"I don't have any here. My mother might have some but she's probably doing her morning calls, so you'd have to wait a little bit," Leland replied back.

"I kinda wish everyone was awake. It's so odd having guests, but so exhilarating at the same time! And there's a ton of stuff to do outside. We have a lake close by that's frozen over, and there's the large backyard that's covered in snow. You can even ski up on the mountain, not that I could do that with my current injuries, but you guys could if you wanted."

"Very well then. Well Leland, I would think you and my teammates are in the same boat. I doubt they will want to be doing too much, then again, I have been wrong before." Richard replied.

"They're a tough bunch! I'm sure they'd be fine, though perhaps waiting a day or two would be better. Get their stamina back up and all that. How do you like this place so far? I know you haven't been here long and you've only seen a small portion, but still. Honestly there aren't too many interesting things inside, most of the rooms are barren," Leland replied taking another sip, "I mean, we've got the living room, kitchen, my library and music rooms, mom's office, the gardens, and the exercise room. Those are like the only places that get any traffic."

"True, I did set one of them on fire and he was fine. Long story, but you are probably right. I like the place well enough, though I myself find it weird that I'm not far more guarded considering you and the leader of the union are within easy killing distance from us. Can't really explain it, probably just experience." Sitting down as he talked, he figured if he was going to be around a bit, he may as well sit down.

"Don't worry about us. I like you guys, so of course I won't kill you. And mom, well she probably just doesn't see any of you as a threat at all," Leland said with a laugh, "Especially with you guys still injured and with her taking some of the member's powers. It's 'payment' to her."

"I feel like waking everyone up right now. Good idea? Bad?" he asked, looking over at all his musical equipment with an evil smile.

"What do you care what I think? If you want my opinion, for both of us it would be a bad idea. For you though, it would almost be expected." Richard replied with a shrug.

Jason awoke with a usual jolt, eyes widened in their usual shocked way. But something wasn't right. The room was pure white. Nothing else, nothing more. Curiously, Jason removed himself from the bed, and found himself floating. As he drifted, a blue crack in space appeared in front of him, enlarging until it resembled a body. Black tendrils began to leak out of the cracks, fully filling out the shape of the figure. Jason looked on confusedly.

"...Erebus? What is going on? How can I see you?" He asked

"Simple kid. You're still dreaming." He replied simply.

"And you can talk now?!"

"I've always been able to talk. I've been the voice of your conscience. And continuing my job, I've decided to approach you in your dreams to tell you something. You've heard about the Keyholder that went crazy and turned into a beast?"

"Yeah, I remember him."

"Well, that's because his Key was beginning to fed on his emotions, especially his anger. His Key fed on the anger, until it fully consumed him, using his armor to transform him into a beast. That same thing is happening to you. See this? Erebus pointed to a spot on his face. It was a crack that was in a zig-zag shape.

"Yeah, what about it?" Jason asked.

"This crack grows whenever you get angry. You can't this crack grow any further. Let's just say, shit will hit the fan if that happens."

"So what do you want me to do about it?"

"Don't get angry. Keep composure when you're fighting, and don't get worked up over little things."

"But why are you telling me this? Wouldn't you want to feed on my anger?"

"Yeah I would, but what would happen after you become the beast? I wouldn't be in control, and you won't revert back to normal. You'll die. And I live in this body too y'know. And besides, you're still young. You still have a full life ahead of you, you're surrounded by friends, and you got a pretty girlfriend. And I can't bring myself between that."

"Ummm, wow Ere. Thanks."

"Yeah whatevs. But this'll be my only warning. I'll still be with you mentally, but this'll be my first and last time approaching you this way. Okay?"

Jason nodded before waking up. He looked around the dimly lit room before looking over to Katie, who was still asleep. As gently as he could, he got out of bed, trying his best not to wake her.

"He's right. If I wanna live, I'm gonna have to make some changes." He said to himself as he walked out the room, quietly closing the door behind him.

Leland laughed once more, finishing up his smoothie as he went over to the rest of his instruments.

"Hmm, need something loud. Something that'll certainly get everyone up. Something...A-Ha!" Leland said triumphantly, walking over to a set of bagpipes and putting them on.
"Oh yes, this will wake them up. Supposed to be played outside, but whatever. Truth be told this is one of my favorite instruments," Leland said walking out of the music room and playing a tune, the music echoing through the whole lodge.

Before he could make his way down the hallway, Jason quickly notices Leland come out of his room. He prepared to bid good morning to the gentlemen, that is, until he noticed that he had a bagpipe cradled in his arms. Jason took on a look of distraught as Leland blew into the loud instrument.

"Ah hell nah!" Jason quickly yelled, covering his ears as he made his way in the opposite direction, trying to get away from the noise.

"Well, I guess that what happens when I wake up early!" He said as he made his way downstairs.

Richard snickered into his hand at Jason's reaction. he figured he may as well join the man and followed him downstairs, quickly catching up he said hello to his teammate.

Jason loudly said good morning to Richard as he approached him.

"Geez! I knew Leland was a playful guy, but a bagpipe this early in the morning?! Really?!" Jason yelled over the noise.

"So, what are we gonna do today?!" He asked.

"He wanted to wake you all up, what can I say?" Richard joked before continuing.

"I'm going to try and see if I can't get some paint supplies. It's time to see if my skills have diminished since my time with the Society. Though I am up for pretty much anything."

Simon was already up, the sound of the bagpipes being a signal for him that the others were already up and about.

Still...

He looked up at the sky and continued to lay back on the roof, a small smile on his face. Hopefully staring death in the face would get this sloppy group of heroes he was apart of into fighting shape again.

The sky was so peaceful at the dawn. Serene even...

"Paint? What for? Giving the armor a fresh coat?" Jason yelled before grabbing his rumbling stomach.

"So, do they have anything to eat here?" He says, walking into the kitchen.

"Very funny. No, I'm actually going to be painting a still life of the scene outside of my window in the lodge. My father wanted me to be a well rounded person. So he had me educated in the arts as well as the sciences. Painting just stuck with me." Richard said as he followed him into the kitchen.

"No, I was lucky enough to just find some teabags. I don't think they have food."

Jason sighed. The lack of food and and presence of loud noises were starting to give him a headache.

"Ah. Well that's just prime." He murmured.

"So, we're high in the mountains, with nothing to eat. That's swell." He says as he begins to rummage around the pantry, in search of the slightest hint of edible foodstuffs.

Something was screaming in Katie's ears, and she didn't like it. She groaned, rolled over under the sheets of her bed and tried to block the noise out, partially succeeding. She curled up deep under the covers, not wanting to get up and leave the comfortable, warm bed in exchange for a relatively colder room.

A penthouse somewhere in the virgin islands and a pair Russian super villains made up Aaron's perfect dream. Though just as his dream started to become more explicit a lout noise ended his paradise. He fell out of his bed and hit the floor hard.

"FUCK!!!" he yelled which filled his room.

He got up though he still felt a little nauseous. He decided that he needed to get some air. He made his way to Jason who was scrambling from pantry to pantry.

"Hey man wanna go for a climb?"

Jason let out a dry, sarcastic laugh as he continued to look for food.

"Not with a empty stomach I don't. Find me some food, then i'll probably think about going on a hike...on unchartered, unpredictable, terrain." Jason grumbled crankily, thinking about the absurdity of the situation.

"Well why don't you get your significant other to grow us some food...DUH," Aaron grabbed some ice from the freezer and started munching on it.
