"I guess turnabout is fair play in this situation. I'll probably go into more details on the prototype suit that lead to this one and he has as well. My suit uses layers of carbon polymers to be stronger than the armor of a tank while still being light enough to maneuver. The power comes from a small fission reactor that is automatically monitored to stop the reaction whenever not in use or in extreme emergencies. The casing itself uses diamond casing and other polymers to make it the toughest and possibly most costly casing ever to be used for one system and is designed to only break under the most extreme traumas, so breaking has a probability of far less than one percent.
The jet propulsion system is the same as what you would see in an F-22 Raptor aircraft, with thrust vectoring included for added speed. Now the suit can't handle the same speeds, it isn't aerodynamically designed, but it can achieve speeds far faster than many older jet aircraft simply because of the strength of its components. I rarely need that speed, but it helps to know it is there should the need arise. The jets are located in the hands and feet for stability and ease of movement, it takes getting used to, but it is very responsive once learned.
The suit has two primary weapons, blades in the arms and two ion cannons, or plasma if you prefer, in the shoulders. The plasma weapons are automatically tailored to the situation by calculating distance to target, thickness and makeup of obstructions, and personal voice settings on mode. The helmet itself provides as many sensor types as the modern soldier might need, night vision, infra-red, sonar, radar, etc. each controlled by a different voice activated mode. This suit was meant to be shown off for special forces, so it also needed to be used to collect information. It is why the suit was able to interface with Requiem.
The suit uses very advanced hydrolics to allow me to be stronger and faster than most humans, as well as more agile. This is aided by GPS in the form of a HUD on my helmet, once again voice activated, that allows for real time maps of the area and targeting data as well as target tracking. The suit is upgradable so as to be able to keep up with advancing technologies, I in fact have a few ideas for upgrades already once this is over. Some of which are basics I simply forgot, and some meant to make the suit a bit less lethal since I'm working more as a police officer than a soldier for which the suit was designed. The prototypes have a few but major limitations that keep it from achieving the possibilities of the beta suit, as is true with all alpha units." Richard said before pausing to think over what would be needed to know about the suits they would be facing.
"The alpha suits do not have the fission power system, instead relying on ion batteries. This design does not allow for the use of energy based weaponry, so expect bullets and missiles. The blades in the arm are not present either, since they were only added to make up for a disadvantage in close combat situations. Another limitation is that the jets cannot use the fission power system, and thus require their own fuel, making their implementation far less likely. Expect to see some, but there will be many suits that don't fly, probably more than those that do. The armor is still as strong as my suit's, so they'll be tough to crack, and the sensor modes are there as well, making hiding near worthless. A fatal flaw however is that much of the hydrolics are exposed and are nowhere near as strong as the armor, to reach it requires getting in close to destroy them, but the suits are immobile without them. There is also the fact that wiring and microchips used for the suits many electronics are vulnerable if destroyed, and the batteries can be disconnected and the suits powered down by those means. It is difficult, but if Katie can grow plants from pollen spores, it makes it much easier. Otherwise, the best advice I can give to the upfront fighters is to hit hard and go for joints or where plate meets plate. Those areas are naturally weaker, and will provide softer targets.
Anything else you want or need to know?" Richard asked, knowing he overloaded them with information, but he figured holding anything back may prove to be a mistake in a fight.
