"Its interesting isn't it? How we have such a reaction orientated team here. We wait for the Union to strike and we wait for disasters to happen"

Simon sighed

"We should be doing more. We're here to protect people and that means going out there and preventing problems!"

He shook his head

"Maybe I'm expecting too much..."

After the long shower, Jason stepped out, completely refreshed.

"That was needed." He says, before grabbing a towel and walking out.

As he got to his room, Jason began to search for something to wear.

"Alright...don't need a suit or anything....should wear a short sleeve shirt, just in case....ah, I love these sleeveless hoodies..." He mutters as he goes through his wardrobe.

Tommy walked in, he looked very tired and had a bundle of books under his arm. The reason for his state was that he had been studying most of night. Tommy could run for hours and not even loose his breath, but only a few minutes of studying the task drained him like nothing else. He saw Garrus and gave him a note, while shaking his head.

Code:
I wasn't sure yesterday but after going though my books I know there is no way for me to tell what kind of magic he was using. Every culture's magic has hundreds of spells for evading security, adding in magic devices we are looking at thousands of possibiltys. All I can say is that the best kind of spells for stealth infiltration are illusion, transformation, and hypnosis.

A few minutes after Jason finished his shower, Katie turned hers off and stepped out. She found a pile of folded towels in a corner of the room, and dried herself off. She got dressed and returned to the lounge, the towel over her shoulder. She gave Tommy a quick wave as she passed through. Mental Note: ask him why he doesn't speak sometime today, she thought.

When she got back to her room, she changed into a black dress, not too formal, not too casual, either. It was fairly long; it stopped just before her ankles, and clung to her body slightly, accentuating her figure. "Dress for success. Very nice, Katie," she thought aloud as she looked at herself in a mirror.

"Illusion. I think that's what he is best at. Or at least he's probably fucking good at it," Garrus replied to Tommy, "So we can't really do any defenses against him then. That's fine. Well, not good fine. Just we can't do anything fine. Sorry Rich."

"It's not the fact we can't defend against him that bugs me. It is the fact that I am forced to wait for a break-in on my home. That and the fact some of us wish to attack when we know nothing of them except a name of one and an idea of the power. If an enemy has too much power, but you know more, you can defeat them. It is when the enemy has more intel and power that you are in trouble." Richard said.

Tommy returned Katie's wave and turned his attention to Richard and gave him a note.

Code:
We're super-heroes, going in agaisnt unknown opponents when we're outgunned and out-manned is a part of our job. Instead of doing something proactive, your sitting here watching TV like you've already been defeated.
At this point it was also becoming evident that Tommy did not seem to write the notes anymore, it was just a quick hand movement, and a note was in his hand. As well there were no notes littering the floor from his previous talks.

"I feel like shit not doing anything, but what can we do?! Fuck," Garrus replied clearly annoyed at their predicament.

"Tommy how come you know so much about magic?" Garrus asked after watching him make the note.

"Yes, and maybe this doesn't apply to heroes, but when people go into a situation where they know absolutely nothing without a plan other than "we will figure it out when we get there.", they call that suicide. We have a plan, and it is to wait until we can actually know what we are up against here. Let's also not forget I'm not a damn superhero, the suit is more a damn hero than I am. Without it I'm no different from a standard human being. I mean, if you can answer these questions, then I will gladly join you in a fight. However, if you can't, then we don't have any real options other than wait and be ready when the call does come. The questions are.

How many of them are there? Who are they? What are their powers? Where are they? That last one I think is the crux of our problem currently. If you can't answer any of those questions and you still want to fight...well I can just put my suit on and kill you myself. It will be the same end, just a whole lot quicker and a whole lot cheaper." Richard said as he crumpled up the note and tossed it across the room.

"I hate not being able to do anything when it is about to be my home that is ransacked, but I don't see any other options. I pretty much have to sit back and wait for it to happen, I cannot just go out and blindly grope all over the city looking for information about villains or their hideout. They have their plan, and we have ours, it now comes down to whose plan is better."

Tommy was too focused on Richard to respond to Garrus, as soon as Richard finished he threw another note.

