Garrus was through listening to the music his brother was playing. He got out of bed, opening up the door and throwing a shoe at his brother.

"Some of us are sleeping you know!" Garrus yelled at him groggily.
"Yeah, I know," Leland replied back, "I guess everyone is probably awake from that. I guess I'll stop, for now." With that he put the bagpipes back into his music rooming, heading down to the kitchen to get more of his smoothie.

He noticed Jason in the empty pantry, and said, "Sorry about not having food. I'm the only one that can eat anything in this house...well normally I would, can't now."

"I would, but I'd rather not wake her up now, even though I'm sure Leland already took care of that..." Jason said before hearing Leland.

"Oh, it's cool. We'll all just starve, y'know, nothing too serious." He replied with overbearing sarcasm.

Richard was simply leaning against the counter in the kitchen drinking tea while all this was happening.

"Are you sure you guys want to go hiking right after you have just gotten over a life threatening illness?" he asked.

"Well personally hiking helps me concentrate and clears my head. Mainly because of the low temperatures and the solitude."

Aaron practiced freezing his hand over and over again.

"Well jeez, SORRY. Wasn't really planning on having a bunch of enemies over for the next few days, living in MY HOUSE. If so I would have gone all the way to the closest grocery store, bought some yummy food for you all and bring it on home. Than inject it with a bunch of deadly poison so you ALL FUCKING DIE!" Leland yelled at Jason with sudden rage, quickly calming down after the outburst.

"Yeah, so. No food. We have a green house that has fruits and veggies, but that's about it," he muttered.

"How about I just fly down and get you all food?" Richard suggested in a tone that made it obvious that he was pointing out something he felt was obvious.

"Then we can go hiking." He added as an afterthought.

Leland sighed, muttered something about how he'll get food for everyone before disappearing in a blink of an eye.

He looked around the grocery store, getting a couple of looks from the people he had randomly appeared by. He wiped there minds of this event as he grabbed a cart and walked through the aisles, picking up some stuff he thought they'd like. Once he was done getting everything he went to the self-check out and payed for the food. Once everything was in a bag he teleported back to the kitchen, placing everything in it's rightful area.

He then got out a few pans, making a small batch of pancakes, eggs, and bacon. He put them on a fancy tray, before heading upstairs.

He knocked on Katie's door, before letting himself in with a 'good morning'.
"Sorry if I awoke you, but getting up early is always a good thing. Means you have a lot more time to do things. Anyways, made you breakfast! See, some pancakes with some slices of bacon as a smile and eggs as eyes!" Leland exclaimed excitedly, pointing out the obvious as he set the tray on the desk next to her.

Katie shifted under the covers slightly, recognising Leland's voice. "Huh? Wha?" she murmured, the smell of fresh pancakes coming from somewhere nearby. She poked her head out to take in the situation, and said, "You know, this wasn't necessary. I can get my own food, and probably provide for everyone else as well." She gestured to the wooden walls. "I assume you could repair any damage I cause to the place if I grew food from the walls?"

"Err, yeah I guess. Not sure why you would want to grow food out of the walls when there is a perfectly good green house outside," Leland explained with slight confusion. "I'm pretty sure some people would like to eat something more than just fruits and veggies while you guys are here too," he said before adding, "Wasn't sure what you wanted to drink, so I just got a glass of water. Some people like different drinks when eating pancakes. I personally like orange juice, cuts through the sweet taste."

"Each to their own," Katie answered, flicking the hair our of her eyes. A thought came to her concerning Leland, and she acted on it without a second look. "Hey, can I ask you something? Why are you doing all this?" she asked. "You know Jason and I are together, so why are you so interested in me, even though you know perfectly well I don't have a similar interest in you?"

She stopped herself, both slightly afraid of possible reactions to what she'd said, and amazed at her coherence considering she'd just gotten over a deadly virus the previous day.

"Well, huh that is an interesting question," Leland said stroking his beard, pulling up a chair as he sat down to think.

