"Well I guess. Since I never met him before he joined the Society I wouldn't know, and I've only talked with him a number of times. But, yeah he does seem to enjoy it a lot," Leland replied, enjoying the view knowing it might be his last here for awhile.

"Okay. I'm ready. Pumped. Adrenaline rushing through. Let's get this done as quickly as possible," Leland said, taking a few deep breaths hoping they'd get there soon, "Haven't done a mission in months. Last one put me out of commission, then again a close-range shotgun blast to the stomach and knee does that to you."

Katie tried to reassure her mother as the car sped through the streets; Lucille was silently panicking, and had been since the troops broke down the door and bundled them into the SUV. On the other hand, her father, Jordan, appeared to be keeping his cool throughout the entire situation.

"Mum, I need you to listen to me," Katie said quietly. "Everything's gonna be fine. There's no sense in panicking or anything like that. Because if you do, it only makes things worse for all of us. So please, try to be calm, just let the guys do what they do best - helping us out - and we'll all be alright."

"Wow... your time in the Society has certainly changed you, Katie," Jordan noted aloud.

"Älright, here's your stop, you can see the entrance, I'm going to swing around back and create the distraction on the other side, you'll be able to see it, once it starts, you fight your way in."

With that Dustin left Leland at a hill over looking the grounds of the Archmage tower and drove off.

In a few minutes Leland saw a great flash of light, followed by a sea of blue flames, the guards began to scramble about, some stayed where they were to watch for more attacks, but the majority ran to the the side Dustin was on.

Leland took a deep breath as he cast an illusion so that the guards wouldn't see him as he approached them. He contemplated leaving them alone, but knew he would have to escape. He knocked them out with a charm he whispered in their ears before entering the tower. He knew teleporting down below would be easier, but he also didn't know what nasty surprises could be down there. 'Better to be safe,' he thought.

He snuck his way past the main hall of the tower, about to head down the stairs before noticing a giant eye floating above it. He used clairvoyance on the eye before casting an illusion, making sure that the watchful eye saw it before slipping by. He continued down the stairs, being as quiet as he could. When he heard voices of guards he would stop, locate their position, then strike while they were distracted. He had finally reached the end of the stairs after ten minutes, checking his new watch constantly.

He took out a big guard that was guarding over what looked to be cells. He grabbed the keys before letting go, almost yelling at the burning sensation on his hand. He looked closer at the keys and tried to levitate them, the keys not moving a bit. He sighed deeply, going to the guard and 'mimicked' his hand. Thinking he had it done he went to grab the keys, jumping back once the burning returned to his hand.

"Fuck this," he muttered, going over to the guard and ripping his hand off. He burned the wound shut before using the hand to pick up the keys. He walked down a corridor, finally finding Tommy and opening the lock.

"Tommy, dearest of all my friends," he said as he knelt down beside him. He handed him the iPod as he said, "We're getting out of here. Tell me when you're ready then we'll go."

Tommy was in a miserable shape, he had bruises all over his body from when the Agents first apprehended him, including a large one across his face when he was hit was the shotgun butt. He gave Leland a hug involuntarily Thanks, he thought knowing Leland could hear him. He then let go and he walked out of the cell to the jailer and bend over and checked his pockets. Taking out another key, it grew hot in his hands, but he just gritted his teeth as he used the key to unlock the plate strapped onto his chest. When the plate fell off Tommy felt like he could breath again he took the iPod from Leland and quickly recognized it as Dira's work, he put on the headphones into his ears and pushed play. After a few moments the bruises faded away on his face, and his muscles gained strength as the iPod pumped more magic into him. He looked back to Leland.

Alright I'm ready, let's get out of here.

"Damn that thing did work well," Leland said clearly impressed with it. "Also, you could have just borrowed the guard's hand," he told Tommy, waving it around, "Actually give me a moment." He walked over and knelt down beside the guard. With a bright green light he had reattached the hand.

"Will be stiff as hell, but better than not having one am I right?" Leland asked Tommy jokingly before becoming serious again. "I can teleport us both up to the main hall, but not completely out. You okay with making a break for it once we get up there. We just need to get outside, then I can teleport us to the Promenade, m'kay?"

Richard got on the comm.

"Yes, patriot made his speech. I made arrangements with an Air Force pilot that needed to be going there anyway." The SUV pulled up to a gatehouse and the driver flashed an ID before being waved through. The vehicle pulled onto the runway behind the plane. The engines were starting back up as the men opened the doors and hurried everyone on board the plane and tossed their bags in. The men climbed back into the SUV as the ramp leading into the plane closed and the AC130 taxied onto the runway, and minutes later they were already flying. Troops, vehicles, and supplies were stored in the plane to be transported to the facility, the civilians standing out like sore thumbs.

Tommy took a second to look at the walls and orient himself facing the direction that would be the opposite the, he looked over at Leland, I'm ready let's do this, I'll run right through them, then we teleport as soon as we get outside. They'll be barricading the main entrance so I'll make a new one.

"Sounds good," Leland replied cheerfully, already prepped to go. He took a deep breath and teleported himself and Tommy to the main hall.

