"And that's why super medicine is better than scientific medicine!" Doc Loo exclaimed as she finished up with Richard, looking exhausted as she took a step back. "Boy need to get back into shape! Can't believe I'm already tired. Better get to work on the rest of the group then," she said, looking over Richard once more to make sure she healed almost everything.

Richard woke up as Doc Loo finished, he spoke in a barely there voice.

"Lillian?" Said person rushed to his side and got close so she could hear him.

"What do you need Richard?"

"I need a drink." He said in the same barely there voice. That earned him a smack to the chest and a laugh from Lillian.

"You bastard, you just come out of a coma and that's all you have to say?" She said with another smack against him. Richard's voice went back to the way it was normally.

"Alright, alright, I'm sorry. Just stop hitting me, would it help if I said you were quite the sight to come back to?" That earned him yet another smack as he chuckled.

"You're an asshole." Was the curt reply that came with the smack. Richard couldn't help but laugh.

"Yet you still put up with me."

"Somebody has to, if only to make sure you don't get yourself killed."

Garrus knew not to disturb his mother at the time, so he went back into Richard's room to see if Doc Loo would mind fixing him up.

Garrus gasped so he opened the door, seeing the woman of his dreams in front of him standing next to Richard. Her short, wispy jet-black hair. Her soft and round light green eyes. Those sharp cheekbones! There was only one way to react in Garrus' mind.

...and that was to faint on site.

Doc Loo rushed over to him, getting one of the doctors to help her move him to the bed beside Richard. "The poor lad! His injuries must have been so great that he couldn't bare the pain!" she said dramatically.

Richard looked at the unconscious Garrus for a few minutes before bursting out laughing. He had seen where Garrus was looking before he passed out.

"You're beauty knocked him unconscious, that's hilarious. I think you have an admirer Lil, let's just hope he doesn't pass out again when he wakes up." Lillian moved to help Doc Loo help him onto the bed next to Richard's.

"I though it was kind of cute Rich." Lillian responded.

"I would find it cute if someone passed out from my looks to." Richard shot back.

"They would be passing out because of your looks alright, but not in the way you're thinking of."

"Now that's just mean Lil, but I'm going to forgive it because we both know that isn't true." He laughed as Lillian took a seat in between the two beds. She turned to Doc Loo.

"Thank you. Tell me how much your help cost and we'll pay it and I'll throw in at least half of that on top."

"Oh please, dearie. Consider all this as helping comrades in need; no need for pay," Doc Loo replied before adding, "Plus I think my boss would disapprove of accepting it, and I'd rather not piss her off."

Doc Loo placed her hand on Garrus' chest, healing up the only visible wounds. She looked confused before shrugging, "Guess he was not as injured as I thought." She shook him a few times before splashing a glass of water on him, causing him to jump awake.

"There we go! You're good as new Gar-bear," she told him cheerfully, pinching his cheek.
"I'm good! Just stop," he said embarrassed, staring at his bed.

Lillian was the first to speak.

"Gar-bear? So I assume that makes you Garrus Arreos. I'm Lillian O'Hare, we talked when you called for help. Are you okay?"

"Uh yeah. I mean yes you would be correct. I'm Garrus. Ignore the childhood nickname that family and family friends seem to call me," he told her as his cheeks reddened. "I, uh thanks for getting that helicopter to us! I'm sure my family is also thankful. And I'm fine. Just went through a lot! We all did right Richard?" he asked, stumbling to create complete sentences.

Richard nearly laughed as he replied.

"That we did Garrus, but it's over for the moment. You don't need to be in fear at the moment, she tends not to bite except in certain situations." That earned him a slap.

"You're welcome, and I rather like the name. It's a very cute name."

Tommy left Camille to her work and went over to see how Richard was doing. He was relieved to see Richard was awake and stable. He also noticed Garrus was getting flustered as he talk to some woman, and another woman was in the room who he recognized as Doctor Waterloo. He walked over to Richard's bedside and pulled up a seat.