"I guess you just fascinate me. You're practically perfect in my eyes. Smart, beautiful, strong. There's just so many things I like about you. Whenever I see you I get those weird butterfly things in my stomach, though as of now that might just be the meds. Heh, I know you don't feel the same way...but, maybe in time you will. I can at least hold on to that hope," he explained sincerely.

"And yet you only really know me because you're a telepath," Katie answered, tapping the side of her head once to imply Leland poking around inside it. "That's one of the reasons I don't like you, aside from you being in the Union, raiding the Pentagon and all. I don't think anyone likes a voice in their head that isn't their own, myself included."

"Well I'd like to get to know you for real if that isn't a problem. I only poked around in your head briefly, and I'm sorry since that seemingly bothered you. Um, so yeah sorry about that. Not gonna leave the Union though, I quite like working with my mother and Major and some of the other people. I know it makes me 'evil', but I guess I just am then if that's the case," he told her, tapping his left foot against the floor, "And who knows maybe things will change with time. I have centuries ahead of me, and I certainly haven't planned that far ahead."

Richard could still feel Dona in his mind, but had learned to block it out for the most part. It sucked have another psyche in your head, you heard every thought as well as what they said. He made a plate before deciding to wait in his room to talk to Camille about getting paints. Overhearing the conversation between Leland and Katie, he briefly contemplated putting in his two cents and quickly decided against it. He continued into his room before shutting the door and looking out the window with his plate of food and tea. The background went well with his leisurely eating pace.

Katie raised her eyebrows slightly, the smell of pancakes becoming harder to resist as it filled the room. "Centuries of life. Does that come with your abilities? Don't answer that," she quickly added, not wanting to know.

Then a new idea hit her: one of perspective. Leland was only evil from the Society's point of view because he enjoyed working with his mother and people like her. He had, in all essentials, an extended family that was the Union. In Katie's eyes, the Society was a team of supers intent on preventing the Union from causing damage to the world, and she figured that she and her friends were the good guys in the movie, for wont of a better analogy. Perhaps Leland and his "family" thought of the Society as their antagonists.

Katie was stunned by this revelation. And then she became afraid. Of what, she didn't know. "Um, Leland... I need some time alone. Would you mind, please?" she asked quietly, staring blankly into space.

"Oh, alrighty then. That's no problem. Uh, I hope you enjoy breakfast," he said somewhat thrown off by the sudden change. He bid her goodbye and left her room, about to head back to his music room before running into his mom.

"Good morning mum," Leland said, greeting her with a hug and kiss.
"Hey son. You doing alright? No problems with anyone, cause if so you know we can make it so that they never find the bodies," Camille said to him. He knew that while she was joking, there was also a bit of seriousness in what she said.
"Uh no. I'm good. Um, Richard wanted to ask you something, but for the life of me I can't remember it," he told her. She nodded, saying goodbye before going over to Richard's room and knocking on the door.

Richard placed his food down and opened the door.

"Ah, hello Camille. I was going to ask if you happened to have painting supplies, but your son said you were busy. Figured I would wait until you were finished before I asked."

"Good for you that my morning calls did not last as long as they normally do. Painting supplies eh? I might have some packed away in the attic. Probably old and unused since no one really paints in this house," she explained already turning to head back down the hall, "You can join me if you like or just wait here until I get back."

Katie had managed to confuse herself. What was good and what was evil? Everyone had their own cause, their own reason for doing what they did. She remembered why she had joined the Society in the first place: to help the team in any way she could. She had figured it was the right thing to do, even though she thought she could never compare to the skills of Richard, Garrus or Patriot.

Her thoughts drifted to Mordtoten, and the virus. Katie classed him as an evil man: who in their right mind would create a virus that would be the equivalent to Ebola? That had almost killed her and her friends, and she didn't want to suffer at the hands of someone like Mordtoten; she didn't want to die. Leland was lucky in that respect: he had a much longer life ahead of him. In hindsight, maybe applying to join the Society had been a bad move.

"I guess so, and I figure I'll join you. Can't hurt to lend a hand, considering I need an easel, canvas, paints, etc. Even with all your power, you still only have two hands." Richard replied as he began to follow her.