Tommy had been right, the main entrance was already being barricaded by others. Leland laughed inwardly, knowing that it wouldn't keep them out. He felt something hit his jacket, but didn't see anything when he looked. He nodded that he was ready whenever Tommy was.

The minute Tommy felt solid ground under his feet he took of like a rocket. Super powerful legs pumping under him like locomotive engines, each step leaving a foot print gouged into the tiled floor. At first the guards laughed when they saw him running the other wrong way, but soon they realized what they intended. They let loose a barrage of lights, which seared, obliterated, froze everything around Tommy but they didn't hit him. When Tommy came to the wall he bent low, then right be for impact he extended his whole body and slammed into the wall with his shoulder. A thunderous clash was heard throughout the building and after the dust settled an extra-large man sized hole was left in wall going clear to the other side.

Leland quickly followed after Tommy as fast as he could, taking out a few guards with some blasts before jumping over the last one and out of the tower. He grabbed a hold of Tommy's shoulder and quickly transported the two of them to the front of the Promenade, both of them almost falling over from the leftover momentum.

"Wow. W-O-W. That was fucking exhilarating!" Leland said with a laugh, panting slightly as he put his hands on his knees before standing upright.

"Indeed you did. It was a complete blast, and it was a lot of fun hanging out with your family," Leland said, adrenaline still pumping through his system.

"Holy shit. Damn. I thought we'd have to do some boring judicial crap, but no we instead do a jail break!" he said excitedly, still not believing it was real.

Ya I thought I'd be- Oh crap, now I'm a criminal for real. And there aren't many things that incriminate you more than escaping. Shit how much longer till they come after me again?

Tommy fell down again and began staring up at the ceiling, shit we really didn't think this through.

"It's alright man! They're busy dealing with this whole emergency thing going on. Hell, everyone is busy dealing with it," Leland explained, "They won't go after you until after it's over, and then we'll do it the judicial way to get you off. At least I didn't kill anyone."

"Are you okay man? I mean, how are you doing? Won't suddenly faint on me right?" Leland asked, conjuring a seat and sitting down.

As soon as Leland told him Tommy sprung back to his feet like he had fallen down in a bouncy castle. You mean I get to fight evil while laughin in the face of the Archmage council? It's Christmas come early!

Tommy began walking towards the Promenade entrance. I should be fine, they kept me well fed just had the beating to contend with and that's nothing I can't shrug off. Do you want to come inside and say hi to everyone? Last time I checked we had some new people. He waited for Leland's respone while keeping the door open.

Brace for EPIC.

Leland stalled for a moment, not sure if it would be right for him too or not. After a moment he smiled anf shook his head saying, "I'm fine. Wouldn't want any problems or anything. Please say hi to everyone for me though, and ask if they are alright. And say an extra friendly hello to my brother and Katie please." With that Leland shook Tommy's hand before waving goodbye, teleporting back to his home.

----

Leland arrived back at the Lodge soon after, happy to be back home. It started to lightly snow as he entered the Lodge from the porch. He stalled at the door; he could have sworn he heard a thought from someone, but he brushed it off. It was probably just the stress from everything that had happened that day getting to him.

He knew his mother was probably busy, and that Requiem was currently charging himself up so he sat down in the living room after putting his jacket on the rack. He leaned back on the couch, before reaching into his pocket for his pill and taking it. He took a deep breath and started to doze off before suddenly jerking himself awake. He could have sworn he felt a presence of some sort; like there was someone keeping him out of their thoughts. He looked around before sitting back down. He calmed down as his mother walked down the stairs.

"Ah, son. I'm so happy you're back. Did you have fun? Was your mission successful?" Camille asked as she took a seat next to her son.
"But of course I did! It was nice to help out. And it was exciting seeing what the magical world is like. I learned a lot about the society, the things you can do, and the people," Leland replied with a tired cheerfulness. Camille's expression changed at that to one of contemplation.
"Son, I think there's something I need to tell you," she started before getting up, "I'll be right back, let me go get you something."

Leland sat silently, wondering what his mother wanted to talk to him about. He was also curious as to what he was going to get. 'I hope it's something nice. Ohh I can't wait to- Assault begins now! -the hell?' Leland thought, picking up someone else's thoughts before getting hit in the back of the head with the butt of a shotgun.

He fell to the floor with his hand glowing, ready to attack. Suddenly he felt something small and metallic touch his back, and immediately knew that it was the Amulet of Ra by the fact that his powers were suddenly drained from him. It was at this time that fear crept into his heart as he was handcuffed by mercs in black and green uniforms. He was picked up and gagged, getting a few kicks and punches to keep him from struggling. A punch to the stomach knocked him down to his knees, and as he looked up he saw the face of the man that he knew had caused everything.

"Well, well young Leland Falbric Claidt it appears that, while you are an incredibly powerful being, you do not take any precautions half the time," Omoi Sykes (aka. Think Tank) said to him, strolling over to Leland's jacket and plucking a tracking device off of it, "Led us right to your home. I have to say I was initially worried you'd find it when we first put it on you at the Archmage Tower, but thankfully you were distracted."

