turned his face away from her to cough.

A wave of nausea swept through Katie, and she began coughing as well. Her stomach felt like she'd just gotten off a particularly disorienting rollercoaster. She looked up at the sound of Jason's voice, her sight slowly returning to normal.

"Hey, Jason..." she said. "Could you put me down, please? Careful, though. I might cough something up on you, and we don't want that." She gave a faint laugh, slightly amazed by her own words. Even under the effects of a most likely lethal virus and a possible concussion, she could still quip.

Then she felt her stomach heave, and she clamped her lips shut to avoid vomiting all over Jason. The virus was clearly acting faster than she'd imagined.
