"Yeah, I agree 100%. Those tabloids would have a field day if they saw us." He said as he sped down the empty, solemn streets.

He couldn't help but frown a bit as he sped past destroyed buildings, now-homeless citizens, and other depressing sights as they flew down the roads. Within seconds, the Promenade was only a speck in the opposite direction. Within minutes, a sign reading: "Garden City; Next exit" was quickly passed. Eventually, the two arrived in the city. Strangely enough, the city was barely affected by the earthquake.

"Hm. Nice looking town." He said as he began to slow down, so he could spy a suitable looking restaurant.

"Garden City... my kind of place," Katie said with a laugh. As Jason turned a corner she scanned the street ahead. "Oh, hey! I can see a place on the corner down the road," she said after a few minutes of slow driving. She pointed up ahead to indicate what she had seen. "Think it'll be open?" It should be. Let's just hope they're not suffering from damages as a result of last night.

Jason silently nodded and made his way towards the place. As he pulled in and parked, He couldn't help but notice the several cars parked beside him.

"Hm. Even in the event of an earthquake, people still need their breakfast special. But then again, that's why we're here, right?" He asked he open the door for Katie.

The doors to the Promenade burst open, and out from them, came in a doctoral voice, "Hey guys, I'm back from my six hour leave!" Doctor Birras limped into the main room, supporting himself by a cane, arm, leg and ribs now out of casts, "They said at the hospital that I would take up more resources than I would provide, so they sent me away. I passed a purse snatcher on my way back, gave him my bum bones." The Doctor shifted uncomfortably on his feet, "Bastard had one hell of an Athlete's Foot infection, accidentally took that in my excitement."

"Glad to have you back Doc. Cillian had actually called only a little while ago to say you were helping out at the hospitals," Garrus replied, having left the lounge and was heading through the main hall to the museum.

"I think I might be one of the only ones here though. I actually don't know where everyone is," Garrus added.

Katie smiled and gracefully stepped out of the car, saying, "Yep. That'd be us. Just two normal people out for breakfast." She slipped her hand into Jason's after he closed her door, and they entered the restaurant together.

A few people looked up as they entered, but quickly went back to their food and conversations. Katie spotted a table in one of the corners, away from everyone else. "Shall we?" she asked, indicating it. "We'll get a little privacy from the others," she added in a low whisper.

"Hell yes. that sounds like a great idea." He quickly said before walking to the table. Once he sat Katie down, Jason slid into the seat, grabbing one of the menus.

"I wonder if they sell omelets here..." He said as he scanned the book like menu.

"What're you gonna get Katie?" He asked.

The waiter walked up to Jason and Katie's table, getting out a pen and notepad. "Anything to drink to start either of you off? Also you guys got here right during the brunch hour, so you can order from either the breakfast or lunch menus," he told them, waiting for a reply.

"Just give us a moment, please," Katie said to the waiter, and then returned to her menu. It was interesting; among other more universal choices, there were a few house specials. A vibrant description of a plateful of pancakes with fresh seasonal fruit caught Katie's eye, and she read it closely before looking at the other options. Their descriptions seemed a little less exciting to her, and she turned to the waiter.

"I think I'll have the pancakes, thanks," she said. "Jason, what are you getting?"

"I'll have...a bacon, egg, sausage, and cheese omelet." He said to both Katie and the waiter before closing the menu.

"I haven't have a omelet in ages. Can't wait to have one of these again." He said to her.

"Alright. I'll be back in a few minutes with your food," the waiter replied, heading back to the kitchen.

After a number of minutes....

The waiter came back with their food, placing on the table and asked if they wanted anything else.

"That'll be everything for now, unless you want something," Katie said to Jason before starting to eat. The pancakes were perfectly cooked, the texture and taste magnificent. Combined with the mixed berries, the flavours became divine in her mouth. Katie knew she'd picked the right option on the menu.

Before she knew it, Katie had finished eating one pancake and had started on a second.

"Oh nah, I'm good." He said to Katie before digging in.

The omelet was just the right size for Jason; it wasn't too small, or too big. And it had the perfect amount of foodstuffs in it as well. In every bite, he was always able to get some of the bacon, some sausage, and some of the cheese. And this satisfied Jason in every way.

"So, did any other types of Natural Disasters occur in Nova when you were younger?" Jason asked after swallowing the perfect omelet.

Katie finished eating, set her cutlery down and said, "There was a hurricane once, when I was about three years old. I don't remember it, but my parents told me that we had to stay in our basement for nearly four days. Dad tried to go back upstairs to bring down extra food, but he was forced to come back empty-handed after a particularly strong blast took part of the roof off our house."

She paused for a moment, discreetly looked around the restaurant to make sure no-one was listening in on their conversation, and resumed speaking. "Back at the Promenade, you mentioned something about growing up in a warehouse, learning to fight. If you don't mind telling me, I'd like to learn a little more about that."

*yawn* I'm going to get some sleep.

Jason grew silent as Katie mentioned that. He slowly put down his fork and knife before talking.

"Well, I used to be in a...group called the Key Corps. They were practically like your average vigilante group (like Guardian Angels or Black Panthers), but only people who were born with the Key were admitted into the group. From birth, they kept us in this warehouse that was somewhere on the outskirts of Horatio Way. In there they taught us how to fight, they educated us, and they made me into what I am today." He slowly and quietly told her.

University finals started for me today. Because of this I have some hardcore studying to get down to and may not be on as often as I have been. I am not quiting any of my RPs, merely informing you all that I may not be as active. Thank you for your understanding

Simon shifted down into the Promande, wondering where everyone was

"Hello? Anyone here?"

He called, slightly confused at why everyone would be leaving with the Union having such a high advantage over them

The Promenade's public displays were impressive. A wiry young woman Wandered among them pausing to look at this or that bit of history. Her outfit is a simple one, a long skirt and pumps with a puffy blouse in complimentary shades of black. Long red hair is coiled up into a bun behind her head and a jade pendant the same deep green as her eyes her only jewelry. Her two-inch nails painted to match the delicate rose pink upon her lips.

Looking at a picture of a flattened building Khrystin found her thoughts going round in the same circles they had since she received the letter.

What am I doing here? I should be lying low or trying to find him not playing hero. But it had felt good scaring off that purse-snatcher. Besides maybe, just maybe, they could help me find him.

With new resolve she headed through the building till she reached the Second Generation section walking into the restricted section purpousfully walking up to the doors and pausing to fish a key out of her shirt and use it slipping within.

Her nose twitched at the smell of food and her ears at the sounds of voices. So off she headed to the lounge.

Aaron picked up a new heat signature from the lounge. Though something was weird about it.

"101.5°F," Aaron said to himself,"Unless someone was sick then it must have been some type of super."

Aaron contemplated to head down to introduce himself though he decided to just enjoy the day and head down later.