Code:
What the fuck is our plan? Sitting, watching TV, and waiting for them to slip up? If it isn't please tell me. Because from where I'm standing that is a shitty plan. No I can't tell you much about who they are, how many there are, and what they can do, but they don't know most of that stuff about us. Only half of you have been seen in public, and only three or four have actually shown their powers. And we already know their target, your house and labs, so let's get there and set a trap. Besides that, just sitting around isn't going to produce any information, the History Channel isn't going to tell you what powers they have.

"I already upped security at my house with two systems they don't know about. That's the best I can offer you, and don't say we have any kind of advantage. We know what one of them uses as an alias and a basic idea of their power. They have that same amount of information on four of us, and they know for a fact where the rest of us are. They have the advantage, that's all there is to it. Right now, I can only up my security measures, Garrus can try to keep up with everything and get the right information to the right people, you need to figure out what magic he is using, and everyone else needs to attempt to relax before the hardest battle yet. That is all we have right now, and we can't waste a day meant for relaxation and preparation for a coming battle trying to follow every thread that might lead somewhere." Richard said before thinking for a moment.

"Maybe I don't know how supers do things, being the weak human I am. Maybe being able to take a bullet, make ice from your hands, or teleport out of danger makes you less concerned about all the things that can go wrong. I don't have that luxury, I have to be cautious by comparison, and maybe that makes me weak or cowardly to you, but it is all I've got. If you don't like the plan I do have, fine, make your own damn plan and follow it. All I can do right now is what I have already done, and try to be ready when the call comes."

Katie entered the lounge while Richard was speaking, and looked around. There was no sign of Jason, just Tommy, Richard and Garrus, and they appeared to be deep in conversation. She gave them a wide berth, as there could be a lull in their conversation at any time, and she wished to avoid talking to anyone for the moment, as Richard in particular appeared to be a little high-strung. She headed for the Society's bedrooms, looking for Jason to find out if he was still keen for breakfast with her.

Code:
I'm not suggesting that we go right after the Union itself, but if we just wait for them to make the next move when we know what it's going to be, it's just stupid. We need to learn more about them, I don't see how letting them make their next move, practically uncontested is going to do that. I don't know about you but I'm going out find out whatever I can on these guys.
After giving Richard the note Tommy, turned and walked out of the lounge.

"Who the fuck said anything about uncontested? I set up two new security systems, both of which will activate at the minutest of changes, and have them set up to alert us as soon as they are activated. We fight them when the alarm goes off. Try and learn about them though, just don't think I'm not doing anything. I just don't have that much I can honestly do." Richard said before Tommy walked out and going back to watching television. He was seriously starting to get pissed off at all these people who were treating him like he was somehow happy with the damn situation. He was putting everything he had on the line with this plan. He would lose everything if it failed, and gain practically nothing if it worked and he knew it.

Tommy heard what Richard said but didn't turn around to reply, instead he just shook his head. Tommy was a man of action, if he knew something was wrong he couldn't standby and let the situation develop. If he wasn't actively moving against the oponenent he felt as if he was losing the battle. Perhaps Richard was right, perhaps the best move was to lay low and wait for the enemy to attack, but Tommy simply couldn't see it that way. He only saw it as Richard sitting back watching TV, thinking a few Rent-a-cops would be enough to keep his secrets safe.

As Tommy exited onto the lawn he subconciosly began walking to his Ferrari, when he realized what he was doing he changed directions and headed for his Station wagon instead.

As Jason put the final touches on his outfit (not forgetting his trademark blue tie and black hoodie), he remembered to get his company card, car keys, and communicator, before walking out of his room. What he did not see however, was Katie, heading straight towards him. The result ended in a collision between the two. Jason quickly noticed his date fall to the ground, but thanks to his fast reflexes, he caught her by the hand in one swift motion.

"Katie! Just the girl I wanted to see. Are you okay?" He asked.

A little shocked by the abrupt collision and subsequent catch, Katie blinked a few times and said, "Oh, wow. Hey, Jason. Didn't see you there. And yeah, I'm fine." She blushed at the strangeness of the situation before regaining her footing, and she stepped back to look Jason up and down. "My, don't you look dashingly handsome this morning," she teased a little as she adjusted her dress. "I take it this means you're still up for breakfast out?"

Sadly, I need sleep before we continue.

"Of course! You really think I would skip out on a chance to spend some time with a beautiful girl; such as yourself?" Jason replied happily.

"Really, I just hope there are some resturants still left standing from yesturday's earthquake, or we might have to drive out to another town." He added.
