The Society of Justice: A Super Hero Roleplay

Alister stood back up and picked up the broken hilt of his sword from the ground. "Not a chance Tommy." He said. "He made it personal. I'm not leaving here without him, dead or otherwise."

Alister charged again, the latent energy in the hilt beginning to work its way through his body. He tried another punch, aiming for Leland's stomach.

Garrus followed after Richard since he didn't know the way out, helping to locate and carry the knocked out Union members.
"Let's hope Tommy can do it," Garrus said as he took a seat, using his jacket to keep from bleeding out.


Leland watched as everyone left, not making a move to attack any of them. Alister went to attack but he was shot away again with another energy blast. Once the rest were gone he face towards Tommy and got into a fighting position before charging forward with a burst of speed from the energy. His attacks were rapid and powerful as he laid them on Tommy.

Leland got Tommy four times before he could get his guard up, Leland then came in with a jab which he deflected with his fore-arm, and then a sweeping kick that Tommy just cleared with a jump. As he was in the air Leland punched him one final time, aiming for the chest, Tommy just managed to get his arms up to block the blow, but the force still carried through, sending him flying back, into the wall, causing it to crumble.

However, instead of getting buried under the rubble, Tommy's body disappeared, he then re-appeared, directly behind Leland, grabbed Leland by the shoulders, and swinging him around and throwing him up into the air.

Leland looked shocked for a moment at Tommy's disappearance before he was thrown into the air. He sent out a shockwave of magical energy to keep Tommy away as he fell back down to the ground. The energy was surging through his system at a much higher pace than before, ripping and tearing through his systems.

Blood was now pouring out of his nose and mouth and his face was growing paler by the minute. But he was told to keep going, and so he continued his barrage of attacks on Tommy.

Each blow knocked Tommy back farther and farther, soon he was pinned up against the wall as Leland let loose a barrage of punches and magical attacks. Then for a second Leland's attack ceased having an effect, the moment they came in contact with Tommy the kinetic energy they carried ceased to exist. It was only for a second but Tommy took this respite to set up his guard, blocking and deflecting Leland's blows away from him. He saw how Leland was getting paler and paler by the second, if I can't find a way to end this soon Leland's going to die, the original plan was to knock him out, but I don't think Omoi will let that be possible as long as that device is in him.

Tommy let loose his own counter offensive. A jab to the chest which Leland blocked, then a reverse punch, and finally a right-cross, all blocked but with more than enough energy to send Leland flying across the room and through the wall.

Leland collapsed on the floor, breathing heavily and coughing up blood. He started to crawl back towards where Tommy was, staggering up and managing to walk. He charged up some energy and shot it at Tommy, his hands getting torn to shreds as he fired the energy at Tommy.

Alister crawled over to a corner of the arena and watched the battle. He waited for the moment where Leland forgot about him. Then he would strike.

The blast hit Tommy sending him flying back into the wall, but once again he instantly re-appeared on his feet. He did that again, disappearing and re-appearing around the room, until he was right in front of Leland. He grabbed Leland by the front of his shirt and held him up so they were eye to eye.

Tommy held his hand up, and as he did it began to dissolved into a mist, he then punched his arm through Leland's head. The fist did not damage to Leland's body, it passed through the skin, bones and brain without affecting anything. When he opened his hand on the other side, in it he held a collection of small electronic devices, barely large enough to weigh a few grams, so these where the things that Omoi had implanted into Leland to take control.

Leland stumbled backwards after being let go; the energy flowing around him disappearing and causing him to fall to his knees from the damage. His eyes rolled up as he crashed to the floor.

Jason exited the crumbling bunker, Katie in his arms. After regrouping with Garrus and Richard, he gently and carefully set her down on the grass, before abruptly plopping down on the floor near her, fully exhausted and still pained. His masked unraveled to make breathing easier for him. Weakly, he turned towards Garrus.

"Dude, you missed one hell of fight." He laughed.

"I don't even want to think about it. We still have to help against the fucking robot warriors and Omoi," Garrus replied to Jason with annoyance, not even wanting to think about all of that.

Richard couldn't take the pain anymore, and with Leland unconscious there was no reason to pretend he was fine. He screamed as he hurriedly took the helmet off which revealed burns that had charred his face. The damage became truly clear when he took off the chest and back plates by releasing the latch and letting his gauntlets fall to the ground. His body was charred black from electrical burns and a good portion of his skin had come off with the suit, causing the areas it had peeled off to bleed profusely. The water had carried the charge too well and the constant damage from the magical blasts and fire beasts had only made things worse. He started to cough with the armor off and tried to catch his breath before his eyes rolled back in his head and he collapsed. His breathing was once again shallow and his pulse was almost non-existent.

"Oh fuck," Garrus said running over to Richard and looking him over. He checked for breathing and a pulse before telling everyone that Richard was okay. "Needs to go to the hospital soon though. Lemme get my brother over here too," Garrus said as he stood up and went to go get his brother.

When he entered the large circular room he ran over to his brother and turned him over. "Oh fuck, fuck, fuck," Garrus said as he checked to see if his brother was breathing or if there was a pulse, "Tommy staying down here isn't a good idea. Help me bring Leland up to where the rest of the group is. We need to administer CPR when we get up there, and if that doesn't work we need a defibrillator."

Tommy simply nodded to Garrus as he looked down at Leland. Tommy felt the energy beginning to leave his body, he had originally gotten it from the sheer amount that Leland was using, and now with Leland incapacitated the energy was draining away quickly. He bent over and picked up Leland and began carrying him outside, noticing just how terrible he looked, his face and shirt was covered in blood, his leg was bleeding, and his hand was so shredded Tommy wondered if it could ever be used again. He carried Leland out of the bunker until he saw everyone else on the grass. He lowered Leland onto the grass and began chest compressions without saying anything else.

Garrus followed Tommy out and took a seat once his brother was lied down. "Anyone else want to do the mouth-to-mouth part?" Garrus asked with a chuckle, getting silence. "Heh, you guys all suck," he said before helping out Tommy with resuscitating his brother.

After a minute Leland was breathing again and had a slight pulse. "This is good guys! Means my mom won't kill us all! She still might be mad that we beat him into a coma though," Garrus said as he stood up, "Okay so Leland and Richard are both out. Any ideas on how we're gonna get them back to the Promenade?"

Alister sat by the others, watching as Tommy attempted to revive Leland. He held the shards of his sword in his hands, unsure of what to do with them.

"Well, Rich is a wealthy guy, right? Can't we just call...his people, and tell them to send...a...Helicopter in our direction or something? I mean, that armor might be a bit heavy to ride on one of our bikes." Jason suggested, attempting to get up before wincing loudly.

"T...they aren't the only ones that needs doctors..." Jason mumbled, putting a hand over his still bleeding stab wound.

"I think they need to more than any of us," Garrus replied back as he walked over to Richard. He grabbed one of Richard's gauntlets and looked at it before putting it back down. He then got the helmet and pressed a few buttons. He put the helmet to his ear as he heard ringing before hearing a young woman's voice on the other side.

"Hello Richard, what can I do for you this time?" Lillian asked from the other side. The voice sounded glad to be getting the call.

"Oh umm this isn't Richard. My name is Garrus Arreos and I work with Richard in the Society of Justice. Uh, currently he is comatose I believe and the group and I were wondering if there was some possible way that we could get a helicopter over here to come and pick us up? Preferably with a doctor onboard," he told her in a very calm, and polite voice with a hint of urgency.