" Good to see you're alright, they really seem to downplay the fatal injuries part of this gig in the comics don't they?" He joked as he looked around the room.

"Thank you very much. I believe I already told you I like your name. Irish or something from that area right?" Garrus asked, lying back down against his pillow. He stayed there for a moment before sitting back up. "So," he coughed not even noticing Tommy enter the room, "So Lillian how are you today?"

"That they do Tommy. So, are you okay?" Richard said in between fits of laughter at Garrus' stumbling.

"I'm good. My father was Irish, my mother's line comes from both China and Japan. They met in the Chinatown district, she was a waitress and he was a businessman with close ties to this asshole's family." She pointed her thumb at Richard.

"Oh wow that's pretty amazing. That's a nice way to meet someone," Garrus told her, "I used to live over there, worked in a number of the restaurants. And now I live and work here, with those guys." He pointed at Richard and Tommy. "It's not as nice, though there are perks."

"Yea, he went to The Dragon's Tail bar and restaurant where my mother worked on a whim once and fell in love. He went to that restaurant and sat at the same table every other day until he worked up the nerve to ask her out. We all still frequent the restaurant, like a second family. Third being the big child's over there. We've been best friends since childhood, why I make more than most secretaries do. He just had to have me since he knew I was trustworthy and could deal with all his quirks and secrets. Though I don't see how this place is worse than Chinatown, I mean, when it isn't in tatters." She responded to Garrus.

Tommy sighed, " I'm as good as you can be after you beat your friend into a coma." before shifting his position, "But I've got nothing to complain about, I came away from the whole thing without a scratch on me thanks to all the magic that was floating around. What about you? How are your wounds?"

"Well I was in a coma, so I don't really know. Doc Loo took care of it and I'm fine now though, good as new." Lillian cut in for a second.

"She saved his life. The doctors resigned him for death until she showed up." She then went back to her own conversation with Garrus.

"Oh hey I used to work there until I got the notice that I'd be able to join the Society. It's a great place, I really enjoyed working there. I probably made a few of your meals," Garrus said with a laugh at the realization, "Great story. That's a story that stays in the family, so nice."

"Eh this place is pretty nice. I just miss home once in awhile. At least it's only a drive away," he replied.

Alister sat outside the infirmary, looking blankly at the shards of his sword. He didn't say anything, and didn't react to the people nearby.

Jason hobbled around the infirmary on an actual crutch, looking around the rooms until he heard the peaceful, serene sounds of general conversation. He reached the origin of the sound, eyes widening when he heard where they were coming from.

"R-rich! Glad to see you...you back in the land of the living! Thought we were gonna lose...you for a-a second." Jason beamed as he made his way towards his recovering comrade, weakly patting him on the chest as he got there, happily addressing Tommy and Garrus along the way. Looking around the room, he quickly noticed two other characters were there. Not wanting to interrupt the conversation Garrus was having with one of the characters, Jason moved on to the doctor, leaning on her tiredly.

"Sorry doc...I just need some help. I kinda got into a...fight with an-an illusion...and he stabbed me. The wound...it...it-it won't stop bleeding...can you do something to it, like stitch it up...or put a band-aid on it....or something? I'm s-starting to g...get a little diiiizzzy..." He began to slur and pant as he took a hand off the wound, showing it to her in the best way he could.

"Oh this will be easy. And band-aids certainly wouldn't help you at all," she told him, putting a hand over the wound for a moment before taking it off. There was still a slight cut and a bruise around the area where the stab wound was, but otherwise everything was healed.

"And there you go! Will still be sore for a week or so but at least you won't bleed to death on the battlefield," she said.

"We would have met before if you did. Nobody in my family or Richard's leaves that restaurant without visiting with the chefs and staying for a drink and chat with everybody after closing. Honestly I wouldn't miss the empty place I have. Richard has to be the socialite of the two of us, so I'm often home alone or at the restaurant." Lillian replied to Garrus.

"Yea, it's good to be back. You have no idea how much being electrocuted, drowned, and burned hurts."
