"Wait, there were bathrooms in our rooms? I guess I should've open each door before hand, then." Jason said before thanking Camille as she left.

"Alright then Katie, you can go first." He suggested, practicing his acts of chivalry.

Richard couldn't help but notice the card as Simon passed it off to Camille. He knew something was up, but he didn't know what and just what this all meant. If they were trying to be secretive about it though, it couldn't be good. The fact that Simon was vague about who he got the card from only reconfirmed his suspicion. It would be something he would have to ask about in private.

Simon nodded, waiting for Camille and Major Crime to leave the room before he teleported to the second floor and knocked on the door before entering.

He'd have to think of an excuse to the others of why he left...but he was sure he'd think of something

Major Crime opened up the door, letting Simon into the large office. It was more modern then the rest of the house, it's defining feature being an extremely large fishtank that spanned one of the walls. Camille was sitting behind a desk, and she motioned for Simon to take a seat.

"Really like what you did there, handing me that card and telling me you wanted to discuss it in front of most of your team...nice job on that," she said sarcastically, though a hint of annoyance could be heard underneath it.

Richard went back up to his room to check on the painting that was mostly dry. He sat back down on the couch, not really paying attention to what was on the TV. He began running scenarios of what would happen with Simon in his head.

Taking a seat, Simon smiled easily

"Please don't give me all the credit. You could have pretended you didn't know what it was I was handing you. Plus, everyone was so focused on the TV...the only one I'd be worried about noticing is Richard"

He gestured around the room then, as if taking it all in his arms

"But seeing as you choose to see me...I guess whats done is done now isn't it?"

"Oh, there's no need for that. Camille mentioned individual showers for each of us," Katie answered, her arm around Jason's waist as they walked out of the lounge and up the stairs. Still, she appreciated the gesture, as per usual. She stopped at the door to her room and said, "See you in a bit," before kissing his cheek briefly and heading in, looking around for any doors leading off to a bathroom.

There were two doors Katie hadn't checked out; one of them hid a wardrobe behind it, as was expected, and the other, on the opposite wall, led to a small ensuite, which she entered, closing and locking the door behind her.

"You're right, though I myself don't have that much to lose in this, you do. So Simon, why do you want to join us exactly?" Camille asked, leaning back into her seat as she waited for an answer.

"Why should we trust you is a question I want answered," Major said, going over to the fish tank and messing with the fish.

"Trust isn't exactly something I can pull out and show you. For now, it really doesn't matter. We're just here talking right? No secrets being exchanged and no plots are being hatched"

Simon answered, rubbing his chin thoughtfully as he considered how to answer the next question

"As for why I wish to join the Union...have you seen my teammates? The two lovers who couldn't give a care about anything other than themselves, a whiny brat who can't control himself, a rich corporate businessman who is forced to be here, an unstable telepath..."

He paused, noticing how tightly he was gripping the chair and chuckled slightly as he relaxed

"I hate them. I joined them to change the world, to make a difference but they're all small time. They have there little slice of property and thats all that matters to them. The few times we have done things outside the comfort zone is because of you"

He motioned to both Major Pain and Camille

Jason sighed in infactuation as Katie disappeared into her bathroom.

"That girl. That beautiful, beatiful girl.." He said with another sigh before walking into his own bathroom.

As he stumbled into that surprisingly roomy lavatory, he quickly stripped himself and jumped into the shower, immediately jumping out after turning the water on, yelping in surprise.

"We're in the middle of a mountain in the middle of winter...why didn't I think the water would be cold?!" He angrily grumbled to himself before getting back in.

Camille raised her eyebrow at Simon, a smirk on her face. Once he was done, she straightened a few papers on her desk before saying:

"Well, when you describe it like that I can see why you hate them. But I think the thing you want to do is to change the world for the better. The Union isn't really here to do that. I mean, we do some good things; keep other villains in check, make them play by our set of rules to keep them from destroying earth and crap like that. But in the long run we're still considered 'evil' by most people's standards."

She paused after that before adding, "Besides we have a bunch of annoying people in the Union too. You know my about my son, aka the man who greets people by singing them a song as he mind rapes them. We've got Professor Mordtoten, the genius who never stops bitching even after you give him what he wants. We have Think Tank who is always right and tells everyone about it all the time. We've got Dr. Waterloo who constantly has to get into everyone's business, giving off her own 'sagely' advice.

Then you've got the lazy-as-fuck Major Crime over there. Then you've got your leader behind the scenes, one who won't even be in this business soon enough."

