"I'm sure that hurts, but can you blame him. He has spent his life with the Society, to know that his mother wishes to destroy it, that has to hurt and hurt deeply. Don't get me wrong, whatever made you decide to switch had to hurt as much if not worse than what your son probably sees as the ultimate betrayal, and he probably doesn't know about it or else he would be on your side like Leland is, but try and look at this from his perspective a bit. He grew up in a world of good and evil, and he chose to be good, and then to find out at some point his mother turned to what he finds evil and knowing someday he will have to fight you has to be eating at him. Now I'm not going to tell you what to do or how to treat your son, I'm just saying think like him for a moment if you haven't." Richard sat silently as Leland mentioned the parasite. He finished speaking.
"No matter what, I will say this. For all their faults, for their good and evil, you have certainly raised two very powerful sons. Garrus is a good man and Leland, well, Leland is most certainly someone who changes those around him. I didn't know magic existed until I met him, figured the old stuff was myth and the new stuff was mirrors and wires, but he certainly shifted that view. Now I have a whole new respect for historical mentions of powers beyond our imaginings, I'll tell you that." He chuckled a bit again.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said anything. For some reason your demeanor turns me into a very talkative and uninhibited man. That and the fact you just saved the lives of everyone who I call teammate." He had another pause as he thought of a way to pose the question. He couldn't figure out another way to ask it unless he was blunt.
"So,this parasite that stopped your aging has something to do with healing my teammates, I'm guessing? What kind of parasite would have so much of a mutually beneficial relationship with the host that it would actually augment their DNA to make them practically immortal? If you don't mind my asking." Richard stated.