Leland couldn't help but want to beat himself for his own foolishness. He should have known better, hadn't his mother taught him- wait his mother! He tried to send a telepathic message, but quickly knew it was of no use. He was powerless now, completely useless. Except to Sykes.

Camille looked at the pure white cloak, admiring it for a moment before placing it in a box. She figured now would be the time to tell Leland, to tell him exactly who he was. She smiled as she glanced at one of the few family photos she had, a moment of pure bliss caught on film. She grabbed the box and left her room, heading down the hallway with it. She was about to head down the stairs before looking down into the living room and seeing everyone. She dropped down to the floor, knowing no one had seen her yet. She put the box into a hall closet before standing up and walking down the stairs.

"Ah, my dear leader. So nice of you to join us. I was worried I'd have to send my men to find you, and I know how disastrous that would have been...for all of us," Omoi said out loud to her, "And please, do not try anything rash. As you see we have your son right here at my mercy, and believe me I don't really have much for him considering I already tried to kill him a week ago."

"You were the one at the base then. The one that shot my son," Camille said, already knowing the answer before Omoi even nodded his head.
"Indeed. I was the one that tried to steal all information from the Union that night, and tried to kill your son. He was more...resilient than I thought. Leland, have you figured it out yet that I was also the one who killed Perrault, stole that amulet of his, and framed it on your friend? No matter actually, I'll will be sure to put you to good use soon. I just realized a new device that will...well better not spoil the surprise," Omoi told her in his creepy, monotone voice; going over to the distressed Leland and placing a hand on his shoulder. Leland flinched at the touch and Camille took a step forward, halting immediately when Omoi had one of the guards electrocute Leland. It lasted for only a few seconds, but by the way Leland reacted it was obviously of high voltage.

"See now, I knew getting to him first would make everything so much easier. You were just too powerful Camille, I had to use some underhanded tactics. And if those meant hurting your son to get to you I was ready to do it, knowing one slip-up would be instant death for me," Omoi told her as he grabbed a container that one of his men were carrying. He opened it and brought out a metal syringe. Camille stared at it, already figuring out what it was for.

"One of my greatest creations. It's taken years to get to this point, but I knew without it I would never be able to beat you," Omoi told Camille as he handled it carefully, walking over to her. "It's a techno-organic virus. I assume you know what that means for you correct?" Camille nodded, glancing over to her son with a look of complete sadness. Tears were flowing down his face, and it took everything inside of Camille to keep herself from doing the same.

"Marvelous then! I won't have to explain that if you don't take it that I'll just kill your son now, correct?" he asked her. She glared at Omoi and nodded, holding out her synthetic arm to him. Before the syringe was put in she sent a message to Requiem who was still charging. She told him to run, to get to the Promenade and tell them everything.

Requiem sprang out of charge-mode, quickly following his orders. He only had time to grab his luger, as a few of Omoi's men were checking all the rooms in the Lodge. He opened up his window and jumped out, making sure that if there were any patrolmen or snipers they wouldn't be able to see him.

Camille felt a surge of what felt like ice go through her whole body after Omoi injected her with the virus. She almost instantly lost the ability to communicate with her parasite, and couldn't even control her arm anymore.

"Well I do believe we should be done here once my men finish patrolling your house. I'm so glad things went as planned, and I thank you Camille for following the orders," Omoi said, giving a signal to one of his men. He immediately brought up his gun and fired a round on Camille, her head knocking back from the shot. She collapsed onto the floor, with two guards grabbing a hold of her arms and picking her up. Leland was now freaking out, thrashing around. Omoi gave him another dosage of electricity before saying, "Calm down young Leland. Your mother is fine, her healing factor is still perfectly intact. She will be recovered from this within the half-hour." Omoi had his men carry Leland and Camille out after him, heading into a helicopter that was had just touched down to pick them up.

Requiem watched as the helicopter flew away, feeling pain beyond anything he had ever felt. He went into the fetal position for a few minutes before recomposing himself. He stood up and went into the forest, making his way towards Nova City.

I hope he'll be alright. Tommy thought to himself as he saw Leland disappear. He walked inside the Promenade, relieved to be back home, and to the lounge, as he walked in he knocked loudly on the door frame to get everyone's attention then waved hello.

Garrus walked out of the conference room after hearing some banging going on. He walked right into Tommy, who he happily greeted.

"Hey man! Glad to see that you're good. How was your family emergency business thing?" he asked, happy that he had come back, "Worried us with your sudden leave."

Jason looked on quietly as he watched the troops bustle around the large aircraft. He turned to face Katie and her parents, her mother in which was still shocked scared and confused. He quickly guided them to seats amongst the wall before settling down next to them, sitting closest to Katie. He took a double take before noticing he was also sitting next to a solider. He nudged him softly to get his attention.

"Hey, come here often?" He asked slyly.

The solider laughed dryly and sarcastically before quickly straightening his face and rising from the seat. In return, Jason chuckled to himself before closing his eyes and laying his head back, truely tired from today's events.