Simon leaned forward, an intense look on his face

"Actually, all I said was I wanted to change the world. I never said how. Morality isn't an issue with me. The Society talks, weighs in the options, talks some more, BS, BS, BS...The Union knows what it wants and takes it. My point is that you get things done, they don't"

He paused then, playing back what Camille had just said before adding

"So you'll be retiring soon I take it?"

"Oh believe me we do weigh the options, though sometimes it can be a hassle," she said giving Major Crime a look which he returned with a frown.

"Look at us now! We're weighing the options on what we can do about young Richard's suit. Hell, Donny and I will discuss it with him once this meeting is over more than likely," Camille added.

"I'm somewhat surprised that you do not care how the world will turn out, just that you want to be a part of the changing process. Most people usually take a side, and it just seems a little... jarring is what I'm saying," she told him, adding, "And yes, sometime soon I will no longer be the Leader. Donny will get the top job, not sure how long it'll last with him there."

"Hardy-har," Major replied back.

Simon shrugged

"Well, I can see how my wish to change sides must seem a little... dishonorable, or makes me look untrustworthy. I mean, who wants someone on there team thats going to betray them? But as I've stated before, I have no respect for any of my teammates. They're not concerned with anything outside there own little boxes"

He considered what he was going to say next, drumming his fingers on his chair before continuing

"I can teleport. I've been all over the world. Seen allot of bad, seen allot of good, done whatever I want without a care in the world. Found out really quick that the ability to be anywhere undetected was a very useful thing, got into some minor crime, thought I was a big tough guy...and then I was shown the big picture, outside of my box"

The intense expression returned as Simon continued his talking

"Change needs to happen. One way or the other"

"Change does need to happen, but usually people care if it's for the better or not. Your complete lack of care for whichever way it goes is something that I'm having a hard time with," she explained.

"And you complain about not having respect for your teammates, even hating them...but what about yourself? You're arrogant, impatient, overconfident in your abilities, willing to sellout both sides just so something can happen. No, not even for something to happen, for you to be the cause for something to happen!" she told him, adding, "Now I'm just evaluating you. Doesn't mean I don't want you to join, just getting everything on the table."

She was silent for a moment before suddenly disappearing, reappearing a matter of seconds later with an apple in her hand. "I too can teleport, though only just started doing it yesterday...after I learned how to replicate your power while I was destroying the virus in you. And you're right, it is useful. Though I think you really do need to teleport outside of your own box, for real."

Tommy was following Leland down the hall, slouching and letting his arms hang limp. He's probably luring to some trap of ultimate demise... I wish. He let out another groan being a hero wasn't all it was cracked up to be, that or he just sucked at it.

Hearing her advice, Simon couldn't help but chuckle slightly

"Teleport out of my own box eh? Interesting, I'll have to try that sometime. Could be fun"

Pausing he continued

"My attitude probably comes from me never losing. Well, except the beating I received from your friend down there, but that was necessary for my cover story that I lose so I'm not counting it"

He explained smugly, before changing back to a more respectful tone considering the abilities Camille had just displayed

"Long story short, I have nothing to believe in anymore or rather have found nothing to believe in. Have you read the file I sent in to the Society? Its all about changing the world. Thats what I hoped the Society would allow me to do. It didn't. So I'm moving on"

Leland stopped at two huge double doors, throwing them open and walking inside. The room was a giant, three-story library; filled to the brim with books and trinkets. There were two spiral staircases to get up to the higher levels, and in the center of the room was a large, round table with many intricate designs on it. Above that was a floating map of what appeared to be the galaxy, or maybe even the whole universe.

"This," Leland started, clearly proud of the room, "Is my Magical Library! All things magical, all the time! I've got books, and artifacts, and scrolls, and maps, and I even have the original Arc Mage Council's conference table! Did you know that it was used by King Arthur? Yeah, same roundtable. Boo-ya!"

-------

"Well Simon. You can certainly believe in us. Major Crime will be handling you joining the Union; you'll have to do some brief tests and the like. You won't be getting any form of assignments, or at least nothing above Clearance 9 for the time being. It takes awhile to prove yourself in this business, and no offense but we won't be making an exception for you," she explained, standing up and holding out her hand.

"Welcome to the Union Simon Andrews."

Simon smiled and shook her hand

"Thank you for the opportunity. I won't disappoint"

Standing back a bit he nodded to Major Crime as well before turning back to Camille

"I have to pick up my knives from home base. If you don't need me any longer, I'll head over there now and get a cover story straight"

As Aaron laid focusing on the peak encased in ice he felt something that he hardly ever felt. He got a chill going down his spine. That hardly ever happened to him. He always saw it as either something great or splendid was going to happen or he was going to get screwed over in a bet or something. He quickly ignored it and went back to meditating slowly freezing the mountain below him inch by inch.
