The Society of Justice: A Super Hero Roleplay

As Jason stumbled outside, he quickly stopped dead in his tracks. He could say nothing as he saw the buildings around The Promenade begin to crumble and disintegrate, people running for safety, only to get crushed by falling debris. It was pure, unadulterated, overwhelming mayhem. Jason was frozen with fear as the world seemingly fell around him.

"HOLY. SHIT!!!" He yelled in fear (you'l have to excuse him. He yells when he's nervous and/or scared).

What did get him to move, was Katie. The sight of her fear quickly built adrenaline in him. He bounded over to her.

"KATIE!! YOU HAVE TO GET UP!!!" He yelled. As you can hear, he was still a bit scared.

 

[CounterAttack]

Sprawled on the ground with her suitcases, Katie ignored everything going on around her, even Jason yelling at her. All she knew was that there were so many deaths happening right at that moment, and she was powerless to stop them. Not just people, but plants. Their lives were ending as well. She knew it somehow. She could feel them fading away, consumed by the earthquakes.

She began to cry; the tears flowed down her face, and she made no attempt to move.

"Wouldn't really help much now Aaron, it's basically over now," Garrus replied in the communicator as he put his jacket on and made his way outside. He inhaled deeply at the sight of the city, watching the people run for help.

"Listen up team. I want you in your costumes now. Earthquake is over but there is still a chance of aftershocks so be careful. High chance of fires, flooding from the water pipes, and of course falling buildings. Wish the east coast buildings were built for earthquakes," he ordered as he paced around, coming up with a plan as quickly as he could, "Separate into groups and go to different parts of the city to help out. We'll have to have someone go to the Police Station to help coordinate everything with them."

Simon sat down on the cool morning grass and waited for the others. Without proper order and cordination, they could all get injured or worse.

"Anyone whose unable to get outside, tell me where you are and I'll pick you up"

Simon stated calmly

Tommy ran out side, he was still in his pajamas and all he had with him were a few important things, like his keys, communicator, and a smoke bomb. As soon as he had heard Garrus's order he threw down a small ceramic ball that hit the ground and cracked, releasing smoke that enveloped Tommy. When the smoke screen dissipated he was in his costume. He then went to his bike and got it warmed up and ready.

@ Blaze: Can we assume Richard already figured out some sort of lip-reading device for Tommy's communicator?

Knowing that if he was needed he'd be summoned, Simon quickly shifted back into his mostly not destroyed room and slipped on his costume.

It was going to be a busy night

"Don't have to tell me twice." Jason said to Garrus before taking off his shirt and pants. Since his armor was already active, this was all he needed to do. Immediately after, he helped Katie to her feet.

"Kate, are you okay?" He said to her, the sight of her tears causing him to frown as well.

I figure we can go ahead and assume so, for the sake of you being able to post more than actions.

"I'll move out and see if I can't get some people out of the rubble. That or I'll got to the police headquarters and help out there. Where do you need me Garrus?" Richard said as he began to fly towards the headquarters. Even if he was told to get people out of rubble, the headquarters was inside the city anyway.

Aaron got into his costume and froze over. He quickly met up with the others.

Although Katie felt a little better at Jason's touch, the tears continued to flow from her eyes. She rummaged through one of her suitcases, found her hood and took it out, but didn't put it on just yet. Instead she put her arms around Jason and rested her head on his shoulder, still sobbing.

"I can feel the... the city's plants," she mumbled between deep breaths to try and calm herself down. "They're dying, Jason... their lives fading into nothing... and I can't help them..."

"Sounds good Rich. I say you and the rest of the heavy lifters will go clear up debris and rescue," Garrus said as he continued to pace. "Aaron I want you to deal with any fires and leaks that might have sprouted up, there are probably quite a few and we don't want them to get too bad. Simon you'll be helping with getting people out safely and too a safe place. Aw shit we need to find safe areas to keep people," Garrus cursed as he thought some more, "I'm gonna call Cillian, give me a sec."

He got out his phone and dialed, noting that he was losing and gaining bars every few seconds. He called a few times before finally getting Cillian to pick up.
"Hey, look we need you. I'm not good with organizing," Garrus explained frantically.
"Nice to know you're alright too Garrus," Cillian replied, "Look I'm almost at the police station. From there we will coordinate understood?"
"Right."

Richard shouted into his communicator.

"Get a hold of yourself Katie! Not to be insensitive, but every second we waste not doing something is another second somebody dies. We need everyone we can get right now, there will be time for mourning later, right now we need to keep as many people as possible alive." He then responded to Garrus.

"Alright Garrus, get into the city and help with the heavy lifting, got it."

 

[CounterAttack]

Katie stopped crying immediately, let go of Jason and used a sleeve of her jacket to dry her face. She then pulled her hood on and said, "S-Sorry, Richard. You're right, of course." She turned to a relatively undamaged patch of ground and picked a small flower from it.

"I guess I'm ready. What should I be doing?" she asked no-one in particular, still a little tearful.

Jason made a unnoticeable smile at how quickly Katie recovered.

"Hm. showing courage in the face of adversity. I like that." He thought to himself.

But this was not a time for smiles. Somewhere, people needed to be saved.

"So Gar, what do we do?" He asked.

 

[Birras]

"Fuck!" The doc shouted as he wheeled his way to meet everyone else, "Are we all alright?"

Tommy adjusted his communicator, trying to make sure it was sitting right.

"I guess that means it's you and me Richard." He spoke in a very cold and sterile, computerized tone that lacked any sort of inflection, "Lead the way I'll follow on my bike."

 

[tsatoma]

"Hey everyone this is Cillian. Got this communicator to work now. Alright I'm being briefed right now and it seems that there is a jail break over in the Harbor District, that's a priority. There is also a high chance of a tsunami on the coast, so that's another important thing. Fires over in Harbor, but you should focus on the huge one in Westford right now. Police are working on helping everyone out in the city. The safe zone is around St. Valentine's Hospital, thank goodness that didn't go down," Cillian said to everyone on the communicator.

"Gotcha. Tommy can I get a ride with you?" Garrus asked on the communicator, "Who's gonna go where now that we know the situation?"

"I'll head over to the prison. Catching and rounding up criminals should be quick work for me"

Simon said, testing out the sharpness of his blades

"But if you got something else for me, I'll go there"

 

[CounterAttack]

Katie shuddered a little at the mention of fire; she was vulnerable to it. "I can't go anywhere near open flames, Simon. I'll take the jailbreak." As she spoke, she started working with the flower in her hand to weave roots and branches into full body armour, the way she had during the incident at the mall.

"Simon your teleporting ability is going to be invaluable getting people out of the rubble. We need you there." Richard said as he flew into the city. He would head over to the hospital to see what areas were currently being searched. Getting them out of rubble would be useless if they couldn't get medical care right away.
